Good consistency there Joeri.. only had one brief test so far but I never use the hard compound. What sort of times are you looking at on the soft Tyre? Thanks, was really aiming for consistent times for the full stint. I ran the softs only for about 4-5 laps and a full tank. Think it’s possible to drive high 2:05 - mid 2:06 on them and later when it’s dark drop those times by half a second. Those look like really good times to me. I'm still off that having only managed a best of 2:09 but only got in about 15 laps so far. I'm struggling to get my turn-ins right at the moment and that's costing me a lot and making my times too inconsistent. It's something i've struggled with since playing around with my FoV but it's been a bigger problem here than anywhere else because of the type of turns here that we haven't seen much of in the first five races of the season.

The in game race start time has been adjusted and weather added to.. should have been 13:00 not 15:00 and there is some cloud cover in the middle of the race. Cheers for the heads-up Sean.

Had an hours practice last with Liam and Christophe, with some engineering support from Chris I’ve managed a mid 2:05 on the soft tyres, haven’t attempted any long race run stints at this point but I’m confident of running high 2:06’s in race pace. Christophe is super fast in his Ferrari and Liam was running some competitive times as well so it’s going to be a great race.

If the options are only light cloud and heavy cloud I think it's probably just light clouds for the middle period of the race. Looks like 2/thirds of the race is sunny so three slots clear, light cloud, clear maybe or 4 slots with clear, light cloud, light cloud, clear. No biggie though, happy to go with whatever. EDIT: Just checked and options allow medium cloud which I think would fit with the partly sunny part of the race weather. The 4th slot matters most since it will be getting dark. Medium cloud and clear in that part are quite a bit different. Whoever is hosting, please just post the official weather slots.

No way to run a single tank. MAYBE on Lean all the way with lift and coast, but will end up several laps down.
100/100 AI qualifies in the 2:05 range iirc

Actually I've just checked that site again and it should be light cloud then clear the rest of the way so that's what we'll go with.

No testing yet hope to get on tomorrow. Old farts like me will have plenty of time if the UK government hibernate us over 70’s for 4 months.

Had another great test tonight, found a big chunk of laptime and sorted many of the issues that I’d found at this circuit, running 2:06’s in race pace on the harder tyre compound after finding with the soft tyres that the LHF rear was overheating after 1 or 2 laps, found the harder compound is faster and more predictable over a long stint. Should be an incredible and exciting race with a number of different strategies going forward. Won’t be on in the evenings this week as I’m on late shift so might be about in the mornings.
Cheers
Dave

I wouldn't let them. If they try and do that here and all of a sudden I vanish from here, it's probably because I went out and fought to the death. EDIT: I highly doubt there is anything to worry about, also i'm 99% sure i've already had and beat the Coronavirus which I was just getting over with at the start of this WEC season, A lot of the symptoms I had were the same as the virus. So much mucous, my head felt like it wanted to explode, and I went through like 100 Kleenex boxes. It was rough but lots of sleep and juice did the trick.

I was in the 2:07 - 2:09 range in my practice session earlier today. Still more time to be found here, I might try fuel saving and run hards. That's a bit closer to the times I managed in my only practice so far but my best was only 2:09 so I've still got a long way to go to get down to the pace that's being indicated so far. I'll hopefully get a couple more practices in before Saturday although if we get shutdown here in the UK I might get more time than I anticipate. Interesting about the fuel saving... Looking at the numbers from my short test I'm not sure it could work for me. Race is going to be about 42+ laps based on those times being reported and I'm getting about 33-35 laps out of a full tank so that's a lot of saving would be needed. What's your fuel rate so far? Be good to see more pre-race progress reports from everyone as that's been a bit lacking so far this series and always adds an extra dimension and bit of fun to the build-up 👍 Good to see two of the new guys (Joeri and ian) steering it for this race. Fingers crossed it prompts others to do likewise. We'll done guys 👌 Dang, I once again forget to check my fuel usage! I do know the softs love to shread away at this circuit, it was the same in IndyCar last year. Those kerbs seem to hurt more than they help but I think that's part of the way the track was designed to discourage corner cutting. I raised the ride height a little and softened the back which helps me a little with the kerbs. If what you guys are saying is true maybe I should try 2 stops for fresh rubber instead of Tortoise-ing along on hards the entire time lol

The in game race start time has been adjusted and weather added to.. should have been 13:00 not 15:00 and there is some cloud cover in the middle of the race. Cheers for the heads-up Sean. Time for new practice then, because that will mean longer time on a hotter track Those hards are luckely unbreakable in the heat, they are just so damn slippery.
