That's a good point. There's just no perfect way to do it and it's rare someone malicious comes in. More often than not, especially with longer races, you can have some good racing. On another note, Peter opened up the Assetto boards a while back in hopes of getting some casual racing going there. A lot of people have it and love it, but between leagues, it's tough to find time. It's mainly just been Greg, Peter and I that have been in that section. Tried to think of something fun that could be done on people's own time and used the Lotus 72D. Didnt realize it wasn't a 4 speed until I tried it in PCars lol consoleracing.boards.net/thread/610/2020-casual-tt-funI saw that post this morning. When this site was first opened TT was the main focus and we had some great events on a weekly basis doing similar to what you have in that post.

There are a ton of the same cars and tracks between games and it's interesting to compare them and their times.

Peter, if there is a better section for that thread, I can post it elsewhere or feel free to move it. There may be a couple people that would have fun with it, but that section is really dead.

I'll have a look and see. Tbh any thread other than the sign-ups and race reports are pretty dead these days. The group chat takes all the traffic.

On a positive note Greg seems to have the best grip on the car so far and will definitely be a challenge and the one to beat this season 👍 I've always seemed to be able to get into a new car and get a feel for it right away. My Super Power tho is while you all improve your times, I'll never get any faster haha

My Super Power tho is while you all improve your times, I'll never get any faster haha And of course there's always Tylers sandbagging to consider Leg sandbags. I don't think they're on my cars lol. The leg sandbags fall off as a drive and it becomes easier to control the car. I can't or don't like to start out full power for some reason, probably from all the Dragon Ball Z I watched as a kid lol. I like to pace myself as most of what we do is hour or longer races and it does seem to pay off about two thirds of the time for me.

That mentality typically does better than the "Only 3 laps, floor it" Forza method.lol

The fact that your benchmark time for Brno is set at 2:00 would indicate some serious sand has been bagged somewhere . Best we got the other night was 2:04 which I replicated last night in my fist solo test. I also did a test start with the AI to see if they were as dangerous at the start as the other night and from exactly the same position I got tagged again going into turn 1 but this time not quite as hard and my right rear stayed intact. That was with aggression at 75. There was another knock going into turn 4 but I did have some good racing with them before I quit after a few laps.

I must be getting rusty if the benchmark was 2:00 a couple months ago when I set that. I felt like I could have gotten more out of the car on Wednesday too, maybe it's because I was running with a full tank of gas?

I had my first race sim in this car on Friday night and found a bit more time with a best of 2:02.7 Car felt pretty comfortable so hopefully I can push that a bit more to get closer to the benchmark.
The AI were slow at 100/40 but at least they were not dive bombing up the inside like they did with me on Wednesday. First 5 or 6 laps were fun as I fought my way through from 6th place (didn't do quali) and had a good battle with the top 5 cars but as my confidence grew I was much faster and once up into first place the gap grew quickly and by time I crossed the line at the end was over a minute to the good of the second place car.
A good first real session and i'll be testing at another track next to see if the car feels as good there with the current setup.

Is everyone available Wednesday for another test? There's only the 4 of us signed up for the series so having AI on the track with us might be a good thing. I'll set it as a private lobby so we can keep the connection bumps to a minimum.

I should be good for this too... hopefully I won't get punted off at T1 this time lol. Set the AI to around 40 aggression Tyler. That seemed to be a decent level.
Where are we looking to run this time?

Where are we looking to run this time? Whatever everyone wants to do, it doesn't matter to me. Brands Hatch, brno, Le Sarthe? I was thinking we could run a short, medium, and a long track for a few laps or short time each to test out the starts with the AI if no one else has anything they want to try out. We can start with the AI at 100/40 and adjust from there. Zolder also comes to mind so I can show you guys the one change I made so the track is closer to how it was in 1972.

Fine by me Tyler. Maybe Zolder instead of Brno as we did that one last week. I am not very familiar with Zolder and think I have only raced there once.

Yes lets do Zolder. A track I enjoy a lot and we do not use enough.

The AI won't be used at Zolder because of the change but that's ok because it's a fun circuit and like Greg basically said almost never used.
