Once we got the lobby sorted out the actual connection seemed pretty solid. So that being the case is everyone happy for me to host going forward?
The game itself still has some odd issues it seems. I had an Ill behaving car throughout the race whereby I had a real lack of rear end grip especially through turn 1 where it seemed I had none at all and lost the back end several times. Very odd seeing as it was probably my strongest corner throughout my practices but in the race I could only negotiate it very gingerly or else end up spinning. Same setup, tyres, fuel and race conditions as in practice but a completely screwed car handling. Karl had the same problem in practice. Just one of those weird quirks of this game I guess and one that will probably not get resolved.
The fragility of the car also seems very different between the online and offline modes of the game. I thought from my practices that they had improved it but based on tonight it's still very off. One of my lost front wings came when I spun but kept it out of the wall and was at a complete stop but then as the car inched forward on the slight incline and just lightly touched the wall.. 100% damage lol. I think they've made the wings out of tissue paper lol.
Anyway, it was good to finally get a solid lobby... onwards and upwards.

XRF HammerPH I have been watching your thread and really felt for you trying to get the series up with the xbox issues - it is a real shame that SMS crow about how the game pushes the boundaries and does more than any other game , but glosses over the fundamental issue like multiplayer Anyways glad you have sorted and a little advice , make sure you manually load your tunes in sessions even if you have carried them over from another session we at seeing some funky issues in TT where a setup is not what you created but is default even if you have saved a tune - it is worth manually checking that any changes are actually showing Good luck an I will be keeping an eye on how you get on

Hey buddy, good to see you back here Thanks for the advice and I'll certainly take that forward as it could be the reason I had such a mare last night. Love the game when it works and based on last night the connection issues we had previously may have been resolved by patch 1.5 so keep your fingers crossed for us going forward. Don't forget if you ever fancy some racing you are more than welcome if you still have your Xbox. Would be good to see you on the grid. It's been good getting the site active again and hopefully that will get even better if we get this league running fully now. Cheers and all the best.

A quick heads up for you guys that mentioned finding a stream for IndyCar races... Mobdro is working fine and I just checked out the BT Sport stream for IndyCar tonight and it's all good so give it a try I'm currently on version 2.1.3 Freemium which is the latest I believe.

So glad we all got a chance to get thru the race. I'd like to echo what inthebagbug said about set ups. We should always confirm that changes were actually saved, and that you load your set up right before the actual race starts before the ready up step. o One thing that I noticed right after patch 5 released was that all the cars that I had (patch 4) set ups for that were stable, were now loosing the rear end and over steering at the front. After going thru all the usual "adjust for" steps, none of them solved the issue until I viewed in chase mode and saw the car seemed overly restricted, tires excessively screeching, and the HUD travel indicator was really high on the opposite side of the turn that was being looked at. I assumed it was too much ARB.
Lowered the ARB and practically all the issues were now minimized. So, I conclude that there may be a bug introduced in the ARB sections.
My method of pre-tune set up will now be to First lower all ARB levels, Raise all Engine Braking levels, and the tune from there adjusting as needed.

I am definitely going to try that next time as there was a night and day difference between how the car felt in my practice a couple of days before and how it was online on Saturday, I just had no confidence to push at all and when I did bad things happened lol. My issue is not to do with the setup changing post patch 5 though as my fastest and most consistent times have been post patch, it's just how there seems to be some very different behaviour of the car in the different modes of the game. Oh and one other thing relating to this is that I was getting the engineer on the radio warning me of the engine temps as early as the 3rd lap and at one point he was saying it was critical. Never had a single such message in practice so again something very different was occurring online.

I had my radiator opening set at 25 % and the temps were 80 ~ 90 degrees.
You might not like this set up, but for me it was how I got control of the rear spin out after ARB and ENB was adjusted.
Boost Pressure: 90 TC: 8 Preload: 30 Clutches: 6 Power Ramp: 85 Coast Ramp: 25 FR ARB: 280 RR ARB: 15

So are we doing this Indycar league? How did the Test go.. I would have loved to stay but I had to do a Enduro Stint (1:45) at Long Beach in a GT3 car. I'm actually looking for a Reserve Driver for our GT3 car for Le Mans since I'll be away on Business during that race date. You only have to do (2) 1:45 hr stints at Le Mans in a Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Hi Mike, We are set to go with the opening round now taking place on the 5th May. The schedule has been revised with the new dates going forward here:- consoleracing.boards.net/thread/391/indycar-scheduleThe test went wqell in terms of connectivity on Saturday and everyone got in and there were no discoes or connection hiccups so hopefully that's a sign that patch 5 has made some significant improvements. Doing the various things suggested like disabling iPv6 and clearing the memory using the method that Pete described as well can't have harmed things so if you haven;t already done them it would be wise to do so before the race. That endurance race sounds interesting Mike.. what date is that?

Let me know what sort of times are begin aimed at for the LeMans event Mike and i'll have a test as soon as I can and see if I would be up to speed for it.

You're more than welcome here Sgt and probably better that you start here than the last race at Long Beach which was a real car breaker. COTA should be a very different affair with lots of run off area. Looking forward to taking the car around there for the first time.
