My times are around the 3:44 mark from my testing last week. I say we stick with the original plan which is tmrw or postpone until next Wednesday. 3:44 that's quick.. you sure that's on Vintage tyres? I don't think we can fairly rearrange it for tomorrow seeing as Karl can't make it but could make the originally scheduled day of today. Maybe best to postpone until next Wednesday and just run it then regardless of availability.

My times are always set on Vintage Tyres I have my Gear settings nearly perfect it seems, I can share them here if you'd like. The AI were set at 80/70 or something close to that which helped me push around the uncomfortable spots around the circuit, for race pace I'll probably take it even slower to last the entire session. Maybe it is best we just go ahead with the event tonight then? We'll invite whoever is available

Weird session last night. Very reminiscent for me of Spa last time out in the 25. In practice I had found a solid setup which although not mega quick was stable and seemed capable of managing times around the mid 3:40's. Last night online it was a very different kettle of fish and the car was unstable as hell and the back-end was loose as a prostitutes knickers and I could barely keep the car on track. Going through Masta Kink was much more tricky as I was flat out through there in practice which gave me a much better top speed that I found possible last night where I had to lift and as a result couldn't get the speed I expected. I altered the gearing for the race to try to help that but it just didn't work and I was well down the rev range in top gear so felt really sluggish.
Couldn't handle your setup Tyler.. that 1/0 wing config was too much for me with no practice but now we have another week i'll give it a proper try, taking more care through the corners. I suspect that I will go somewhere more middle ground though and play it a bit safer. Great job by you to be as quick and consistent as you were with it.
Love this track from my old Grand Prix Legends days although it seemed to have a bit more character in that game despite how long ago it was. I have still not yet come to terms with this car though..

The car is different, like Pete said it's that back end. With the online I did in the Lotus 72D at Silverstone Classic, that car seems to behave much more like the modern IndyCar. We'll have to add the AI to the mix next season as that car uses slicks.
The way to go with my setup is braking sooner than you think and coasting around a couple of the tricky corners. Another thing I forgot to mention is I am using 7 for the engine braking. Here's how I take each corner:
-For a flying lap I get up to 4th gear down the start/finish
-Eau Rouge and Raidillon down to 3rd
-Kemmel requires some coasting/braking but I can take it in 4th
-Les Combes is a 3rd gear corner, sometimes 2nd. It's where I spun out last Wednesday but didn't hit anything.
-Haut da la Cote is 4th gear but once the car is up to racing speed you'll get up to 5th just before going around Burnenville
-Going around Burnenville is tricky and that's usually 5th gear
-Before you hit the Malmedy Chicane you'll need to brake down into 4th gear
-I use braking and coasting around the Malmedy Chicane and stay in 4th
-The Masta Straight is flat out until the Masta Kink. That's when I brake and coast slightly. No shifting required through the Kink.
-I stay in 5th on the Holowell Straight with coasting and braking while going up the right turn hill. I shift down to 4th at the top which is Stavelot
-La Carrière is 5th gear through the camp ground but down to 4th gear for the first right, then back up to 5th
-You'll want to shift back down to 4th before that first left at Blanchimont. 3rd for that second and tighter left.
-Around the clubhouse I stay in 4th, braking and coasting until my car straightens back up
-Carefully and easily down to 1st gear for La Source
-Then up to 4th for about a second before shifting back down to 3rd for turn 1
I hope this helps you guys out😉. It takes about a lap and a half before the car will be up to racing speed.

Managed to get in a decent practice tonight and feel much more comfortable with the lower aero. Not down as low as you Tyler but enough to get me down to the mid 40's and with some improvement still to come in several areas. Masta Kink isn't quite flat with the low aero but just requires a slight lift and then quickly back on the power at the mid point to give the maximum speed down the following straight.

Good job to stick with it last night guys. Well done Tyler on a dominant win. I thought with that low aero setup that you were likely to have an off at some point so just concentrated on keeping as error free as possible in the hope I could make up for the lack of pace compared to you by having a clean race and very quick pit stop. Not to be though as you kept it together throughout. Impressive.
Boothy and Tyler were going at it on that first lap so I just kept my distance and waited. I had some fun early on with Karl, he got passed on the run up to Blanchimont on lap 2 and then I had a run on him the following lap approaching Stavelot but decided discretion was the better part of valour and backed out as we got to the corner. Solid team points were needed here so I didn't want to mess that up. We stayed pretty close after that despite my twice sliding along the barrier around Stavelot until his off on the 4th lap exiting Blanchimont. That and Boothy's drive up the hill on lap 2 gave me some space and I started to cruise a bit at that point so Tyler got away even more but my determination to keep it claen was foremost in my mind.
I had a few squeaky bum moments but nothing major and although Boothy was closing rapdly at one point with two sub 3:40 times on laps 5 and 6 brringing the gap down to around 35 seconds his lap 7 incident then enabled me to relax with only my own mistake at that point being able to keep me from that second step on the podium.
With the gap to Tyler at 36 seconds and behind to Greg at over 4 minutes I started to push a little harder and brought my times down to the 3:44's before making my pit stop at the end of lap 14 (just 3.6 saeconds). Tyler's longer pit stop to replace the battery meant that I rejoined around 30 seconds adrift so one mistake from him could still see me claim an unexpected victory but unfortunately I made my first mistake of the race whilst we were chatting about pit stop times.. completely lost where I was on track and took too much speed around that tricky Burneville\Malmedy section and went into the barrier on the outside, across the track to the opposite side with the grass banking and came to a stop just at the little dead end bit. Luckily I avoided any bit impact and had just 15% front right suspension damage so was able to carry on although losing about 35 seconds on that lap. I considered coming into to fix the damage but it didn't feel too bad so just carried on for the final lap without any further mishap.

Probably should of won this one went in a different direction set up wise had lots of downforce instead of none meaning i was slow in a straight line but really quick through the corners. Unfortunately Tyler had zero downforce which meant id keep with him down the straight due to a draft but when it came to corner it meant cos he was braking so much earlier i was having to take avoiding action pretty much every time hence why i ended up the hill.
Other incidents were mainly hitting bollards until i crashed at bottom of the hill hit a bollard broke suspension then hit the metal barrier and flipped over.

There is just too little to do for too long on this circuit and i got distracted. 4 pit stops is way to many. Tyler was dominant and unbeatable.

Thanks for sticking with it guys, we couldn't do this series without you.
As soon as I seen Greg, I slowed down to help but he was ghosted and stuck in the ditch pretty deep so I knew there was no chance to dig him out. I would have had my fastest lap and I didn't want to risk the win as I had no idea how far back Peter was so I just kept going. Terrible luck man...
This next race might be much different. Though it's a longer track, it requires higher downforce and gearing because of how twisty it is. Not to mention the deadly left right hander at the bottom of the big hill after the bridge where I have yet to not spin out at least once in a session.
