Can we change the start procedure for these races? The issues we had at the last race were strange but also highlighted the issues with the penalty system with this game. Several of us got penalties for going too slowly but the game doesn't tell you what speed is too slow. And half the time the game doesn't tell you what you've got a penalty for. In the Indy race I got 2 penalties for passing the car ahead when they slowed down a little. I didn't pass them by much, and took my spot again as soon as i could, but i still rec'd the penalties. I think a better solution would be running our own formation lap, governed by ourselves. That way the game wouldn't hand out nonsense penalties at the start. I propose adding 5 mins to the race time. Then doing a standing start, let the game count down to the green lights, then we do a formation lap and a rolling start dictated by the Pole sitter. I thought the same thing when I read your other post. Not a bad idea at all. If everyone else agrees then I don’t see an issue with that

Just bought that F1 rim for Thrustmaster TX. I’m not sure if any of you boys have it, but I would highly recommend it! It’s unreal how much smoother the driving is. I’m hoping it’s not the placebo effect LMFAO

We tried it about 2 races ago but it won’t let you do a formation lap which would mean adding time in 5 min intervals. I think now we all pretty much understand what the penalties that many people had got are for I think this has more or less sorted it’s self out.

I can agree with that 👍
The person who says 'go' should first shush everyone so we all can hear him. Then there should be some sort of 'get ready' or 3, 2, 1, go countdown. I wasn't actually ready a couple of those times after caution restarts

I think the basic rule of thumb is the start finish line is the go point on restarts. Once we get out of the last corner we all need to allow P1 to speak and once the S/F line is in view they can shout either go go go or green green green. A exception to this would be a short run from the line to turn 1 but that could be agreed upon pre race.

I agree Rich, but I’d like to add that the leader can call to restart the race at any point from the last corner to the Start/Finish line, the race leader should be able to maintain the advantage that has been removed from him by the Safety Car

Yeah I wasn't in for any racing last night either. Think everyone had been enjoying the break so far. Back to business this week though

Project Cars 2 releases the Ferrari pack today including Mugello! Yep I posted about this in the Project Cats 2 General Chat. I wondered why I had such a huge update last night. Just need the season pass to drop in price and I might pick it up and get all the DLC in one hit.

Oh, my bad Peter I missed that. I had such hops for PCars2 in the beginning I had preordered the ultimate edition with season pack. The vintage Le Mans pack has been the best so far.

Nothing bad Greg, I meant to link to it in here but got tied up with things at work and forgot. Yeah, it's had it's problems but we are getting there now. I have been hanging out for the season pass until it gets discounted like pCars 1 did but I suspect that may be a while off now with this latest release that I'm sure they are hoping will be a big draw.

For some reason I don't check the main pages often, I have the Indycar and Vintage series pages bookmarked separately. Anyway I always loved Mugello in Forza and more recently Assetto. Really looking forward to racing there again.

Just in case anyone hasn't ventured away from our two main forum area's here Dave has posted up a sneak peak at the next series here, so go check it out.:- consoleracing.boards.net/thread/439/next-championship?page=1&scrollTo=7116I'll be looking at cleaning up the forum area here soon to hide away some of the stuff that is no longer accessed so it might make it easier for people to find this sort of stuff in future. I am posting this in the Vintage F1 forum too.
