The 1:35's times were in online multiplayer practice and I set the car to equal, so I guess I was in the Merc then. I'm never sure if the online car is set to the Merc or Ferrari so I just do my league car when offline practice. I'll try the Merc offline today and see how that feels because yesterday I did offline in the Renault and online in the equal 'Renault' and they felt a bit different with the same setup. Oh ok, fair enough. The whole online equal car issue has never really been clarified but i've always assumed it is based on the currentlu top car. It used to be based around the Red Bull but in the current era it's been the Merc. From memory they try to implement each cars characteristics but based around the fundamentals of one car. Not sure there's been anything changed in that as I haven't actually looked into it for a long time.

I managed to finish my race this morning. Held onto 6th place but fit paper by Hamilton on the penultimate lap 😞. Had a good fight with Raikonnen fur 6tg for a while but he fell away about 5 laid from the end.
Got into the 34's over the final 8 laps but the cars ahead all made 33's while Hamilton and Vettell were in the 32's. My best lap was the 6th fastest so 6th place is about where I am meant to be the moment I guess.
Had a quick look at the eSports event here and it's a rain one.. I gave that up after a few attempts, couldn't keep the car stable at all in the wet 😖. Are those events where everyone improves their rating or do they not count against that?

My abilities in this game are suspect to begin with. Rain just ruins it.

Well that went about as well as expected!! As soon as I saw it was rain throughout I expected the worst as I've done hardly any wet condition running in this game and struggle enough in the dry let alone wet. Quali was horrible, I could barely keep the car on the track and only managed one timed lap and after spinning on what I hoped was going to be a better lap I retired as I had no time to get back round and do another lap.
Race was actually going ok. I just decided to take it very, very gently and was holding 5th in a good battle with Gareth who was just behind Neale and Dave. Will closed up behind after getting past Mikey and then I had my first spin coming around onto the start finish straight but luckily had no wall contact but before I knew what was going on was collected from behind, race over. Not sure who was behind as my mini map was showing empty when I glanced down at it after spinning but fully expected there to be a single DNF and safety car but it seems I was the only one out and as usual no safety car 🤪
At least I get to watch the Niners live now but still disappointing to have another frustrating one.

Was pretty sad to see whole race was wet, wasn't sure I would last until the end and that proved right when I crashed and broke the front wheel under the flyover after exiting degna 2.
Qualy was decent enough, crashed on my first run but put a time in on my second that got me 7th after dong no wet practice so couldn't complain I guess.
The race start was a little tricky, a few slower starters ahead of me and an incident through turns 1 to 2 ahead ended up with me touching what I think was an alfa over to the right and got some wing damage heading into the esses. I held 3rd for a while but then lost a couple of places to I think Alex and someone else before seeing Peter gaining on me and getting pretty close a few times, especially through the esses. A couple of laps later I went a bit deep into the hairpin and Peter got side-by-side on the run down to spoon, I tried to keep right but was dipping onto the grass a bit and luckily we didn't touch.
Had another moment at the hairpin a few laps later which gave me a red wing so came in to pit thinking that was the last of the understeer, how wrong I was. In the laps that followed coming into the pits for new tyres and a new wing, the car felt worse and harder to drive, how the hell does that happen. I lost places to Will and Mike before crashing out not having fun with a bizarre feeling car. Not sure I'll sign up again before Brazil so see you guys then. Including you Peter.

Well, first off... Thanks for the massive block at the final chicane in Qually Micko, gotta check your map or use the arrows cause I nearly went sailing over the back of you and I was two seconds up on my time, and then you went into the pits!? D:
Race was over before it began, thankfully I only ended up really losing one position in the end. But pulled a Seb and jumped the start which bogged me down and yet again Neal got the worst of it 😂 Sorry there chief, it's not a habit I swear. Did the drive through, came out, spun up the hill before the Degna 1, and chopped half the wing off, so back into the pits I went. Then had fun chasing Micko down (sorry about the punt up the arse at the hairpin, you breaked earlier than I expected) managed to get past eventually, then chasing Dink down who let me past for some reason, then was a lonely race of trying to recover well over a minute to the next guy up the road hoping for a safety car or something but it never happened.
Overall, just happy to finish to be honest and can we PLEASE set Mexico to dry 😂 Can't be five wet races in a row.

Q 4 R 3
Was in 3rd to start and I don't remember who spun, Will maybe. I dinged my wing orange and tried to see if I could hang onto 2nd long enough for a 1 pit race. Spun around designers on the 2nd lap and just let the field go by rather than pull a Vettel by trying to jump back in and ruining someone else's race. Figure karma would be a good thing.lol Sucks, but it worked out as there was a Yellow by the time I got back to the pits.
Thrilled to get a podium out of it with 3 pits! Such a hard track to race in the rain.

Q7 R DNF After seeing the weather and hastily putting a wet setup on the car I qualified in P7 but thought I could have gone quicker. Got quite a good start and made the most of Alex and Neale bogging down when the lights went out then found myself in P2 after the incident before the Esses. Found a fairly good rhythm early on and ran some consistent laps but as the tyres began to lose grip I began to make small errors that cost large chunks of time and ended up falling back through the field, had some great laps battling with Will but it all came to an end when I got on the throttle too aggressively exiting Spoon and tore the LHF corner off. Onwards to Mexico 👍🏻

Now that Mitch mentioned it, surprised there was no real safety car this race. Had some yellows and maybe a VSC or two, tops.
Rain is a bitch for sure, especially racing in the cockpit. Can't see anything.lol

Safety car is definitely fucked up in the game. No question it should have come out after my incident at the final corner. Not sure who it was that collected me but with my car in bits, their car should have taken damage too so it would be a bolted on SC. What exactly did it come out for in Russia?

Peter, I pressed the wrong button 🥵 have edited the post now. Why don’t we change the rules so we can mirror the real life conditions at least we will have some notice of impending weather?

Peter, I pressed the wrong button 🥵 have edited the post now. Why don’t we change the rules so we can mirror the real life conditions at least we will have some notice of impending weather? I've re-edited it as for some reason your response was tiny and down in the bottom corner :/ Funnily enough Micko that was exactly my thoughts as I was walking in to work today. We have always aimed for utmost realism wherever possible and as we always know the conditions the real life race was run in to me it makes perfect sense to use that information to give everyone the most realistic race possible. Having 5 successive rain effected races is just completely unrealistic. When was the last time that actually happened in the real world? Certainly outside the scope of my memory lol. I'll put up a poll this morning to that effect to see what others thoughts are about it.

I agree that we should replicate the weather conditions from the Grand Prix, we have done this in the Indycar series successfully, if we post the weather forecast on the Friday before the race that would give people time to fine tune their setups

The poll is here:- consoleracing.boards.net/thread/563/race-weather-match-realIf you don't make your choice by close of play Friday don;t moan if the result is not to your liking If the real world weather is the decision we will match the actual race conditions that afternoon as close as the game allows.

Q - 2 R - DNF
Had a good start off the line & took the lead into turn 1, then i touched tyres with boothy & spun putting me last, also ended up with wing damage but decided not to pit as i was far enough behind everyone. Managed to work my way up to 3rd & had fun doing so. After my pit stop & a change of front wing i was back upto race pace & was closing in on neale in 2nd place but the i lost it around 130R & ended up with no wheels on the front of my car! Peter i was behind you went you had your incident, to me it looked like you went over that bump at the pit entry & your car shot over to the right, i thought you was either pitting (last min) or the bump screwed you over? I was a good car length or 2 behind you & just went around you. Don't think anyone else was around us?
