Q 3 (pole because of penalties ahead of me) R DNF
Congrats Neale, Stu, and newcomer Chris/CPRacing. Strong podiums.
Hate being the lead car in a formation lap and got a jump start that I wanted to contest, but apparently I blew it and knew better.
So, had to pit the 2nd lap and fought back to 3rd. Had some extended battles with Greg, Micko, and Tyler that were a lot of fun.
Fought back to 3rd and with 6 laps left, my wheel went out going into the esses and smacked a wall at 150mph. Weird since I don't have the FFB high at all and that hasn't ever happened. Limped back to the pit and got fixed up as the entire field passed and lapped me. Got back out and on the next straight, blew my engine. It was at 6, I could have sworn. The wreck had to have done something that didn't get fixed.
Oh well, it happens. Feel bad for letting my teammate down. Time for a drink.

Q P9 R P8
Great event as always. I had fun, I didn't do as good as I would have hoped, but then again I wasn't expecting to do that good as my practice times couldn't match that of the leaders.
Superb driving to my teammate Greg, you were definitely quicker than me and we finished back to back. I might have held you up though for a couple laps though before you got past me.
I had the same problem Sean with my Fanatec Porsche wheel for xbox 360 shutting off randomly sometimes. It sucks and I can feel for you man. Better luck at Spa

All I can figure was overheating. Hsd that same GT2 wheel, too, but don't recall that ever happening. May just dial down the FFB.

Q 11 R 7
Ran an almost clean race and pretty happy with 7th. Had some great battles along the way and it was pretty cool to start near the back and see a huge field in front of me. Beginning of the race was running in a pack of mick, Dave, Tyler and myself. It was great. Eventually the fords pulled away and I spent about 5 laps trying to pass Tyler. We were so even every where except turn 3, but you were so good at defending there. Finally got past and ran a lonely remainder of my first stint.
I pit exactly half way and took fuel and softs. When I came out I was right behind pop belly and I ran the entire 2nd half anywhere from 3 to 1.5 seconds behind him. I was really pushing but just couldn't close right up on him. Tyler ran a really long first stint and came out about 3 seconds behind. Again we were so even he couldn't close the small gap. Tyler our best laps were within 4 hundredths.
Looking forward to the season.

Qualified 7th Race - DNF rat shit Boyz
So last night was one of the worse evenings I’ve had in a while.
I’ve had the worse 12 mnths of my life for myself and my family and throu myself into this championship to try and find some escapism and was hoping for a few hrs at a time get some happiness. Prior to last night I’ve been testing like you wouldn’t believe and felt so confident and prepared for once I was super excited about the race.
Quali-
should of known it was all gonna go wrong as it started badly despite doing probably 20 race and quali simulations Prior to last night that all Went well. I couldn’t get my tyres warm at all when practicing I was doing 1.57’s and 1.58’s all day everyday in the exact time and date and conditions. It felt lady night like my car wasn’t loading right and after 3 times out and reloading best I could do was a 2.02 I was annoyed but thought I’d focus on the race.
The race-
I’d decided prior to the start I was gonna hold back in turn 1 and 2 and concentrate on no damage and then race from there so after turn one I was 8th then 9th and managed to get back to 7th by end of lap one, my car felt loads better as you start with warm tyres but still no where near the pace I had when practicing, however through clean driving I was doing consistant 2 min laps and found myself in 3rd and things were going well I’d decided I was gonna pit at the ideal time on lap 22 but then cpr caught me up just before then. I tried to ask for a pit stop a few laps early but when selecting it would flash up and then disappear so I wasn’t confident there would be a drew there so I kept going even though my wheel was shaking badly due to tyres, I’d had to let CPR past as was being distracted trying to select pit stop and worried I’d crash him out. At lap 21 my pitvcrew called me in and I was relieved I’d sat prior to the race and done all my pit strategy’s and had tested them in free practice with no issue. Race night thou my crew for an unknown reason didn’t change my tyres (ffs) I was annoyed but thought that maybe there’s pit stop errors on so went back out and intended to come straight back in however again I couldn’t select make a pit stop on my wheel itv was flashing but not confirming I had no choice And came in anyway, driving in now there were pit crews everywhere. I drove into what it thought was my crew and bang nope not mine and a 50s time penalty as I left outta that crew I then found my crew and guess what nope no tyres for me again
At this point having tried my coolest to stay strong my mind lost it not helped by some thinking my situation was amusing and laughing. I then threw my pad against the wall smashing it into bits and turned the lot off. I’ll be honest I was close to tears as felt like everything I’m trying is falling apart lately and I went up to bed with my blood pressure going crazy which is especially bad for my medically Worse of all my Mrs giving it the it’s only a game doesn’t help and I spent most of last night just angry and had to get up 4 hrs later for work today.
After whatever happened last night I’ve decided for my health and mental state to give up totally on the online racing and I’m gonna part way with my hardware. Please don’t offer me sympathy as I don’t want it just wanted to give you all the full picture I wish you all well and enjoy your endeavours. It’s a shame my journey has ended but life has only a few givens and ones that all good things eventually end.

Q8 R10
Qualifying has never been a strong point for me but I was fairly happy with the laptime for 8th even though I’d gone quicker in practice. Got a great start and made up a few places, had good pace and found myself in P3 after a great battle with Nathan, early on lap 2 at Village both Nathan and I were taken out by one of the Ferraris and I came back on track in 10th, I closed the gap down to the group in front and set about battling with Greg, we fought for 1 or 2 laps and I got past in the Abbey Chicane, I then set after Tyler and went through at Brooklands, by this time Micko was 10 seconds down the road and I pushed hard to try and catch him, I chipped away at the gap and closed the gap to 3 seconds but with a lapse of concentration I went off at Copse sustaining some damage, as I was close to my pit window I boxed after a lengthy stop for repairs I came out a lap down and in P10, couldn’t close the gap back to the field and came home in that position.
Last nights race was one of the best races I’ve taken part in, great to see a full grid and some new faces, great win for Neale and well done to everyone who finished, looking forward to Spa.
Cheers.

A pretty uneventful but rewarding night for me....
I didn’t feel comfortable pushing my pace for qualifying as I’d spent many hours prior to the race night practicing an easy but competitive pace. I wanted complete consistency to attempt to overwrite my previous awful results with the XRF team at Bathurst and LeMans. So I ignored competition and just raced my own race.
This easy rewarding set up/pace put me 5th on the grid so I had an accurate idea that by doing much the same for 42 laps will give me an alike race result. Not understanding I am able to speed before the green light on rolling start, I held back letting two drivers past on green. So not a great start that made things difficult for my plan, finding myself in 7th for the race start.
There were two incidents where contact was made through racing incidents and picked up minor aero damage early on. I decided to keep my pit strategy the same as I’d planned and not waste time repairing damage I didn’t feel effected me. Turns out it put 1.5secs a lap on my time even after my stop but I kept strong. Found myself defending my position from DaleRossi for a few laps prior to my stop and on tardy tyres. I positioned my car well in a defensive manner turn after turn assuming he was on my bumper. He then tells me I’m missing a few lines and clarified to me that I was defending when I didn’t have to🤦🏼♂️. That’s when my concentration shifted and I spun in turn 3 putting the 'T’ in t-bone for DaleRossi.
We lost WonkaManDan, I’m now back in 5th
Not sure who was behind me for the final stint but the gap closed and widened like a stretching rubber band and stayed that way until the end.
I’m very lucky to achieve an extra two positions as a result of others misfortunes but that’s something I can’t control.
Overall a fantastic evening and super well done to the podium winners and of course Neale for the gold.

Q2 (starting 4th due to speeding in the pits 😬) R2
Quali went well, but I wasn't able to get the laptimes I was getting in practice for some reason. Either way, I wouldn't have beaten XRF Jameson to pole and my speeding in the pits didn't help!
Race started well and managed to get into P2 by the end of lap one due to Sean having to pit. I sat with Jameson for a while and we pulled a gap over 3rd place. I then shortened this gap by spinning after chasing laptimes. Jameson was away at this point, but I was still clear of 3rd. This went on for the rest of the race with a couple of spins exchanged with CPRacing and very nearly a massive T-Bone when he spun in front of me! Good racing by all. No complaints from me other than Jameson needing some ballast 😉

We were running alone and I was only saying to save your tires and let me pull us a few laps and we can make up some time on the field. It was nothing more than that and hated seeing you spin there. Somewhat ironically, in that same spot the lap before I almost reminded you to check your TCS since we both do the same things with that and I'd forgot to adjust mine. Still, you had a very good drive.

Q14 (13 at start because of penalty in front of me) R3
Qualy : I really struggled to get any heat in my tyres... they never went close to light green !!!! I was 11 sec off pole...
Before the race, checking my set-up for fuel, I discovered that tyres were on "automatic by weather"... weird as I ran few laps in the afternoon to prep and my set-up was with soft tyres... anyway that explain the struggle in qualy.. I was on hard tyres !
Race : I had a good start (not easy to take a rolling start after a formation lap as it could be messy but everybody did very well) Very quick I moved up the field (much better with the right tyres!). I had some nice fight with other racers, clean and fair racing. Did some good overtakes. Some racers seeing me coming fast just let me through (very nice spirit!!!) Up to the pit stop (lap 24), my pace was very good, I was around 30 sec of the lead in P3. Came back on track after pit in P4 and very quick came back to P2, setting my best lap at 1.56.6 -fastest of the race. Then around 10 laps to the end, I had 2 spins in a row in Luffield corner... same place and same way... I thing I started to get tired and started to do mistake in my driving... ended up P4 as that was close racing, the gaps were small! Managed to get P3 back, but my car had some damaged, and could not try to catch up with P2. Finished the last laps beeing careful, just waiting for the chequerd flag.
Overall, I really enjoyed racing with the group, the level, the spirit and fairplay were very good! Thanks to DaleRossi for inviting me to join!
Can't wait for Spa !!!!!!

Glad you could make it and it was a strong outing. Congrats on your podium. This is a great group to race with and with longer races, people tend to let the faster cars through at times to fight another day. I wasn't so fortunate and had to fight for every spot to get back to 3rd. lol Had some damage, but was staying with my delta with 6 laps to go and poof, wheel went off. Ensure if I'd rather have that happen there or 6 laps in. Same result either way.lol At least I got to have some great racing. There are several seasoned drivers here and it will be a great season. We thought about making it multiclass and that would have been cool, but 16 cars all of the same series is a lot of fun, too.

Welcome about and glad you enjoyed your first XRF experience. Hopefully i'll be there to join you for the next round in Spa and going forward.

Q 1st pit lane penalty put me 1 spot back to start 2nd R 1st Noted what Sean and Tom have said. You are at a disadvantage being on poll as you have to keep below 75 But not drivers behind, should we not put up in rules that gap has to be kept and maintained to a point behind cars at start of race. As pol man can not go above 75 until start line . After a fair start got away and it was some of the best driving I have done kept an eye on Stu but all ok there. Pitted lap 22 I think tyres and fuel, Of I went with no issues Some great driving from back markers never had a issue with any one. A fantastic evening but I would say that 😜 Well done to all. And hope this continues with n.o of drivers staying high Never did I ever expect to win.

I am a bit confused by this but perhaps I am just not understanding... if the pole man is only able to drive at 75 surely the following cars have to stick to the same speed otherwise they'll overtake him and end up penalised for that anyway?

Ha No problem, Tommy! The race reports are kind of cool to have. Been trying to find similar things from WWII dogfighting squad battles from 20 years ago.lol
Neale, agree. Being on pole Sucks. If you're not on pole, you can also jump the start as long as you don't pass the leader. On pole, if you even breathe on 75mph, you get a warning. Wish I had a clip of my false start because I felt like I absolutely nailed it perfectly.
Still, I knew how it worked and it's my fault. In perspective, we run the same car and it says I false started, but I never let out of the throttle and still got overtaken and fell into 2nd.
The cleanest starts would be the manual Formation lap and then let the AI take over the way it does in F1. But, that also risks 5 second penalties if a car should hit another car. That happened to Shelton and I the other night before we took control.
Still, I had one of my best drives and was pumped to get back to 3rd. The wheel going out hasn't ever happened and it sucks. But, it's a long season.
Neale has been utterly dominant the past 2 races. Excellent driving. It's even tougher with a full grid to get through cleanly.
Worth noting that everyone got through the S1 of lap 1 cleanly. I didn't expect that with a full grid, so that was really cool to see.

No. Formation lap, space builds a bit. It isn't malicious, but it does just to avoid damage. 75mph is such a long lap that it happens. The pole is much tougher to hold it. And the race start is very easy for all but pole. So, as long as you keep your position, you can get into the throttle early and get a running start. Set up an offline with AI and put yourself in 2nd and you'll get a better idea. However, the AI sticks together closer than a human opponent does. If I am on pole vs AI, I can't get as good of a run at the start as I can if I am in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. It's a little wonky. Putting it on Auti start would fix all of it, other than the excruciating formation lap for the pole sitter. Neale and I practiced the formation lap a bit and noticed some of this stuff.
