That sucks so much Tyler. You were having a great race tonight, very impressive with limited practice.
I can't ever remember you getting disconnected before!!

Yeah that was a tough one Tyler. You were up front early dispite not having any practice. Things like that are hard to swallow, especially so far into the race.

Q:p3 but p2 with Dans penalty R:P1 😁
Some great racing Tyler looked like it was going to be a race long battle, gutted you got booted. Tricky first lap on the blacks 2 big moments dropped me down to 6th behind micko. Had to try get passed ASAP as it was horrible to follow Mick’s extra wide Honda. Felt confident on the blacks so just had to keep pushing not to lose touch with the front 4 on reds as the second half of each stint I could gain a bit of time back. Kept it on the island luckily for the whole race, 3 stints on the blacks and then a blast on reds for the last 9 laps just in case the 3 stoppers got track position and needed to do some overtaking. First ever endurance win so well chuffed. Thanks Pete for the great gesture on the last lap 👌

You earned it, great job 👌👍

Q - p2 (started p3 with grid pen)
R - 3rd
Qualifying went amazing I was initially struggling to get a lap where there wasn’t a joining lag normally just at the esses after 20 Mins I was down in 8th and just couldn’t get a lap in. I think people settled down and I started to really push hard my previous best before was a 1.55.9 so when I smashed a 1.54.6 in I felt amazing just wish I hadn’t used the kers button in the pit rather then the limiter 😥
The race started as well as it could me and Dave had spoken at length of are plan and for that to work we needed to be at the front and boy did we deliver seeing us both jump the cars in front and take 1st And 2nd felt great.
We really got are heads down and the first red stint went well. Put on the blacks and went for 2nd stint and we both again had amazing pace and pulled away again.
Then it all went to shit on the black on stint 3 I came outta the pits next to someone and ended up on the dirty and wrong part of the esses and spun.
I had another issue when Liam and formula1 we’re behind and I missed the esses all together so at the top of the hill I gave them both the lead as it felt wrong staying ahead by cheating.
Last stint on blacks was going well and with 10 laps to go I was 14s behind Peter so I started really really pushing on worn tyres and was really catching him quickly until 4 laps from the end when I was within 7s I pushed too hard on worn tyres and spun again ffs
I thought I’d then try to get fastest lap and adjusted strategy down the back straight but when I pitted they put a full tank in 😱
Eventually finished 3rd if I had not pitted and recovered from my spin and just drove I think I’d of been in the thick of the action after liams prang
Wow wow what an event thou normally I’d feel like any top three finish is a win but I guess it’s a sign of how far I’ve come in these cars that I’m annoyed I threw it all away and felt me and Dave couldn’t of drove better for 40 laps and really felt the result for us both was gonna be stronger.
Fair play to the field thou wasn’t many issues and no safety car the racing is so strong I’m happy to be a part of it.
Not looking forward to ovals hope I’m wrong but I feel it’s just gonna be a smash fest

You and Dave started really strong while myself and Karl got bottled up in the midfield. With the gap at over 20 seconds early on I knew we would have to push hard after the first pit stop but was surprised when you both pitted so early. We're your tyres written that badly at that stage? You were running the blacks for 3 stints? The different strategies really made this one interesting.
The ovals are brilliant but it is a very different type racing required and patience is the key. We've had some cracking races on them but never had this many for those races so it's going to be interesting to see how it works out.

Q4 R6
Qualifying has never been one of my strongest attributes, but I was overjoyed to be setting the pace early in the session, with a PB of 1:45.8 which ended up being good enough for 4th. Well done to Chris for taking pole with an incredible laptime.
Had a good formation lap and kept some brake and tyre temp as we formed up, and managed to get the jump on Chris and Liam to tuck in behind Dan in P2 for the opening stint. We had planned to run a shorter 1st stint on the Reds, with less fuel to attempt to make a gap back to those on Primes with a full fuel load. It worked like a charm and by lap 3 we were both extending the gap back to the pack with some fast laps. We both pitted on lap 8 and rejoined in P6 and found the track had really good grip, began to push and as the laps went by we regained P2 as the strategy played out. As the 2nd went on we had a fair gap back to P3 and we pitted again on lap 23 and rejoined in P6. We settled back in to the race with a good rhythm but with some scruffy laps Tyler managed to jump us in the pits and with a series of spins mainly in the Esses I had to make an unplanned stop for repairs. Those long repairs cost me a number of places and I ended up a lap down and in P6 which wasn’t the result we’d hoped for. But it was an emotional, exciting and very challenging race and huge congratulations to Liam for an excellent win (1st of many) and Pete for your P2 and my team mate Dan for another podium on your debut season.
It’s fantastic to see so many drivers in this series and I’m excited for the rest of the season
Cheers
Dave

Qualifying – P8 Race – RET (Lap 29)
Was pleased to get into the 1.46’s in qualifying as that’s where I’d been able to get to in practise sessions before. This put me into P8 and after our last race I was happier to be up the grid. Using a shared setup was key to this – thanks again Liam.
Good clean start to jump from P8 to P6. Was keeping pace for a few laps but as tyres started to go off I became a bit of a road block for the others behind. Having a close call on the brakes with Mick at the end of the long straight (Willow Springs spanking still fresh!) – I opted to pit to get off the reds and settle into a groove on the blacks. After fuel and tyres were in, I was held for around 50 seconds for repair. Couldn’t understand what this was for as I’d had a clean first stint plus no offs for damage.
Came out and started to set consistent lap times. Avoided a few shunts to get back upto P8 and then boxed again for blacks at the end of lap 25. Held this time for 4:30 seconds all due to engine damage. Despite running in normal fuel mix it wasn’t making a difference. Decided to call it on lap 30 as the car was in clear air but still burning up.
Did some investigation and the radiator opening wasn’t enough on the setup. Again another learning experience but a much more positive one. No 1st lap incidents, clean racing with awareness of people around and much better consistency.
Congratulations Liam on the win and thanks again for another great race. See you in a few weeks!

The different strategies really made this one interesting. 8 laps was optimal on them for me after that the risks and drop of was big You have to make up a hell of a lot of time though to make up for that extra stop and having to run the blacks for the majority of the race makes that even harder. I think the pit stops cost about 40-45 seconds off the top of my head so thats around 7/tenths per lap over the whole race to make up, tough one. It certainly added a nice strategic element to it all though and I was constantly doing the calculations in my head to work out where I needed to be to have the track position advantage. Getting past Micko early second stint was vital for that and was also why I ran the reds for the first three stints whereas originally I had intended to run the blacks in stint 2 or 3. But once you pitted and confirmed what I suspected you would do I knew running the blacks early would risk that track position. More information from the engineer would be good for things like that so I must get Crew Chief running for my races again.

It’s good to see you progressing Rich, these are very difficult and challenging races and I’m happy to read your enthusiastic race report. I’m sure in the future you’ll be challenging the top 5. It’s important to be aware of the temperatures of both the track and ambient to blank the Rads accordingly, lower rad cooling will give you quali pace for a few laps but will rapidly overheat the engine and end your race, so keep an eye on the conditions and adjust your setup to suit 👍🏻

Q last R 8th
Spend my quali getting used to me race setup, went for a flying lap at the end but spun out at the end of the lap.
My skipping record at the moment is Xbox issues, ran into a few new issues that ended up with my keyboard not working during the race so was stuck with my hard tire setup after my first soft stint, I got tangled up in the first lap crash and after pitting To fix the damage I asked to much from my new hard tires In the first turn and looped it straight into a wall. After pitting again I settled down into a good pace of mid 1.51-low 1.52 laps but after my mishaps at the start I was never going to be anywhere near the rest of the field so I just used it as a good practice session.
Hopefully I will have less technical issues and I little more luck for the next race

That sucks so much Tyler. You were having a great race tonight, very impressive with limited practice. I can't ever remember you getting disconnected before!! It happened one other time too, back in our first Vintage F1 season at the historic Monza oval+GP in the vanilla 49. The differences were that it happened in the early stages of the race rather than in the last 14 laps and when I wasn't fighting for the win...

Q 9 R 4 Quali, was absolutely floored when Dave put up that early time to beat. It was almost 2 seconds faster than anytime i had done. then the lap times just got quicker and quicker. I've never been one for qualifying well as i never work on a quali setup, i just use my race setup for quali. Did manage to nip Peter by a couple tenths though, so that puts us 1-1 as Peter outqualified me last time out. The race start was ok, the guys up front pulled away quickly and i got a little bogged. Was running P11 after turn one then on i had a little contact with Sam at T15. He was making a move up the inside and i didn't see him, i hope he didn't take any damage from it. I took slight damage to my front wing but was hoping it didn't effect my times. Then coming around the final turn to end lap one there was a crash in front of me that i didn't quite avoid enough, but luckily didn't take anymore damage from it. Looks like ian had a wobble and barrel rolled. I think Sam made contact with him as well. After a couple more laps i found myself behind Peter who was behind Richard and Mick. I didn't have any overspeed to try and make a move on either of them so just settled in and hoped to make it to the pitstop window without anymore damage. Eventually Peter pulled over to give me a shot at getting past Mick but when i started pushing the damage to front wing was more evident and i spun off knocking the wing completely off. That caused me to pit early at the end of lap 12, which turned out to just be enough of a pit window to still have a shot at making it a 3 stop race. I had to save a little fuel each lap but it was doable. After my first stint wing repair i was well over a minute down from the leaders and just needed to try and have a clear race for the rest. I had no cars around me for quite a while, and those that i did manage to get close to was only due to pitstop shuffle. I did have some fun later on in the race chasing down Will, but then had another big spin and threw away 20 more seconds. The only was i managed to finish so high in the end was down to keeping to the 3 stop strategy and benefiting from the mistakes of others. I'll take it though. With Peter finishing P2 that puts us 1-1 in the races so far this season. Gonna try to keep track of this for the rest of the season. He had a strong race and deserved the podium spot this week. I must say that Dave and Tyler and Dan are going to be tough to contend with this season, I'm looking forward to that. Congratulations to Liam on the win, you had a strong race. Next up, an oval.....I hope i have a setup from my teammate for that because those oval setups confuse me. Wow there's some novels above. Well done everybody....I had some great dices during the Race especially with Peter (again) we seem to have a battle every race. Profound apologies to Liam for the barge close to the end of the race. I was gaining on Dave, thought you had moved over to let my through...my mistake. So glad that Peter was so magnanimous and let you take a well deserved win well done mate.
I attach my highlights vid with 1st 20 laps from replay then remainder from my Twitch stream. Take a look at the sequence around 31 mins where I take 3 pit stops trying to change to Atl's. Any ideas as to why this happens?

Q - 7th R - 9th + fast lap
Well, I owe quite a few apologies here today. Mainly to Sam and a couple other guys who got tangled up in my stupid mistake.
Got into the seat late as hell for quali, was worried I'd miss out entirely but luckily there was some time left. I hadn't had a ton of practice but I was feeling fairly confident and had put down some really good times on the blacks, struggled a bit on the reds. Had too much grip on the front with them, was making it easy to loop the car if I went too hard on turn in which cost me on my laps for qualifying but I was just glad to make it.
My strategy was going to be blacks for the first few stints and just take fuel on my stops, then go to the reds at the end and push but I never got to put it into action. In the first corner I went quite wide to avoid any incidents there, got into the curb and lost a couple places, then lost another couple just continuing to tiptoe around and try to avoid accidents. As we came onto the front straight I got a bunch of wheel spin and instead of letting out since I had dropped so many positions i stayed in it and tried to drive out but I nipped the curb or something and lost it in front of a bunch of people. I felt at least 3 hits but there had to have been more. I felt like such an ass for doing that. Didnt wanna get dq'd for going backwards so I limped around at about 30 and tried to stay out of the way, something happened in the esses though, not sure what. I thought I was well off the track but someone nailed me and I ended up in the middle of the road, everyone else managed to miss it but I'm still not sure who it was.
Once repairs were done it was just a big test/ practice driving the car session since I was 5 laps down. Couple more incidents made it 9 by the flag. Car had excellent pace on the blacks, too; i was keeping up and even gaining at times on the guys running reds but they killed me on exit. Managed to knick the fast lap towards the end though so any points scavenged is good, even though I don't feel like i deserve it for ruining so many's night. If you were involved in that I can't even express how sorry I am, that was an amateur mistake on my part and I feel terrible about it, especially bar. I know he had a rough go last race too and was looking forward to yesterday and my mistake cost him that.
Great racing though from everyone, congrats to Liam on the win and let's hope things are a bit smoother at the Oval in a couple weeks
