Hey Will, I was watching the in-game replay and it looks like I took you out at the start. Though nothing touched on screen, the game's hit detection registered that I caused your spin at the beginning of the race :/ .
Sorry about that, I had no idea that even happened until I watched the in-game footage...
EDIT: Our rear wheels did touch for a split second, your car just had a delayed reaction to the hit which made it look like nothing initially touched. DOH!😖

Really big thank you Tyler for organizing this race! Due to the virus and working from home, I was able to participate. Sounds strange, but I don't mind working from home that much anymore, these cars are great fun! Qualy went really well and managed to do a 1:26.5, never expected to go below 1:27 but Karl gave me a good challenge. My start was crappy and directly lost my place to Karl & Peter, just managed to hold of Dave. I knew I had to pass Peter, because Karl was running away by a second per lap and I wouldn't be able to reduce that gap that fast. Wasn't easy and stayed behind Peter for 3 laps to learn his lines and to find space to make a safe overtake. Going into lap4 I took him on the start/finish straight, time to catch Karl, who was about 3 seconds in front of me. Without pushing too much (and crash the car), we where really close in laptimes. Sometimes I took .4/.6 of a second, other lap Karl took that time back. This took on, even after Karl went into the pit early and I took the lead from him. On lap26 I had my moment of bad luck. When lapping Will I misjudged my braking point on the 'Bolderbergbocht', left the car in 3rd gear. Stupid and still don't know why, I shifted back into 2nd gear with the throttle fully open. All in all, very deserved win by Karl. You where faster in the race after the pitstops and kept your car on track! My little costly mistake

Hey no worries man, that was my first standing start & as the lights went out i didn't realise i was in neutral so my car didn't go anywhere. I got shunted into the pit wall No big deal. Those cars are fun to race. Looking forward to the next one guys

Q6 R DNF
Qualifying was ok and I beat my PB to start in 6th and I was pleased to be in front of Tyler on the grid. Made a decent start in the race and made up 2 places in T2 then it dawned on me that I’d started the race with my quali setup with 5 laps of fuel as I was planning my strategy I understeered off in T3 and ended up at the back of the field with some heavy damage, pitted and adjusted the fuel for a longer stint but after a lengthy stop I came out in P7 in front of Paulo, began to push and soon found I was reeling in Tyler (Vdub) in P6 managing to catch him as e went off in the chicane. I was pleased to keep the gap steady back to the leaders who I could see behind me on the track map. After several laps I had to pit again after another driver induced shunt, I rejoined the track just as Joe was about to lap me, I let him through and stayed with him for a few laps finding that I was quicker than Joe at certain parts of the circuit. Crashed again and decided that 7 laps down I’d had enough and retired.
Great to race in different cars and different, challenging circuits.
Congratulations to Karl for a great win, well done Tyler (Sgt F1) and Greg on your podium.
Hope to be back for Le Mans
Cheers
Dave

That was a fun one last night. I had a great start from P2 for the first time in a long time and just got ahead of Joeri. Lucky for me my team mate got in front of him as well, otherwise i may have been under too much pressure to control myself in the opening laps. I was trying to build a gap but the pace between the three of us was basically the same. By the time Peter and Joeri figured out who was going to come out of their battle on top i had only pulled out 3 seconds or so on them. By lap 15 the gap was still pretty much the same, but i was coming out of the final chicane i drifted a bit too wide and tapped the Red and White wall. I took some damage to the front left suspension and had to pit for the repair. When I rejoined I was in P3 with 12 second to Peter in P2 and 18 seconds to Joeri in P1. On top of that, the Brabhams of Tyler and Greg were only 6 second behind. I tried to focus and push and managed some quick laps after the repair. I put in some high 1:27s and some low 1:28s to close the gap in front. Then on lap 21 Peter had his incident with the wall and lost a tyre and i went past him. The gap ahead to Joeri was still about 14 seconds at that point, but just 2 laps later it was down to 4 seconds, so Joeri must have had a slight off. Then on Lap 26 after inching closer and closer to him he had a mis-shift that put him into the wall after the hairpin. It was unfortunate for Joeri as his pace was very quick. I was looking forward to trying to catch and see if i could get by him anywhere, but in the end didn't have to. A couple laps later I had an off at the first chicane that cost me about 10 seconds and after that i slowed down a bit and tried to just finish the race. I must say that everyone on track last night was great. There was no problems with blue flags and everyone gave clear intentions about where they were going. That was excellent. It was also wonderful to have more cars on the circuit. There have been some of these vintage races where there were only the four of us competing (Peter, Tyler, Greg and myself) and having more cars on track makes it feel more like a race and less like a marathon. I'm looking forward to the next one. Here's my video. mixer.com/niblips2?vod=269848034

Q 4 R 3
Happy with quali and surprised to be ahead of Peter, but probably due to him dozing off. Ran a little bit wide on the start and maybe was in wrong gear going into turn 2 because a few guys were able to just drive past. Then was nudged off track and fell back behind my teammate Tyler, 1 Million apologizes for hitting you in the hairpin. Luckily we both didn't take damage but I may have cost you a win with the time it took for you to right yourself. After that I just followed Tyler around. I was quicker in the turns but you were faster on the straight. I've never noticed such a dramatic difference in wing settings. I would spend the whole lap catching up then you would pull out the gap again from the hairpin to turn 1. (Plus my engineer was putting out a pit board that said "don't even think about passing him" because you know... the championship.) Really pleased with a 3rd.

That was payback for WEC Le Mans anyways I don't think that would have been enough time for me to catch Karl as I was about 50 seconds behind at the end and there's no way that our incident cost me that much time, maybe 15 seconds at most. I figured going with lower wings would at least give me a chance to stay somewhat close, pace wise with Joeri. It really did make a difference but my cornering was very slow and I wasn't as quick as I could have been at the beginning of the race.

Great to see all the new guys enjoying this race and finding out what we vintage veterans have known all along that these cars are the most fun in the game by far. Tough night for me as expected but still managed to enjoy myself for the most part. Quali: Never quite got the times that I have been capable of in practice but was starting to get there as the laps went by but on my second run the tiredness started to creep in and although being up several times and looking to get into the 27's little errors kept getting in the way. In the end the second row and 3rd place was not a bad place to start. Race: Start was decent and I kept close to Karl and got ahead of Joe into T1. With the constructors battle very much in my mind I didn;t want to compromise the team points by staying too close to my team mate so just allowed a little gap and concentrated on Jo in my mirrors. Kept him behind over the first few laps but his pace out of the final chicane was better than mine and he got a good run on me at the end of lap 3 and made a very nice clean move down into T1. I followed closely and was faster through a few of the sections but not where it could facilitate a decent passing opportunity so I sat back waiting for a possible mistake and with the gap behind growing was feeling in good shape for decent points.. I was starting to struggle to maintain focus around about lap 18 but still doing ok and keeping reasonable consistency until lap 21 when it all went to cock :/ I remember the first part of sector 1 fine and coing around the third turn onto the straight before the first chicane and setting a decent time there and was thinking about fuel and how much I was going to have over at the end and then the next thing I know I was facing the wrong way with no front left wheel!! No idea what happened and can only assumed I shot my eyes momentarily as looking back on my recording I drifted off to the right and hit the right side barrier where it joins another. That was my race over pretty much and I thought the best I could hope for was 6th place at that point. I got back to the pits and got back under way with Will over a lap ahead and then when he pitted I realised 5th place was there for the taking and when Joel had his incident I was able to sneak up into 4th place. That'll do I thought and with a healthy gap and decent times being set it seemed all was good for damage limitation with the gap behind staying pretty constant. Unfortunately one small lapse of concentration at the first chicane 2 laps from the end and then I just seemed to lose all pace and suddenly Joe was just a handful of seconds behind with less than 2 to go. On the final lap I went into turn 2 and the car wouldn't stop and just drifted off into the kitty litter giving Joe a nice easy pass. Overall a fun race for the first half but I was just too damn tired for the second and the result is there for all to see ( ).... Not sure how things are going to work out for LeMans and beyond now... I really want to race it and future races but it will be an hour later now the clocks have gone forward here and that may be an hour too far based on last week!! My quali and race:-
