Q - 10 R - 6
Wasn't that happy with my first run in qualy ending with a 1:11.0 so went out again and was improving until I went too deep into the final corner and got too much onto the kerb, which then spat me off.
The start of the race was ok, was a bit cautious through the first few turns and managed to avoid hitting someone or being hit. Settled in behind Peter and Karl early-on, I think I got past Peter a few laps further in. A few laps later I bumped into the back of Neale's Ferrari and damaged my wing, and was struggling through the turns. Peter got past me shortly after and I kept falling behind so pitted on lap 18, a few laps earlier than planned onto the mediums. Things were a bit quiet from then on until I got too much on the kerb at turn three around lap 38-39 and slid into the barrier, giving myself more damage.
Pitted shortly after that and not a lot happened until I saw Mitch exiting the pits behind me with around 15 or so laps left (I think). It wasn't that long before he caught me and I managed to keep him behind for a couple of laps. He got passed and pulled away and the gap stayed the same for another handful of laps before I slowly got closer and got passed at turn 1. We traded places again, with a good move from Mitch around the outside of turn 1 and then I got ahead again shortly after with not many laps left at all; got a bad exit out out of turn 4 and we were then side-by-side through 6 and 7, 8 and 9 I think before I lost the rear exiting turn 10 (or was it turn 8 Mitch) and went on the grass.
I was gifted 6th after something happened with Mitch on I think the next lap but was happy to finish ahead I started and had a lot of fun fighting late into the race. Congrats to the podium finishers, see you at Abu Dhabi.

Speaking of Code "Masters," this is so bad it's funny.lol It happened in my Weekly the first time I ran it. Got brake checked by the AI that was down a lap and going into the DRS zone. I'm shocked.. someone can the police, someone stole your halo strut 😯 So not running hardcore cockpit then.. I think that's an assist 🤣😂😉 Pass that joint.lol If you say so I'll turn it on. Most don't run it as it wouldnt be painted there in RL like it is on a 2D screen. It's entirely your choice Sean, I'm just winding you up lol... Actually it would be interesting to know from all the cockpit drivers who disables the halo? I just assumed we all raced with it enabled.

Q=4 R=8 Qually was great but I was very stressed managed PB time and just let go. Was no way I could do better. Start of the race was superb I have lost position but managed to fight it back. At lap 8 me and Alec were looking for 3rd so I was blocking the inside of corner three but somehow i lost the rear end clipped the wall, so my race was pretty much over. A lot have happened since then, apology to Mitch was busy with MFD. Last 20 laps was very entertaining specially when I saw sexy black livery in front . Hard to watch Boothy winning but kudos to him. Some good points for the team good job Pete. I have finished the race so next one must be only better, can't upload video yet but I will keep trying. THANK YOU FOR RACING GUYS. Youtube wont accept 5gb I guess, here is link to mixer file: mixer.com/Maxtoto/mobile/profile

Q:5 R:2
Had an OK qualifying session. Set a meh first time. Every time I went out to beat it, I would be up on the lap and then screw up a corner losing all the time. Went out for my last lap as the session expired and improved enough up to P5. Great to see the field to tightly packed.
Got a good start off the line. Marcin got bogged down so I passed him, but then I was stuck behind Neale going into turn 1. Marcin went up my inside but we remained side by side though the esses. I had to edge on him going into turn 4, but he was braver on the brakes up my inside so I conceded the position to him. Long race ahead.
I was behind Marcin for a few laps. Then I had a good run on him going up the main straight. He defended and I went around the outside through the esses. Up to P4. But Marcin stayed close behind me. I was gained on Neale, but the next lap he had on off through the esses. Promoting me up to P3. Now I had no buffer between Marcin and no DRS to help stay ahead. Next lap Marcin pulled the same move on me that I made on him prior in the race. (Check his video out). I had a good run on him down the second straight and went around the outside into turn 4. We were side by side. Marcin spun off on the inside of turn 5. I didn't feel any contact on my end and I hope there wasn't. I know i've spun in that same location on the inside in prior games.
Soon after Boothy caught me rather quickly and he got ahead of me.
Then came the mess of the safety car. Both Boothy and I were right passed the pit entrance as it came out. So we both continued on for another lap. He went on Mediums, myself Softs. As I rejoined the track, Karl was ahead of me. Don't know if that somehow contributed to the drive though penalty. Unfortunate for all who got caught with that glitch.
The second half of my race was a match with Boothy. He was holding me up for awhile on the harder tyres. I got passed him when he had a half spin though the esses. Set about trying to build as big a gap as possible knowing he would be quick at the end. Pitted earlier then him hoping my undercut would help as well. But when he came out on Softs he was mega quick. I held him for about a lap or two but then he got passed me. I tried to stay in DRS range and hope his tyres would wear. But he broke the DRS and that was about all I could do. Happy to settle with second.
Congrats to Boothy on the mega drive from the back. Shame about all the drive through penalties, lots of drivers had good pace here. Anxious to see the constructors difference going into the finale.

It was turn 5 oh. I think I lost it on the curb, maybe because the car was heavy? Such a shame, things were getting spicy. Great racing Alec.

Q - 14th R -1st
Was reading about Hamilton's penalty and crashed on my outlap
Race - Got a decent start gained about 4 places then slowly made my way through the field after about lap 6 when i was 9th i thought yeah can probably win this. I was right behind Marcin & Alec when Marcin spun had to go to the outfield to avoid spearing into the side of him.
Not sure what entirely happened to Will apart from spinning a few times he seemed to have the pace to win if stayed on track. The safety car was a clusterfuck i tried to stay close to Pete but he kept slamming the brakes on so dropped back a bit after swapped onto the mediums
Eventually came down to me & Alec was good fun once realised it was me vs him decided to go Medium then Soft cos longer on the mediums the better as he never seems to like them that much which meant he had to push his softs further & harder then probably necessary as was 6 seconds behind but went down as his tyres went off was about 3 seconds behind after the change over then eventually closed in and got him on the outside of T1 after that was solely about breaking the DRS. Also forgot to save fuel so was doing some hefty saving in the final few laps

Q-6 R-4 Quali was ok, did a lot of laps on the Medium to get my eye in, but then my runs on the softs were shy of my PB. Happy to get within a quarter second of it though. Race start was poor as i had to slow behind Marcin when he had a poor getaway. Lost a couple spots (one to my team mate) but didn't make contact with anyone on the first lap. Had some close racing with Neale from about lap 6 to lap 12. He had a couple offs that let me gain a position on him then i was fighting to keep him behind me by maxing out my ERS on the important bits. We ran like that for 5 or 6 laps, dodging a sideways Marcin as we were coming out of T5 once. Neale got a good run on me into T4 on lap 12ish i think. I thought i left him enough space but we had contact and he spun. I ran wide through 4 and 5 as a result and that let Peter back through again. Soon enough after that we had the SC come out and i dove to the pits for tyres. It was a little earlier than i planned but couldn't pass up the opportunity for a quick stop. Back on the Softs and trying to make some gains i had some close racing with Sean, I think i may have held him up more than helped him because after a dozen or so laps when he finally got by he gapped me quickly. Last stint on Mediums was hard. The tyres offered little grip in the slow corners and i was sliding quite a bit after the newness of the tyres wore off. Had some fun chasing down Pete (pulltheplug) and came home P4 about 5 second adrift of Sean. That settles it for the drivers championship. I wish Neale had had a better drive as he was still in contention for the championship. All that's left to settle now is the constructors, which will be close as there are only 2 points in it. Maybe we should make the last race a double points event? lol Congratulations to Boothy and Alec and Sean. Boothy had an amazing race coming from the back to the front. Here's the race video mixer.com/niblips2Race start is around the 22min mark

I’m not sure if Pete has mentioned this but I have secured some signed merch in the form of 2 signed caps for 1st and 2nd in the Drivers Championship and for the winners of the Constructors Championship. The winner of the Drivers Championship can choose either the Lewis or Valterri caps, so after the race next week pass your details either to me or Pete and I’ll get them out to the winners.
Cheers

Apologies again for any safety car stuff my end. Tbh I have never been in a race with a safety car, let alone at the front of the pack. Throughout the race, I mainly just stayed on the racing line during any overtake attempts by other people as I didn't want to crash into anyone who was vying for the championship on my first, and your penultimate race of the season. Even though I ended the race with the same wing I started with for the first time ever, and raced with a non-aggressive style, I still managed to screw people pahaha.

Do you ever get stuck behind drivers who go 2mph through corners and gun it on straights making it hard to overtake them? The safety car was unleashing similar fury

Great racing buddy YEah, it was definitely some fun clean racing Pete. With the SC all you have to do is stay behind it until the final sector when i pulls away. You can then control the pack. You can slow down or keep the speed higher. You can bolt for the restart at your whim as long as the SC has cleared the track already. If you try to go too early the game will limit your speed until the SC has cleared. It is a tough spot to be in with your first race with this game but sh!t happens.

The SC was a cluster****, but it happens.lol You do the right thing on the racing line. In any road racing, hold your racing line and it is on the overtaking car to pass appropriately. I suppose it depends on your situation. A lot of drivers would defend the inside of the corner when under pressure, especially on those straights. If it were the first race of the season and I was more experienced I probably would have defended way more, or put an effort into taking a position back. As it stands. If I did defend, Halo or not, I would have killed one of you. When you know you're slower lap after lap than people hunting you down, best thing to do is do your own race I guess. That mid-field mentality 😜 Let em pass easily and try and hang on in the slipstream w/DRS to speed up the race against my actual competition, or use it as a chance to harvest ERS. Backs up your original point, but you see it in the Isle of Man TT. Someone super quick catches the rider ten seconds ahead in no time, completes the pass off-line, then the slow dude tags along with him. I didn't have the skill to hang on for more than a few laps but every little helps 🙂

Yeah that makes sense. I was unfortunate as I was coming around the final corner when the SC was called meaning I could go straight in. The odds of me having that lucky timing is slim so doubt it'll happen again. Was cool watching how you manage ERS in your video. Another new thing for me. I don't know how you have that amount of concentration in all honesty dude. I just left mine on 2 until it got a bit low, then put on 0 for a few laps in between the two DRS zones. Even that was a struggle to manage.
