I'll try and make it to this practice session and help. Maybe we could go over your wheel settings too. It really makes a huge difference. That's sounds good however I did some research and adjusted the settings a little bit and when I went back on track for some offline testing it was much more stable I think my main problem was lack of experience, it was my first race and although I have raced the indycars offline I was not prepared for the lack of traction. As soon as I moved onto the blacks on lap 23 I felt much more traction and I could get some decent laps in. I hope I do much better in two weeks than on Saturday. I'll see you in 4 days.

Pretty sure I can break for a practice session. I’ll be prepping bikes for the first off-road trip of the year to Moab.

If we can start the session at 9pm UK time that could work out.

My first run out here will be in the Saturday online session. We did race here last year and had a really good race.. can't remember who won that one.. hmmm. oh hang on it was me Some god racing with Rich for the first stint and then a very close thing on fuel for me at the end having to desperately save fuel for the last 3 laps but luckily had a big enough lead to manage that and crossed the line with 0.1 litres left lol. The first corner and esses can be very tough and it's a difficult one to get the car setup right with the mixture of corners.

I did have a quick run the other might in an online session and did have some issues with the steering again (like at Willow Springs). I'll have to do some laps offline and then some laps online and compare. I am away this weekend at the in-laws though (pray for me), so i'll miss this session unfortunately

One of the things we’ve learnt during racing on PCars2 is that the track conditions are never the same in any session, so if you have a good setup in an off line practice it may not translate into a good online race setup and vice versa,

Good luck this weekend lol

It was the first video I made for consoleracing, and currently on screwtube until I can find another home for it:

Who wants to set everything up tonight for the practice session because I have none of you guys on my friends list I added you to my friends list this morning. I can set it up as everyone seems to have a stable connection when I host in our other league. I'll be back on xbox in about 2 hours or so 😉

COTA sign up thread will be up in the morning as will the result and table after Willow. Been a hectic week personally and at work so haven't been able to get it done up to now but will try to make sure it's done the Monday/Tuesday following each race from now on.

Good practice session yesterday guys.
We figured out that FFB/wheel problems for our Vanilla Xboxers occur when there are more than about 6 or 7 cars on the track. Me and Charlie (FormulaRex) started a public lobby and at one point there were 11 people. That's when his wheel problems started like he Rich and Karl had at Willow Springs. I remember Peter Stefani (Shneeb108) saying that's when his wheel problems started too. I don't think there's anything we can do about it unfortunately.😔
Other than that, we got in some decent practice and kind of know what we're going to be walking into this Saturday. The rear tyres like to heat up first and dispite the massive amount of tyre scrubbing at CotA they stay at racing temperature very nicely.
Let me know if you want anymore help Charlie, CotA is tricky. I still don't have my racing lines where i'd like them to be, especially by turn 9 and 13. Keep at it and remember to be steady before being fast. The speed will come after that😉

I have to admit the steering is an issue and I’m trying to see if there is any way to sort it out just in case it’s not the console but I’ll still try to get a good finish on race day nevertheless. How’s everyone’s times round here? My highest is a 1 minute 52.8 seconds.

You're welcome Charlie, my goal is to have the racing so close that we're all trading positions almost constantly, like Mario Kart but without all the crashing and items lol. Your times are close to race pace so continue what you're doing. If you're using a Thrustmaster wheel (any kind), I recommend using the following force feedback settings provided by The Simgirl on the Project Cars 2 forums. They have really helped me: Flavour: Raw Gain: 95 (turn this down and keep turning it down to help with shaking and if you're having any other FFB problems when you're on the Vanilla Xbox) Volume: 21 Tone: 90 FX: 30 Menu spring strength: 0.20
