How come you aren't racing Peter, Family visiting? My participation going forward is up in the air at present. I am struggling to get my head back into the game having spent the limited spare time I have on pCars 2 and I have yet to have a single practice race this season. I am someone that needs to have plenty of practice to get anywhere near race ready and that just hasn't been possible so far. I've struggled to make the start time for races so far as well which doesn't help led to my just missing out on the last one. I did get on for a brief spell last night but best I could muster in free practice was 44's (in the Haas in multiplayer mode) but I could barely get a clean lap in. TT I did a handful of laps but 1:42 was the best I managed again in the Haas. Don't worry about that Peter I've only managed a handful of laps in TT around here as well so you probably won't be alone 😄

so how is everyone's practice going for it. only got 5 signed up which is a shame =[ Lots of people away this weekend seemingly Still learning the circuit but getting to grips with it slowly, been running laps in the Merc and getting low 47’s on TT, slightly slower in the McLaren but with some more practice I’ll try and shave a few more 10ths off. Hopefully 1 of our Indy drivers might make an appearance in this race, so DrBL4CKOUT (Luke) and I are going to run some practice laps later but Luke is in Race Support at work this weekend and may not be home in time to race on Sunday but we’ll see. Stick with it,the more laps you do the better u get,it’s taken me along time and a lot of tinkering with my seating setup as well as car setup I have even done some drastic stuff with my wheel as some know about but won’t go there 😜 but nowhere near what some racers can do think may be the age issue 😝 but great to race with a great bunch. Hope you make the race

I'll do my best to make the race tonight. Was up all night, not getting to bed until gone 5 and up again at 7:30. Only just home so need some shuteye before I do anything else.
Did get a little practice in on Friday night, 1:42.002 in TT and then in a quali session got into the mid 1:40's. Early race pace was 1:47/48's dropping to 1:44's when I quit the race at the 35 lap mark after a mid race spell of rain which was very tricky.
Good luck everyone.

Good luck to everyone and I’ll try to not crash into turn 1. Also apologies in advance to anyone who I hold up or accidentally hit, its my first f1 2018 league race so I’m pretty inexperienced

Q 7 R DNF
Extremely happy with a 1:42.3 in quali and was really looking forward to a long race. Thats the most practice I'd put in and it paid off.
Unfortunately I was unable to test my race pace. I had my rear end hit and lifted off the ground going into turn 1. This caused my front to spear Peter (of course) in the side. I then had a severely broken car that would not turn into Turn 2. Race over. Damn I wish I could have raced this one.

Q12 RDNF Had good start made up 1 spot then moved over to the right. As I got there a toro rosso moved left. I was on the brakes for turn 1 and my teammate was in front. I was carrying too much speed or teammate was going slower. I tapped his right rear. Caused slight damage to left front wing. Going into turn 2, teammate was in the wall. I hit the brakes and he just ghosted and I tapped the barrier. Front wing needed replaced. Hurtmagurt I am sorry for the turn 1 incident. I pitted and replaced wing and switched to SS. Got out on track was doing good pace but got sandwiched behind a toro rosso and a mclaren behind. Coming into turn 1 the mclaren I'm guessing did a late brake. I had my line set for the turn in and got my front wing damaged and got knocked wide and was in the run off area. Spun around and was going to pit again. Turned into turn 3 but had no front wing and hit barrier. Race over.

I had done a few practice starts that were pure chaos with a full grid. Peter got a slow start and I just really was trying hard to not hit him. That turn 1 comes up fast from the start and breaking is at its worst at that point. Tough all around for Force India.

Q: 6 I think? R: 2
Jesus that was horrible, made up a couple of spots from the T1 chaos and was chillin' in 4th and then Alec goes out, Boothy goes out, Neal tries to take me out at the castle, by blocking the entire thing 😬 so was sitting in 2nd for the rest of the race, just driving around like a grandma trying to keep the gap to Peter as big as possible.
Despite the commentary I weren't doing that last lap 😂
Had some funky run ins with one of the McLarens in Qually and the race, don't know what that was about but oh well, can't complain with the end result 🤷🏻♂️

Well, after the carnage at the start I was going quite well in 4th with a few laps to go. Then the two pints I had watching the footy kicked in so I parked the car in the pits and went for a peeeeee. When I came back the car had come out of the pits crashed and I was Disqualified....lesson learnt 😡🙈

Q 8th R DNF
Had what I thought was a reasonable qualifying time 1:43. Anyway got hit up the rear on turn one, managed to get going again and continued racing only to collect a 5 second stop / go penalty for avoiding a collision... Weird.. 3 laps later hit the wall , no front wheel game over... damn track... lol..
Onwards and upwards to the next race.. Thanks guys. Well done to all those that finished and attended..

Q10 R P4 Wasn’t expecting to be in the top 5 at the end of this race but after the T1 chaos I ended up making up several places and after a few more laps I was closing in on Railer on the start/finish straight and he left the door open going into the corner, I outbraked him on the inside but he didn’t see me and we made contact with Railer coming off worse so apologies for that. After that I was pretty much on my own during the race as I didn’t have the pace to compete with the front runners and several shunts leading to a 6 Stop strategy left me 5 laps behind.
That said, I have really enjoyed racing with you all and thanks for all the help and support and I’m looking forward to the start of the Euro season in 2 weeks.
Cheers
Dave

Which is weird cause in an offline practice session it came out simply because I went down one of the run offs 😂

Q-2 R-1 Quali was great for me. First lap was ok with a 1:40.5xx, then on my second run i managed to just dip into the 39s with a 1:39.973 which was a personal best. Didn't expect to stay there really. Was half expecting Alex to manage a quick time on his last run. But in the end it turned out to be Boothy with his amazing 1:39.500 Race start i was just trying not to screw up. I got away well and was keeping pace up to the first turn but hit the brakes a little late and wound up a deep. I managed to keep it off the outside wall though and then heard about contact in the field behind. I think someone said they went into the back of me a little but i didn't feel anything. It's hard to see on my video as the mirrors are only slightly in view from the cockpit. Anyway, i had a quick look back after making it though turn one and there was a gap behind so i tried to focus on boothy up front. Turn 2 went well but then on the straight up to T3 the VSC was called. I can only assume it was for an incident at T2 involving Greg as it came out just as he left the game. I think i had a bit of an issue keeping the gap under the VSC. When i looked at the delta time i had over a second in the green so i started to try and catch up but the green light came way before i could catch it up. I hope i didn't cause too much issue for the guys behind because of that. I know Alec went out soon after that, if i had a part in your crash I apologize. I passed boothy at the end of lap 2 but almost destroyed my race by running deep into Turn 1 and nearly clipping the wall. That allowed Matt to have a run at me up to T2 and i think we went though there side by side. I managed to keep the position down the straight to T3 and then gradually built a gap. Stopped for tyres at the end of lap 9 and rejoined in P1. Stopped again at lap 30ish and went to the end without damage (although there were a couple scary moments). Happy to have the win. I felt really comfortable with the car and the track. Too bad there were so many other incidents and DNFs though. Looking at last years Baku race we had 13 start and 12 finish, so this years race (12 starters and 4 finishers) seems out of the ordinary. The good thing about the next race is there is lots of run off areas, so a mistakes shouldn't be a disastrous. Video here. Race start at 23min mark mixer.com/niblips2?vod=100779363
