Currently on 17 for this race and Karl is yet to sign up so maybe 18. Hopefully the a couple more lurking in the background yet to sign up for this one and we can get up to the 20 mark to then give good food for thought on a possible 10 race split grid. Myself and Dave will be talking over this the next few days.

I just had my first test run here tonight and for not knowing the track, I did surprisingly better than I thought I was capable of.
I couldn't match the fastest AI times in practice, but I had a much quicker pace than them on track. My best was a 1:47.67 and averaging around 1:48 -1:49 per lap in light rain. The AIs fastest time was about a 1:42 at 100/100, but they were all averaging 1:50 - 1:51 per lap as time went on.
This is going to be a little hectic because the racing line is in the middle of the track in a couple different corners. I'm reminding myself mostly for this, but we have to really communicate on track with eachother here.
Okay, back to HAL○ for me 🥳

I just had one go here at Fuji on Sunday and best I managed in a short 8 lap race start practice was a 1:50.379 but other laps were a couple of laps slower so I'm well of pace so far. Never driven this track before but think it's quite a fun one with some nice challenges but agree with you that it's a very tight one too so patience will be required by everyone especially in the early laps when we are all close together.

If anyone wants to run a practice with me, id be more than happy to run some practice and give help to those who are struggling or maybe just need some tips for their tune. Currently got the GT on the best lap of a 43 but lost a second.

Currently got the GT on the best lap of a 43 but lost a second. I've just decided.. you're banned 43!!!! That equates to me being lapped around 22 minutes in and close to 6 times in the race based on my only run out so far!!

My best was low 1:46's so I'd like to know where the shortcut you're using is! same for you, Joeri; if you're on send me a message or an add it'd be awesome to get a group together and run some laps.

Sorry, didn't see you message in time. Overall I had a really crappy evening. Tested some wet weather conditions at the start, but couldn't get any heat in the tires (max 40 degrees celcius). Anybody else noticed the same? Laptimes where about 1:47 in the beginning, when rain was minimal. Heavier rain the laptimes dropped to 1:49 - 1:50. As I was sliding everywhere and some friends came online, we opted to learn the track with dry conditions. Times where about 1:37 - 1:38 mark, but cannot find my breaking points on turns 15 & 16 (last 2 corners). There is no mark to be seen and you cannot see the apex due to the flow of the circuit. After 45 minutes, I really got problems breaking. Increased my brake pressure on the load cell last week and possibly my muscles are not yet trained enough. Got some pain in my knee because of it and called it a day. Will drop the brake pressure back, because don't want this to happen during the race Sorry LSR Oxy, really wanted to do some testing with you, because we could find a better setup together.

Karl Fuss / XRFniblips/Aston Martin #22
I have had little time to get some running in for this. First real session last night. Poor TT time of 1:41ish. Light rain time in the 49s and 50s. Will surly be at the back for this one but it nice to learn a new circuit every once in a while.

It's no problem, I didn't end up staying on long anyways. After a bit of practice in the indycars with a few of the other guys from the forum, me and Oxy went and did a bit of practice at Fuji along with another one of the LSR guys. He helped me out with a setup that really helped me get my car turning a bit more, and I managed a high 1:43 in qualifying trim. Race pace seemed like it was gonna be between 4 and 6 ish seconds slower than that for me. I tried to replicate that run this morning but I was only able to manage 1:45s on low fuel, race pace was similar though. I couldn't get my tires over about 40°C even with the brake ducts closed almost all the way. Should make for a tough finale that's for sure! Oh, and just a sidenote; as a guy who came into sim racing mainly through forza motorsport and seeing the dominance their group has had in leaderboards and races with them here and there, I can't overstate how cool it is to get to race with and bounce ideas off of eachother. Hell of a group of guys we got here, that's for sure!

I have not had a full race, only managed the first 15 laps and was in the 1:49's consistently with a best of 1:48.734. A couple of corners I find really tricky to get right are Dunlop (T10) and Netz (T15). It's a fun circuit and looks like it could be a lot of fun in the dry and in these wet conditions it's a real challenge.

Once the temps drop on this track, there's not a whole lot you can do. Especially on the right side of the car. I'm running different camber on the right, but it's not having as much of an effect as I'd like.

Dave and myself have been discussing the best way forward for tonight and as we currently have 18 drivers signed up with the possibility of a couple more to come we will be looking to split the grid into two races with 10 drivers in each. This could change depending on who actually turns up but we will have to make that decision when we get on.
The points will as usual be allocated 25 for first place through to 1 for tenth place for grid 1 with grid 2 being given half points for each position, so P1 12.5 P2 9, etc. Clearly this isn't ideal but it's a difficult one to deal with and this seemed the most suitable option. The main person this disadvantages is likely to be Dave who has raced all but one race this season but as things stand would be in grid 2. He is fine with this though.
Cheers

Cheers So the Splits will be decided by championship positions,we both feel this is the best compromise as I’m sure the internet loads will be high tonight and we have enough to populate 2 lobbies, I’ll host Split 2 and maybe Tyler (Sgt F1) can host Split 1? Cheers Dave]

It looks good, but wouldn't you want everyone in the top 12 points or so to be in the same race? Having teams broken up will hurt teams chances IMO.
