Q: 2 R: 2
Quali: I kept going deep into turns 1 and 6 and even 16. If I hooked it all up I think I could've challenged Boothy a little more. Well done to get Pole Boothy!
Race: I had a pretty bad start (or Neale had a great one)! Neale got me off the line and I fell into P3. I tried to stay to the outside of turn 1 but realized I sort of cut off the apex to the two behind me (I think Karl and Rob, I'm sorry if I did cut you off). I started to make small mistakes almost immediately and just did not feel comfortable on full fuel, Boothy and Neale began to dash ahead. On lap 4 Boothy had an incident and I got past him through turn 10 (my only overtake for position of the race). I set on trying to catch Neale but he had some serious pace, the gap just kept increasing. I had a half spin the lap before my first stop which left Neale nearly 10 seconds ahead.
Came out of the pits behind Boothy, but was gaining on him quickly with the fresh tyres. He dove in on the next lap and I found myself 6 seconds behind Neale. Started setting some fastest laps and was bringing down the gap to Neale. I got the gap down to about 2 seconds but just couldn't close it any further. We each pitted on lap 32. Setting up an epic, all square, chase for the final 25 laps.
I brought the gap down to about 1.5 seconds, as Neale and myself began trading fastest laps. My headphones stopped work right after this point (couldn't talk on comms) and I almost drove straight into a wall trying to mess with them. My moment pushed the gap back to about 7 seconds. With 10 laps to go the gap was down to just 4 seconds (didn't know if Neale had an issue or was just saving fuel and battery). On lap 55 I had the gap down to 1.5 but then added too much accelerator in turn 1 and spun into the wall losing my front wing. I had to limp back to the pits and then thwart Karl's plan for fastest lap!
For a race with only one overtake for myself that certainly was a great duel. Congrats on the maiden win Neale! You did great to keep it quick and consistent. Sorry Karl, if I hadn't binned it chasing Neale the fastest lap would've been yours. Luckily to all the DNFer's and wall-basher's like myself there are less walls in play at Bahrain.

My apologies to both Haas drivers as I believe I punted you both on lap 1. Q: Had to avoid a car in the apex of turn 11 and spun into the grass. Was DQ'd turning the car around. R: This game is too much for me. I can't understand my lack of ability/pace. Crashed out on lap 5 or so. To be so far off pace is embarrassing. What sort of setup are you using Greg? Make sure to not have the ballast too far to the rear as that really makes the car unstable into the corners. Try the setup I used to see if it makes things any more manageable for you as that was fairly stable, you can grab it from my TT ghost. I'll give yours a go. I used a Youtubers esports setup as I'm not much of a tuner in any of these games. He had done a 1:19.xxx quali with it. My best quali practice was 8 seconds off that which is almost comical. That's 1/2 second in every corner, just dumbfounding. Only thing I changed on his was lowering the acel dif so it wasn't so harsh on corner exit which is where I'm losing it most of the time. If I mess with more I either cant tell the difference or I go slower.
I know some (maybe all) of you are playing with fuel mix lap to lap and that blows my mind. Everything is happening so fast corner to corner it takes all my effort just to stay on track. I know in PCars I'm not the fastest but against the same people in F1 my pace is just non-existent. I should have taken the Williams as it's my real last name and my real life pace

Gutted to have crashed out, wouldn't have minded a podium, but was just happy with my pace and consistency for my first proper race with the wheel. Not entirely sure what happened though, the SS just got really slippery for some reason so at T5 it just span into the wall with no hope 🤷🏻♂️ Shame as was having a right proper scrap with Karl, but oh well, long season so plenty of time. It was a lot of fun until your unfortunate exit. I fear you may have got me in the last part of the race with your tyre strategy. I'm looking forward to this season racing you wheel to wheel. How did you find adjusting to the wheel?

Q had a fair first stint on SS then decided to go out on US and put in a stomping lap which ended me up in 3rd for race . R had a fantastic start of line which got me up to 2nd for first corner then managed to keep with boothy with Alex close behind then there it was boothy had a moment passed with ease. I was leading with Alex following. And that’s that 😂 did have a few issues here and there but nothing to worry about . What am I saying it was hell! I was F cked by the end of the race my legs were aching,my finger was killing me just from changing gears on paddle . boy did I enjoy crossing that line in first 😝😃😝 Thank you Alex for keeping the pressure on me and not letting me rest😩 😂 Great evening well done to finishers and podium boys and everyone else. Thank you from Australian Grand Prix WINNER, leader of the championship 😜😂😂. Thank you again to all my fans out there for their support so many people out there said I couldn’t do it and I have proven them wrong 😂😂😂😂 Excellent job there Neale. Well deserved win for you. Congratulations. Also, thanks for letting me back on the lead lap at the end. Much appreciated.

If it's setup related you can always grab setups from the TT time sheets. If you look at your friends list in TT you can copy their setup and try it out. Save it and try it in GP mode. EDIT - I see now Peter has already explained getting setups from other drivers...lol

How did you find adjusting to the wheel? Felt like I picked it up surprisingly quick to be honest, considering I've only really managed to get about a weeks of practice with it before hand. Biggest problem is sliding back on the floor in the chair on the wood flooring 😄 Definitely, we should be in for a good close season, but hopefully not too close 😏

My quali was a little jumbled. Was sitting in the pitbox trying to get the drivers that were dropped back into the session. Glad all we able to get to the race mode in the end. I did a sloppy first lap then tried it again. Started P4 with probably my PB quali time. The race was a little nerve racking. My start was ok but had a slight bump into T1 and wound up on the grass. When i rejoined i was well down the list. Didn't take any damage though so that was good. Made my way through some other incidents early on and found myself chasing Mitch. We swapped spots a few times and it was looking like we would continue to do that till the end of the race. He was on a different tyre strategy and likely would have got me in the end, but he had an unfortunate incident just as i was coming in for my last pit stop. After that i was mostly alone. Near the end of the race Neale and Alec were fighting for P1 and 50 seconds ahead and Railer was a lap behind me in P4, So i decided to try for the extra point for fast lap. Put on fresh Ultras and did a stunner of a lap. Unfortunately while Alec was chasing down Neale he crashed and needed to pit. Of course he put Ultras on and beat my fastest lap. Worst part of it all is that if i had stayed out instead of pitting for fast tyres i may have taken P2 from Alec after his incident... UGH. one of those Damned if you do, damned if you don't moments in the end....lol.
congratulations to Neale for the win and Alec on the podium. And congratulations to all the new guys and those that finished.

I was a reasonably quick driver as well but since breaking my ankle 18-24 months ago I have dropped off the pace big time and can’t find where I am going wrong either. By all means add me as a friend and look me up online for a meeting.. Keep with it. It will come. ..(I need it too) lol

Free tip go into Time Trial and steal a setup from there and tweak it to your suiting Yeah that kind of a great way if you know what each of the settings do, I would say in most cases not a lot changes on a tweak unless you are absolutely sure what you are doing.. that’s only my opinion, sometimes you get lucky though. I have a friend who uses just the standard settings and just changes the fuel levels for Quali and race and he is always 4-5 secs quicker than me... A lot is due to driving style and aggression on steering.. slow and smooth is much better than quick aggressive movements. Just saying... Concentrate on slow in fast out and smooth wheel use, hitting the apex on every corner will get you better times. Personally I think that’s where I fall down.. ..
