Gents,
Here’s your opportunity to pick which class of GT car we run in our WEC multi class series next year

My vote isn't from any great knowledge of them just that i've run GT3's before (although in pCars1) but never the GTE's so i'd welcome the chance to give them a go. Happy with whatever gets chosen though 👍

Would be a shame to not strongly consider all modern LMP1. LeMans race had the top cars of the period, F1 and Indy series here are the top cars, LMP1 is the top for modern endurance.
As for GT, WEC is GTE. However, GT3 has more cars to choose from so that may make more sense. Aside from GT3, there arent that many cars. Since this is a series of endurance races that will require a pretty decent commitment of time, are you going to put a cap on how many people can take a particular car? As long as there is a number/paint left, it seems reasonable to make it available. (If that's not the way it is done anyway)

As we discussed the take-up for this series will determine whether we can go multiclass and then of course how the split works between the classes. I wouldn't really be wanting to race against just two or three others in the same car so we will need to look at that carefully once we have an idea of the signups.

Good point. GTE has 6 cars, so that wouldn't be bad. LMP2 I think could stretch to 5 competitive cars. They've kind of stale compared to what we have seen racing though

Test a couple laps in some GTE cars when you can. One of the most classes in the game IMO, and faster than GT3 by a lot. GT1 could be interesting, too

But no matter the numbers there also has to be enough in each class to make it viable. Even with 12 if 8 want to run LMP then its not really enough left to run GTE/3. When you've got 6 and 1 or 2 can't make a race it still leaves 4 to race. But if you have 4 or 5 with two no shows it will leave the grid too light for that class.

Correct, what I'm saying is there are more usable cars in GTE compared to LMP2 or LMP1. If it is not multi class, only run GTE. There are really 3 in LMP1 and 2 or 3 in LMP2 and the rest are at a big disadvantage no matter the circuit.
Or do a poll for GTE vs LMP2 if LMP1 isnt in consideration. Added plus, if getting more people is an objective, GTE will be the most attractive IMHO.
There are already votes for GTE, but LMP2 wasn't in it. May be easier and more balanced to go with that, that's all I'm saying. As much as I love GT1, that's not gonna happen. But it's an incredible class for these circuits.
Still should look at another Group C, but on faster tracks than new Le Mans. Old Le Mans, new and old Monza, old Spa etc. On those tracks, the cars will be more balanced as those were the sorts of tracks they were designed to run. That's why the true Le Mans C cars got crushed, they weren't built for the new track.
So that's a big part of my point here. Some people got put at a monster disadvantage at the Le Mans race. But that was one race and WEC is a season. Balance of cars is crucial or the same thing will happen. Which is fine since I know which cars to use for LMP2, but not everyone does.
At any rate, it will be a fun season. Wish Bathurst worked out better for me, but still a good time. Thanks again!

I have very limited knowledge of any of these cars, just not a car person so I'm happy to go with whatever. By we'll have to get that side of things finalised fairly quickly so people can make their choices and get in some practice over the next month. That time soon disappears especially with Christmas and New Year right in the middle of it.

IMO just do a poll for GTE (since GTE seems to be beating GT3) and LMP2 (since LMP2 isnt in the current poll).
Agree, the sooner the better. I do feel pretty strongly there are at least 2 uncompetitive cars in LMP2. But, if only 10 of us are in it, that's not a big deal at all.

I first voted for GTE but I changed my vote to GT3 because I have the Project Cars 2 Mercedes AMG GT3 and Acura GT3 Hotwheels cars that are in the game.
I must say, Hotwheels has gotten lazier since I remember as a kid because they missed a lot of detail on the paint jobs and I ended up painting them to look exactly like they do in the game.

Should we look at just 1 class and go with GTE? I’m sure there’s plenty of liveries for each marque and if we manage to recruit 2 or 3 more drivers then with the 9 or 10 that we traditionally get we may only have 13 cars, so I think going forward that we call this series the GTE WEC and see what happens over the holiday period.

I figured it was going to be on weekends. I'll be able to make the first one, but then rest will be case by case. I'd imagine all the N. America guys will have the same problem.
GTE or LMP2. If another poll is too much, just pick one
