Just managed half hour practice here and am out all today and not sure what time i'll be back so this one is probably a miss for me. Also big NFL night with the Chiefs hosting the Ravens at 6pm and 49ers hosting Pittsburgh in their home opener at 9.30 so i'll most likely be watching those when I get back. If I'm not around have fun and watch out for those walls 😉 Chiefs Ravens should be a really good QB battle. Mahomes is quickly on his way to being the best in the league IMO once Brady retires (in 5 or 10 years lol)!

Some other really good young gunners coming through as well though. Minshew at the Jags and Baker at the Browns look really promising. Plus with Garopolou, although not strictly a youngster, looking to have recovered well from his ACL there's some really exciting times ahead in the QB stakes.

Anyone else struggling to keep the car straight out of the corners? Not matter I do it's like driving on ice the majority of the time 😬 Doesn't help the carcass temps are nasty here as well.

Holy fuck, that was intense!
Q:3 Wasn't happy with Qually, was 2 seconds off my PB, but hey ho.
R:3 I honestly don't know how I finished, was in agony for half of it and dehydrated to all hell. But all things considered I'm really happy with that one, didn't expect to have the endgame pace that I did. Now... Regarding Boothy... I just lazily tagged the back of him not expecting him to be that slow off the corner 😂 No dramas though as I wasn't even sure if anyone had a penalty cause I got my 3 seconds for outbreaking myself at the hairpin to the bridge, don't know why, cause I hadn't gotten any prior warning but it told me I got it for track limits but never came up on the screen or the dash, and with everything else that was funky in the race I just assumed it was a load of crap, so I was gonna go for it anyway just for the sake of it and if I got second I got second, but 3rd and fastest lap after my poor form recently is more than enough.
But well done to everyone that finished, cause that was tough.

Q - 2 R - 2
Had a great start built a lead over karl made it bigger when the rain started was roughly a minute then the SC appeared and it all went shit. Pitted for medium tyres to try get far into the stint but Karl was roughly 30 seconds ahead so had to bolt on the softs to try bring it down but went too early which meant roughly 20 laps on the 2nd set of softs and then broke part of my front wing down to the orange but only had 23 seconds on mitch who was flying on softs couldn't pit cos all i had was hard tyres left so tried to carry on and get to the end was losing 4-5 seconds a lap including 6 seconds worth of penalties so assumed it was over when he was right on my arse then he went up the back of it cos i was dogshite slow out of corners could barely steer with wing and 75% tyres and i managed to get enough time over the line aha

What a tough one. It's always tough here in the dry, then add the rain and it's ridiculous.
Q-1 R-1
Did a PB in Quali, really expected boothy to pip me at the end but he came up just shy.
The start was ok. Kept boothy behind me for a few laps then just couldn't hold him anymore. Knew rain was coming but didn't really know when as my engineer kept changing his mind. Went from the soft to Medium then 2 laps later had to bolt on the inters. Managed to kept that second position into the Wet tyre change, but coming out of the pits the back end gave way a bit and i damaged my wing. tried to stay out but was losing too much time, then spun in sector 2 and took off more of my wing. While trying to right the car i think i caused the SC to come out. I was sitting across the track for too long while turning around. Anyway, pitted for a wing change and then tried to catch the SC up...which took forever. When the SC was coming in the engineer said it was time for inters so instead of taking the restart i pitted for the 5th time and strapped on the inters. rejoined in P4 but was up to P1 after everyone else stopped to switch from the wets to the inters a lap or two later. Rain finally stopped and i put the mediums back on thinking i could try and make it the last 29 laps on those but i dinged my wing again around lap 37 and was losing too much lap time to stick it out. Back into the pits for the 7th time and the only fresh tyres i had were softs so i put those on. Had another brain fade and needed another new wing around lap 48. Also had a 5 second penalty to serve for going off track too many times at the entry to T5. when i rejoined for the final push to the flag boothy was within a few seconds of me and gaining. Lucky for me he had an incident a few laps later and damaged his wing. I finished well ahead. One of the toughest races i've had in a long time. The rain was more than tricky. Well done to all the tried and those that made it to the finish. Driver of the day goes to Mike for sticking it out even though he couldn't complete Quali and forgot to load his setup at the start so had to run with the middle default setup. It's a shame Alec couldn't get back in either. I left the lobby open so friends could join instead of invite only but i guess he just couldn't make it back in.

Q. DNS R. 5th I think by default but ended with a DNF lol...
Well after 3 restarts of my Xbox and a restart of the router I finally got in thanks to Karl leaving it open to friends. Started at the back of the grid but forgot to load my damn setup so had mid setup , was difficult to get into a rhythm and lost my nose on the first 3 laps then came the rain, put my front wing up to 9 but with the rear wing still on 6 it was difficult to hold on the corners, struggled on then while trying to go through the menu I clipped the wall and lost right front wheel..
Overall I enjoyed it but would have liked to have completed it. I do like the track due to its complexity. It was great watching you 4 guys race, was very close during the last 10 laps, Mitch was like a train, another 10 laps and it could have all been different ending . Nice racing guys.
Thanks everyone for your patience and waiting for me. Look forward to Russia and hopefully connect without issues..

Brutal race, toughest one for me of my 4 or 5 I have done. Crashing in the outlap during Qualifying was particularly rewarding. lol
I dinged my front wing on lap 2 and it went yellow. Never replaced it and really thought it didn't have much effect. Will have to start paying closer attention to my delta, but regardless, I'm happy to have finished at all, and especially on the lead lap.
Russia, as are most of the rest of the tracks, is new to me. Reminds me a little of Monza in that it doesnt seem technical, but there are some spots that will definitely ruin a day or two.lol

Didn't have any practice prior to the race and had a pretty much miserable time here and I love this place so a sure sign that things are not right for me any longer. I'm just not really concentrating on things and on my second quali run went out on the same set of tyres so had to come straight back in wasting that run. Managed to set a semi decent time to get 4th on the grid on my last run.
Race started ok but got slight damage to my wing at one point but just carried on rather than pit too early. Never really got myself going though and for the first time since I started in this league back in the first season in 2010 I parked it up and retired. Just not having much fun these days and wasn't prepared to spend another 2 hours racing just for the sake of it so gave it up and went back to watch the football.
Well done Karl on the win and for everyone else that raced here.

I dumped my Sky Sports extra subscriptions a short while ago and just went back to the basic package so I've not been watching much F1. In fact I don't even know who won the last race lol. The real and virtual sides of the sport have always had a knock on effect on each other for me, watching makes me want to race and racing makes me want to watch... So my enthusiasm for both has definitely taken a hit these days. A big change in work too has meant I'm knackered when I get home so less inclined to get on and practice, I spend more time in pCars. I've always needed a lot of practice to get anywhere near competetive so missing that has lessened my enjoyment of a Sunday evening. It doesn't help being in a kind of no man's land each race with a sizeable gap to the guys ahead and a similar one to those behind... doesn't make for the most interesting racing 😪

I use an app called Mobdro which streams tons of channels all over the world including the Sky ones. But of course you have to watch them live and that's where it falls down because I prefer to watch things when I want to and not have the tv dominate so many of my weekends. Too much F1 these days... preferred it when races were more unique events rather than something that we have not far off half the weekends of the year. It's that oversaturation that concerns me especially with the addition of more races next year!!
