Q: P5 R: P2
Just as predicted, that was an EPIC event!! I'm really happy earning my first podium in this series especially doing so in the wet. That wasn't easy holding it together as there were so many puddles that could immediately fling you into a wall, which happened to me twice.
Micko and I had a fantastic battle for 2nd position, only making it past eachother when the other would make a mistake. I thought I had made the bigger mistake when I had to box for slicks early because I needed wing repairs after a spin, but it turns out poor micko pressed the wrong button when entering the pits. It happens to all of us, but he was then disqualified giving 2nd to me. I strongly believe that you would have won if not for that micko, that's the worst luck buddy!
All I had to do from there was not make anymore mistakes, and somehow catch up to Sean who was lapping much slower because he was running the hard compound. With some great motivational support from Karl, Dave and micko, I pushed hard during the last 5 minutes or so and somehow managed to catch up to Sean through the last couple of corners to finish the race right behind him. Great win Sean, you were the fastest car all night, and congratulations to Karl on the One X, podium, and well done to Ian and Liam. You guys fit in great and I hope to see you back when there are open slots. Also, how's the new rig handling Joeri?

This was the toughest race to tune and actually run because of the leather and the nature of the track. Hate it for the guys that had a really rough time. It happens, but it sucks. We have all had stupid misfortunes, but they are particularly tough when you know you have the car and the pace on that day. My wheel cutting out at Silverstone was infuriating and you just pray something like that doesn't cost you the season.

Q2 R1
The first 2/3 of the race went really well and towards the end of the rain, I had lapped all but 2 or 3 cars. Car was perfect and I was gaining time every lap. All was well and had around an 80 second lead when I I changed to dry tires for the last 25 minutes of the race or so. Softs were running too hot for me in practice, so I went with Hards for all my dry tires. That was a stupid decision and I'm lucky I had built up so much time in the rain. I'm not sure how much of an impact the race going later into the dark than planned had, but I couldn't get heat in them at all for the final stint. Two 360 spins and another one that hit the guard rail on the fast right sweeper had me lose a shytload of time with P2 Tyler catching me. While time melted away, there was nothing I could do but baby it and try to build heat where I could. In retrospect, had I noticed immediately I could have pitted again for softs. But by the time I knew what was going on, there wasn't enough time. Held on to win with Tyler just about on my bumper. Sucks for Neale and Micko, both are as automatic as it gets to a podium or win. Congrats Tyler and Karl for your podiums! That was a tough race for sure. The newcomers did extremely well and that was really cool to see, with one taking pole in the M6. We had less than a second between the top 7 or 8 qualifiers. Pretty cool.

If only there was one more lap, if I would have known I was catching you so fast, I would have started pushing more aggressively sooner. Though I bet you would have made it very challenging for me to pass. You'd probably either kick all of our asses in the vintage series or at least be able to give us some great racing without much effort, it would be great to see you there No peer pressure lol.

Q8 R9 Qualifying went fairly well but I felt I could have been a bit further up although I couldn’t find that extra few tenths.
Less said about my race the better, had a decent get away but I made contact with Neale which ruined his and my race before the 1st corner, I limped back to the pits and selecting my ‘Crash’ pit stop setup fixed the damage and fitted new slick tyres, came out behind Sean and a lap down but had some great pace a stayed in Sean’s rear view mirror for 5 or 6 laps, at that point I was thinking that I might be able to secure a decent result as I was feeling confident about my pace in the rain, as the conditions worsened and the rain started to fall I pitted early to get the jump on those in front but I hadn’t changed my pit strategy back and fitted slick tyres with no fuel, managed to return to the pits and put on the wet tyres and exited the pits, found some good pace and made up 1 or 2 places as people pitted for damage etc, I reeled in Liam and after some exciting laps with him I unlapped myself then span out in the next corner, I finished 4 laps down in P9 after Micko was DQ.
Apologies to Neale for messing up his race, big congratulations to Sean for a commanding win, great podium finish for Tyler and Karl.
Thank you to you all for finishing this challenging race and further thanks to you all for all your support and friendship, our league continues to grow and that’s thanks to you all and your professionalism and skills, lastly well done to Ian and Liam, you’re a very welcome addition to our league and we all hope that you can race with us on a regular basis.
On to COTA for the Lone Star Le Mans
Cheers

how's the new rig handling Joeri? It's a really big upgrade for me, no lower backpain anymore for overstretching to reach the pedals. Normally I would get really sweaty on a race longer than 30 minutes, no nothing at all. If I ever have to recommend a rig to someone, really start using 8020 aluminium profile it's rock solid and very easy to change settings/distances. My race was really great at the start. Qualified P6 (P7, but Jameson had a penalty), and after 3 laps I found myself in P2. Ian was in front of me a lap down and I noticed some lag between us, so didn't want to take any risk with a pass. Coming into the main straight he was on the left and I could pass him on the inside of the corner, at least I thought. He came back in front of me due to lag and I spun, dropped me back to P6 with some minor aero damage. Lesson learned for next time to communicate better from my side if someone is a lap down and there is lag between us. I dropped behind Peter, was faster but couldn't find a gap somewhere to pass him. After the rain came, I directly went into the pits, gained a place and got some good pace in the rain with Liam behind me. Some laps in the rain the puddles where becoming bigger and completely misjudged the puddle on the inside of back straight. Don't know how, but I felt like Max Verstappen and saved the car from the barrier and wanted to get speed up again. Unlucky for me and Liam, but he took out my rear wing because of the speed difference I guess. (don't know if you had any damage Liam?). After that point I just cruised back into the pits, let everybody pass by safe as possible and rejoined the race in P7. Kept it safe as possible for the remainder of the race. Thank you all again for a great evening! The weather really gave us all big problems with setting the pit strategy correctly and keeping our cars from the barriers Will join again on COTA! Not my favourite track, but that's only from F1 and Forza games experience.

Ok not sure were to start here.
So as some are aware I have been in and out of hospital for internal examination and am still in a lot of discomfort and struggling to concentrate on racing. Last nights race at Watkins Glen I was taken out at the start of race on the first corner and I went over board with swearing and calling someone a C nt and more which isn’t me so I apologise deeply for this but I’m not myself sorry.
I’m not sure what to do at the moment. To continue racing or to take a back seat until I have results or a conclusion to my health issue. I have been race with a lot of you guys for a few years now and have enjoyed every min of it but with health and my Xbox being a old one and not keeping with online gaming as myself and Karl are experiencing.I don’t want to upgrade with talks of a new one out soon. I have even looked into PC as a option also. But yet again I am not in a good space so not acting on anything at the moment.
Sean Your the man at the moment and I feel I am letting you down but I am struggling mate to be in the zone.
just something to talk about My first gaming console/ computer was a Commodore 64 I did have a ping pong thing that went into a black and white tv at the time,a moving dot you had to hit backwards and forwards until u missed it I think they called it tennis game but I don’t count that one lol. can u remember yours? I have always had something up to this date so will always be into gaming. Congrats and Well done to all that finished and the podium boys Neale

That last 20 laps just snowballed for me. I was just cruising in the rain and took that same attitude in the dry after that. After several laps, I was driving so slow, night had hit, and my tires were just not willing to heat up. There are only a few turns to really generate heat there and the car was like it was on ice. The right side tires didnt get over 50 until the last 3 or 4 laps. Live and learn! One more lap would have been interesting for sure!

I never had the Commodore, but had Odyssey 2 and then Intelevision.lol The stress right now would absolutely take its toll, it's understandable Neale. Whatever you need to do. You are still firmly in 2nd and Silverston for me was like Watkins Glen for you...an absolute cluster **** of a DNF. Not sure how much He listens, but I'm keeping you in my prayers. Nonstop docs etc is miserable. Hoping your docs get you the care and information you deserve. If or when things turn soon, I expect you will have a solid podium or win at COTA. PC is where I was for years and spent a long time in competitive flight sims. iRacing is appealing and I am going to wait to see what is up with the new console.

There's always a place here for you to race so I'll auto sign you up for each remaining race and then you can decide whether you are up for it and let us know. With only Fuji due to have wet weather fingers crossed none of the others will give you the same problems as last night. Good luck and best wishes mate. I had an Atari as a kid with the tennis game being it's main game lol. The Nintendo Wii was was my first gaming console mainly for family stuff like bowling And tennis, etc. But it was also the first console to have Codemasters F1 on it (2009) and that prompted me to look at an Xbox and my missus bought me that with the new F1 2010 game as a first console based driving game. Wii also had a really good Ferrari racing game that I can't remember the name of. Prior to this I was in the world of PC racing with my first SIM being Indianapolis 500.. brilliant!! That got me into virtual racing big time and I spent the next 10-15 year's racing all the Papyrus Sims, NASCAR (4 releases), Indycar (3 releasess) and the never to be beaten Grand Prix Legends. F1 was covered by the unparalleled Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix Racing series.... 4 releases over about 10 year's. Initially I was racing using a joystick until I got my first wheel.. I think it was one the very first Thrustmasters which had a shift stick and I took apart to add paddles for F1 racing. I also had a spell with flight sims mainly Microsoft's Flight Simulator until I took a break as other things took over my free time until the aforementioned Wii sparked my interest again.

Ha I enjoy the 72, it's a blast. The CanAm Porsche beast is in my opinion tougher than anything in this game to race, but there are a ton of great (and very fast) cars. As long as it is fast, I like it. I'll run VF1 with you guys some time. WEC is taking all my racing time, though.

Q:1st R:8th
I'd like to start by expressing my thanks to all of you again for giving me a shot and letting me take part. Even though I didn't finish as well as I had hoped I would, it was still absolutely awesome to get to race with a group of fast drivers who enjoy running longer races! You're all super fast and I'm really looking forward to the next race and to trying out some of the other series you do as well!
As for qually and the race itself, the Glen is what I consider my "home track" (I live about 3 hours west of the track) and between different games I've logged a lot of laps there, so I felt fairly confident but struggled through the first 25 minutes of qualifying to get a solid lap in. On that last lap, the split was maybe a tenth up on my fast lap but it was looking like another not great lap. But, when I got down into the boot I had a great run into the toe and hooked the curb super hard in the toe and by the time I came out I was over a second up on my time. I took it back as easy as I could to avoid going off in turn 10 like I had and couldn't believe I'd managed the pole, I'm still not sure how even today! That was a huge confidence boost going into the race though.
Before the race, I decided to run the hard tires instead of the softs like i had been because the track temps were a bit higher than I anticipated and I didn't want to burn the tires off before the rain. That was my fatal mistake... I lost the heat during formation laps and just couldn't get it back. I ended up losing it in 10 (that corner is my kryptonite sometimes I swear) and had to pit, and then accidentally turned driver swap on while swapping my strategy around and the AI took my car over for a lap. Once that was fixed I was I think a lap or two down and it went back to my original goal for the race: stay clean, have fun and get some experience in the car. I did manage to regain a few positions, making it up to 7th at one point and battling for it with Will. We had a good back and forth for almost half an hour I think but then I caught a puddle when it was drying up and had to pit again. Overall though I was really happy to get to run with you guys and I'm looking forward to running the next one! Congrats to all of you guys for running a really difficult race and making it fun as we went along!

You were in the black GT, yes? I felt so bad about that. I tried to call it out but I should've been a bit more direct to the people around me. Everything seemed smooth when I was driving connection-wise but it seemed stutter-y when the AI drove. And it was nutty, dude was all over the damned place and making a lot of really sudden and jerky moves. It cut a few people off but I think you got the worst of it and I'm really sorry for that

the Glen is what I consider my "home track" (I live about 3 hours west of the track) That's pretty cool, I live about 2-3 hours away from Road America in Wisconsin so I consider that one my home race when we go there for IndyCar, but i've never been to the track in real life. The Glen is one of my favorite tracks too, it has history and personality, COTA will be fun, but i'm not a huge fan of that track.

Hang in there and never stop fighting. My first game ever was that Indy 500 Simulation on DOS that Peter plays. I was still in diapers at the time, played it on the new family computer and had no idea what I was doing. The cars sounded like "mii mii mii mii mii mii mii mii mii mii mii mii" lol but I had so much fun with it. It kept me interested in cars for sure. My first actual console was the N64, then I got Gamecube, switched over to Xbox 360 (got my first wheel on that for Forza 3), Xbox One, and have a Nintendo switch for Smash Bros Ultimate and a few other games. As far as PC goes, I've messed around with the level creator for Gears of War on a junkie computer I had but that was about 12 years ago and haven't owned a PC since.

Thank you all for letting me join in with the championship. Great gentleman to race with, no stupidity which let me settle in to the first event. Quali went as expected about 3.8 secs off the pace and last 😁. Next time I need to play around with set ups in quali to find more one lap pace Instead of generic set up. Start of the race in the dry the car seemed good and I could push on to stay with the pack. Then the rain came making the racing really tough, conditions changing all the time. Following Joeri he lost it on a puddle and unfortunately I chose the wrong side and we collided. Taking out his rear wing and my front end leaving bad damage to both of us and I lost loads of front end and about 2 seconds a lap but managed to hold my place. I took the chance to pit early when the track was drying but being new to it all I didn’t know how to change the tryes and I was sent back out on the same wets 😂 Thankfully everyone was very helpful telling me how to change them and 2 laps later I pitted for some softs to finish the race. A couple of spins later I held onto 4th. Can’t thank you all enough it was a steep learning curve for my first race but can’t wait to be back on track. Well done to all the podium finishers. Liam
