Gents,
As I’m sure you are all aware it is very difficult to attract new people to our community and I’m sure that finger pointing and name calling won’t help us to create a good 1st impression, everyone is welcome in our races regardless of skill level or which kind of controller people choose to race with so can we all take a moment to reflect on what we’re about to post on this forum, motorsport is highly competitive and can be emotional but this is supposed to be a fun way to race together.
Cheers
Dave

Missed all of this today as been too busy at work to get on at all but just to reiterate what Dave said re keeping it respectful on here. We also have to all try to remember that not everything you see on your screen is exactly the same for the other person(s) so what may seen like a bad move for you can very often be very different to the other guy... not in all cases of course but something to consider.
There is always a very good rule to rely on in these cases... Think about what you are about to post, sleep on it and if you are still of the same opinion as you were the night before send a direct message in the first instance to try to resolve whatever the issue may be.

Well said Peter and Dave. I dropped out after numerous visits to the pits and loosing concentration. Guys I have just one thing to add to Peter and Dave’s words. IT’S ONLY A GAME🙈

I take on board your views Neale but things are not alway's black and white and without knowing people's circumstances it's often unwise to criticise. We all race for various reasons and i've been in this F1 League since it very first started back in 2010 and have never quit out of races in that time. I race for the enjoyment it gives me and for the competition which unfortunately due to my lack of time with the game has been sorely lacking since I came back. My circumstances have changed somewhat in the last couple of months and i'm not able to commit the same time to the racing that I used to do and as a result my enjoyment of it right now is not what it was, hopefully that will change if I can find the time to get on track more. Could I have continued on Sunday.. yes of course, but i'm afraid for me there was no point doing so just for the sake of it. Those three consecutive drive thru's after the SC (for which I still have no clue as to there reason) had already spoiled my race and then an incident when I spun to avoid another car that had spun in front of me further compounded things. Retiring had no effect on anyone as I was a lap down to the car ahead and had a big gap to the car behind, had no racing to look forward to and with a heavy week ahead decided to finish my weekend doing something I could enjoy rather then trawl around for another hour or more.
Boothy has been in the league for almost as long as I have and in that time has always been fair and honest, does he have the odd incident, yes of course, very few of us have not had but none of them are deliberate or malicious. Incidents are part of racing and if someone has a problem with something there are procedures to go through. For what its worth I was behind Boothy and Mike at the time of their incident and from my view of it there didn't appear to be much wrong with what Boothy did. He tried to keep to the outside of turn 1 while Mike was on the inside. There may have been slight contact but I could not be certain and either way it was a racing incident albeit of course unfortunate that Mike came off worse for it. Some of the comments on here afterwards could and should have been avoided but we're all adults and after all the time we've raced together things should be able to be kept in context.
As for people joining the league nobody knows this more than me.. I spend a lot of time on various forums and groups and sending messages on XBL trying to garner interest in what we do here and also put in a lot of work and spend time to try to make sure it runs all runs smoothly across all three series we have been running. This site does not run itself I might remind you. I've fallen behind on updating the results lately due to my lack of free time and increased workload but I'll get back to that as soon as I am able.
It's very frustrating when the numbers aren't where we want them to be for the racing but we continue regardless and the numbers here have been much better over the last few races.
From my point of view there is also frustration when activity here is so sparse and mostly undertaken by the same people. It does at times make me consider whether to continue especially when my time has become so limited. However, i've enjoyed my time racing and putting things together here too much to give it all up just yet so I will continue to provide a platform for others to race and hopefully come together to discuss all things racing, both real and virtual. But give me some leeway on my own racing decisions at present, if I decide to not complete a race understand that there is likely a very good reason for it. We don't all have the amount of free time to devote to it that we would like.
It's only a game after all.

Looking at all you do to organize this, from spreadsheets to keeping everything in order etc, it's a big undertaking and doesn't go unnoticed.
I haven't joined any leagues in the actual game, but knowing Codemasters, they surely have some things there that are great and some that are broken.lol No clue if it is a viable option for future seasons, but being able to spend more time having fun could help.

Cheers. Haven't really explored this option up to now. Generally these in-game options have some restriction that precludes their use for the type of thing we do but it's certainly worth exploring.

Here's the race from my view plus from about 1hr 27min 40 you can see it from various drivers perspective in the spectate view. I didn't sit the whole time watching it so just swapped the driver view whenever I could.
