Sorry had to bail... Had to take a phone call and tbh I wasn't at the races here anyway. Practice was rubbish, not sure I got a clean lap in, car felt very different to my ten laps yesterday. Quali was better and I at least got closer to the back of the pack. Race was ok until two spins put me a long way down and then the call came so I called it a night.
Not a fun one for me, definitely not a track where the default setup could be competetive. If I can get the time for practice and setup work I'll hopefully see you at the next round at Snetterton but it's a bit close to Christmas so may be tricky especially with two other races to prep for that week.
Hope your races were more fun.

I checked and Replay 3 saved even though it never said it completed whew*😪
More great racing tonight. The Emperor is probably very pleased with Stormtrooper's victories lol and congratulations to Tommy's win too, all well deserved.
Keeping it short because im tired lol

Thanks Tyler. Still chasing that illusive triple win! 🙈 Roll on Snetterton next (I thought it was Oschersleben, but no)

Again my congratulations to everyone who competed this evening, I thought that was the best race meeting we’ve done in this series so far, excellent standard of competitive league racing from the back to the front of the field. Congratulations also to Tommy and Stu for their wins and now that the rest of us are closing the gap to the sharp end of the grid I’m hoping for even closer battles to come over the next race meetings.
My best race was race 3, after getting a good start from P4 and avoiding the carnage in front I found myself in P3 and keeping pace with Dan and Stu in front but as the race unfolded I began to loose touch with them, falling back into Tommy’s clutches, as I began to take defensive lines to keep him behind me the front 2 pulled away until I went wide into Cascades and coming together with Tyler and Tommy, going 2 wide into Hislops Tyler and I came together and ended up in the hedge.
Overall a throughly enjoyable and exciting evenings racing.

Sorry I missed this all - was very sick and sadly self induced. I was all practiced and tuned and really looking forward to it.

As far as tuning goes for these Touring Cars, I don't change anything inbetween the races because I find I get faster the more time I spend with a specific tune. I still have a lot to learn with setups obviously, we have some very skilled challengers right now! But I use the SMS stable setup and change things from there. The most important thing is the gearing and final drive for the track your running. Once you've got that, making tiny adjustments here and there is your best bet. I'm probably saying the obvious but it's because I frequently suffer from making too many changes at once lmao.

Here's my vid of our season closer at Oulton Park. What a great season of tight racing. Sorry about the stream break-up in parts, wish I could find a way to stop it

To watch all three races it’s so good to see the competitiveness and respect everyone has for each other on track especially when we’re all so wheel to wheel now and more somat Oulton Park which is a skinny circuit which is so easy to spin out. The championship seems to now have really closed together and everyone looks like there having fun battles throughout the grid

I'm probably saying the obvious but it's because I frequently suffer from making too many changes at once lmao. FWD Touring Cars are fairly simple to set up, fundamentally the rear of the car needs to be as stiff as possible and opposite at the front. As the front tyres do all the work they generate a lot of heat quickly and need to be controlled, as the rear tyres do little in the way of temperatures, the best way to get heat into them is to toe them in fractionally. On a real Touring car the rear tyres are run on the front of the car on the lap to form the grid then the tyres are diagonally swapped to keep some heat in the rear of the car. To cure understeer then adjust the negative camber by fractions of degrees until you find the sweet spot, but the real trick is to adjust the diff to suit your driving style, in escence it needs to be locked almost solid but with a low viscous lock but again personal preference is key. Hope that helps 🙂

I rarely have the time to devote to setup work these days and invariably just go with the default and make the best of that.
