I had slightly better success in my testing last night with this car. It's still difficult to drive, and once you're in a spin it's hard to get out of it, but i feel better about the race tonight. Best lap was a 1:29.5, so still off the pace but i think the more time i spend with the car the easier it will be to find the lap time. I struggle under braking with this thing which is likely where i'm losing all the lap time.

25.3 is mega fast for vintage tyres. I've had a few times in the other series where i've thought I was on vintage but found I wasn't lol. I had a run out tonight and got into the 28's but I'm not comfortable with this car at the moment and it's going to take a couple of races to feel more at ease with it. It's difficult to find any real feel for it still but hopefully that will come with more practice. I'm generally pretty strong at this track but bit so confident in this car here at the moment. It's odd cos it said my setup was loaded but since been back into the 27's so fack knows what happened

As in at the start of practice, at the start of qualifying, and most definitely 100% before the 2mim countdown before the race starts. It's a pain in the arse at first but once you get into the routine it's not so bad.

If you load a default setup and only change the tyre compound and nothing else the tyres dont actually change. It stays at the suggested tyre compound which is always track tyres unless its raining. You have to change at least one other parameter for the tyre compound to change. Even just moving the tyre pressures up and down one click works. So that might be the problem you had Boothy.

Well done on the opening round victory Tyler and Boothy and Greg for the podium places. Don't get too comfortable up there guys, Team Lotus will be back firing on all cylinders in our quest for Championship number 4 😉.
I'm pleased to announce that my fuel problem was simply a brain fade n my part and not a game related issue. I increased the fuel to 88 alright only trouble was it was 88 laps instead of litres.. doh!! 🤣😂
Whether that was the sole reason for my problems is difficult to say but it's fair to say with double the fuel in the tank the handling would suffer and my braking points had to be moved way earlier than in practice as a result. But the constant spins were a bit strange... Only 2 clean laps in the first 13 and two long pit stops put me a long way down before the race was one third over. But I had some decent laps after that as the fuel level dropped.
Bit of a strange car this one... Can't be treated the same way as the earlier 49 which you can throw into the corners and counter steer as it gets out of shape. This one doesn't have that same nice balance probably due to the very different aero and increased weight. I'm sure it will be fun though.

Had a terrible start got ballsy on the brakes and it didn't work started working my way back up the field. Sorry to Dakinca? i braked really early and tapped the back of him and off popped his rear tyre. Still not entirely sure what happened with Peter pulled out from behind him then suddenly he was heading off track guessing caught him with my rear wheel. After that had a battle with Tyler until i binned it and lost a tyre myself went back to the pit for 2 and a half minutes then started working my way back past people and unlapping myself started to gain real confidence in the car to the point i was braking later then i was. Not sure what happened to Greg was 2nd then randomly pitted for ages.
Really enjoyed the car anything that involves drifty stuff and lift off oversteer is my jam.

ugh, what a forgettable race for me. Haven't figured out the car. Probably ran my pressures way too low. Had handling/physics issues through part of the circuit for most of the laps. Stopped several times to see if pitting would fix it, it did not. Finished confused and in P6. lol

A last minute gearing setup from my teammate Tyler was a game changer! We could have had a 1-2 finish for the team but I blew it by scraping the wall after making the left turn into the pits. It did more damage than it should have so I had to do an almost 2 minute pit with 8 laps left. This put me down behind Matt and BCK. I was catching BCK over those final laps, but I don't think I would have passed him on normal pace.Then he went off on turn 4 of the last lap. Real tough for him but it at least put me back on the podium. Looking forward to a good season.

We all managed to make it home except for an unfortunate Dan. I don't know what happened but he stayed in the lobby like a champ.
I hope everyone had fun, now it's onto the slightly wider Portugal, similar to Catalunya next!

I've had testing at Algarve already. it's a fun place that should offer up some great racing as there are different racing lines available for some of the corners.
