Q P3 R P4
Gents,
What a fabulous nights racing and as Tyler has said a big thankyou to Micko and Tommy for stepping in at very short notice. Credit to you both for competing and making our event a memorable race.
I had best qualifying of this season and for a time was hanging on to P2, until Greg pipped me by a few tenths and bumped me into 3rd on the grid.
I started the race on the Red tyres with 5 laps of fuel so I could put in some quick laps at the start and managed to avoid the chaos in T1 and found myself racing Tyler for P2 for the opening laps until I had an opportunity to overtake which I took into Turn 1 on Lap 3with a nice move to the inside underneath my team mate, I knew I had to push hard to make any kind of challenge for P2 or maybe the lead. I pitted on Lap5 and fitted the Primes and got a full tank of fuel and came out in P3 about 23 seconds behind Tyler and just a handful of seconds in front of Karl in P4, I found the balance of the harder tyres quickly and began to haul back Tyler who was on older rubber. Tyler pitted and came out just 4 seconds in front and as I had much less fuel and hotter tyres I began to chip away at his lead but was unable to get close enough to make an overtake attempt then had to pit myself for fuel and tyres, came out again around 22 seconds behind Tyler and just in front of Karl and pushed on the fresh rubber to close the gap on Tyler in P2 and after Tylers 2nd stop I had closed the gap by 2 seconds but again didn't have the advantage to mount a challenge for P2. During the 3rd stint I had to manage my strategy settings and had a small lack of concentration which caused some damage and another unscheduled stop relegating me to P5 until I got passed Greg and Mick and finished the race in a respectable 4th.
Congratulation to Daz for another excellent win, fastest lap and Pole position and to Tyler and Karl for their podium finish.
Lastly and big thanks to everyone for your support in our little league, we couldn't do any of this without you all.
Cheers
Dave

Thanks for the invite Dave I enjoyed myself but my lack of track time made me a bit rusty in an Indy car. My race ended after several shunts with a DQ for pit lane speeding. I’m not a great fan of ovals but would love to join you for the non Oval events if there is room. Good to touch base with you guys 👌

Q 2 R 5
I am my own worst enemy.
Quail went very well. I did a 1:24.988 on my first flying lap but knew I messed up the toe of the boot. A few aborted attempts and a great time by Dave had me sitting in 3rd. Then went out as time was finishing up and ran about my perfect lap, a 1:24.701 to jump back up to 2nd. Still using a slightly modified version of Daz's setup and it is a stable beast.
Race started well up thru the "S" and I was right on Daz with Dave right on my rear. With lap 1 tire and brake temps and full fuel I went just a bit deep into the bus stop. When I flicked it back left the back end came around and I clipped my wing on dave as he squeaked by. I think I caused everyone else to make evading moves and apologize for any additional accidents I caused.
Pitting at the end of lap 1 I put on blacks for my only stint on the prime and soldiered on. Stint 3 was back on the Reds and I had a good time catching up to Karl, even tho I was a lap down. I could have sat behind him until my next stop and wasn't trying to pressure but ultimately he was pushing and was upset by the curbs in the 2nd to last turn and I got past.
With 15 laps remaining I put on Reds again and came out in 4th, 6 seconds behind Karl and 15 seconds ahead of Dave. We were both catching Karl who was using up every bit of tire to get to the end. I closed the gap to within 2.5 sec then had bonehead crash number 2. Coming into the the tight uphill left at the end of the boot I lost the rear end on entry which was really strange. I took suspension and wing damage. Knowing that there was a few laps gap after Dave I attempted to finish 4th with all that damage. I was on edge and Dave was catching rapidly when I lost it in the last turn. Too much damage to drive clean. Pit and repaired and finished in a very lonely 5th.
It's a shame I can't keep it clean for a whole race. I like the Glen a lot and with Daz's setup I was really hooked up. Probably should have been on a podium. Oh well. Congrats to all and thanks to Micko and Tommy for joining, it's so much better with a bigger group.

Fun race on Saturday. I started from P4 and was too cautious going into the first turn. I was also slow coming out of it and may have caused a little bit of panicking to the guys behind, sorry about that. Then i had a spin coming out of the chicane at the top of the circuit and lost a few seconds righting myself. Luckily i didn't take any damage, but i did wind up at the back. Tried to settle down but i think it was 12 or more laps before i felt comfortable, and that was only after having another spin in that chicane. After the first stop i felt a bit better and was starting to push. I was in P3 and Greg was catching me up. I was trying to keep ahead and had to push more than i felt comfortable doing. Then Daz came around to lap us on Lap 26. I let him by and started to push again and went wide on the exit of T10 and when i rejoined the track it threw me left into the barrier. Greg got by unscathed and i dove into the pits to repair my suspension and front wing. The early stop meant i would no longer be able to save the red tyres for a short stint at the end of the race but would have to take them for a much longer stint. Anyway, i rejoined the race in P4 behind Dave and was just trying to keep clean laps for a whole stint, which almost worked out... lol. On lap 42 i had just rec'd the motice to pit because i was low on fuel but coming out of the chicane i had a wobble and wound up in the wall again. I had completely lost my front wing and took some severe damage to my front left suspension. I was in P3 at the time and figured i had just thrown away the podium. I limped back to the pits for the long repair and to finally put the red tyres on, but figured i wouldn't make it to the end on them as there was still a full stint to go. I rejoined in P5 just behind Miko and with Greg a good 20 seconds up the road. Miko said he was nursing some damage and he was planning to let me by i think, but he had a spin in the Toe section and destroyed his front wing. I snuck by on the outside to claim P4. A couple laps later i passed Greg while he was making his final pit stop. He rejoined in P4 only about 8 seconds behind me and i thought that was it. I figured he would cvatch me easily when my red tryres started to go off a few laps later, but the tyres didn't go off as quickly as i thought they would....maybe because there was more rubber on the circuit by this point in the race? Anyway,Greg brought the gap down to just a few seconds but then must have had an incidet because he fell away a few laps later. At this point i was tucked up behind tyler (who was a whole lap ahead and in P2) and i just tried to hang on to the end of the race. The wheel shake started with 6 or so laps to go but didn't get as bad here as it has on other circuits. I came home in a surprising third position, and very glad to have it. Good racing from all really. Thomas struggled but he stuck it out and progressed i think as the race got on. I'm sure he has figured everything out now and if he is able to race with us again he'll be much quicker. Too bad my team mate couldn't have made it, he likely would have scored some decent points for the team here, and may have taken the podium off me. Video here: mixer.com/niblips2?vod=110760545Lap 26 incident around the 1h20m mark, second damage incident around 1h43m.

Q - 1 R - 1
Not much to say from last weeks race, managed to go 0.2 quicker than I had done in testing for qualifying, so was happy with that, possibly my strongest race, didn’t make any mistakes and managed to look after the left front for the whole stint to put in consistent laps. Congrats to all involved, nice to see a couple of new guys to the championship. Shame Pete had all his issues in the build up to this, hopefully your back for Texas mate. Didn’t make any substantial changes from the setup I ran at Long Beach and Indy road, just pressures and cooling.

It's great to have you onboard as like I said, it gives everyone that extra something to work towards and push for. I'm slightly faster than I was last season and it's thanks to gents like you. Cheers!

Don’t get me wrong I wish there was someone to battle with, like at Indy when me and Pete were battling for the entire first stint, that was some of the best racing I’ve had on Xbox and completely changed my perspective on Oval racing and thats thanks to racing with you guys. I’m glad your improving and I have noticed the whole field has improved, especially in terms of race pace since the first race.

I’m a big indycar and f1 fan so I’m looking forward to joining this series and hopefully not embrace myself to much.

Your very welcome and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the racing that we do here, all of our series are full distance with no assists, we have various skill levels so not matter how quick you are you’ll find someone to have a race with. As well as our Indy series we also run a F1 World Championship on the same Sunday as the race on Codemasters F1 2019 which is challenging and very enjoyable. Hope you have fun and we’re looking forward to seeing you on the grid. Cheers Dave
