I've yet to complete 12 laps without a spin or an off. I can dip into the 19s at the start, but after a few laps the tyres are no longer at their peak performance. Not sure how to keep them in the right window.

Must admit that I've not been as consistently in the 19's as I was in my first run at the track. I think that was probably to do with searching for even more time and messing with the setup in an effort to eradicate some of the oversteer. After that first attempt i've only done short sessions so never really got back into a groove.
I'm going to try to get some sleep after I finish work and if I wake up i'll jump on but i'm shattered right now 🥱😵

I haven't tried your setup Carl but i did add a bit of spring and a touch of downforse, it did help. After watching the fastest AI for a lap or two in the practice race I'm in now (110/60 difficulty/aggression) i noticed they were getting much better too speed than i was so some gearing adjustments helped. I've managed to crack the 21's but I'm not sure how consistently I can do so. I'm gonna go get your setup now and try that out though, see how it compares. If anyone wants to hop on with me and get some practice in send me a message or an invite and ill set something up before we get going tonight

Touch more activity at the rear than i like personally but nothing unmanageable, its bad fast! I got a 19.1 out of it before I caught AI traffic and got shoved off at the horseback and that was about 10 laps in

It can have slightly better traction with slightly lower pressures. I might go a little higher and see if that keeps the car in the 19s....i doubt it, but it's worth a shot. I won't be on until just before the race as i'm still at work.

Congrats to Karl on the win tonight and sealing the title 👍🥇
I knew that I had to get the victory tonight to take it down to an exciting finale at Watkins Glen hence why that pit stop disaster really pissed me off 🤬. It was a really fun start with myself Kari and Ian swapping the lead several times and when I was losing time behind Ian after Karl pitted I knew I had to either get past him early to prevent Karl getting the undercut. The one chance I had when Ian went deep into the left-hander before the chicane there was a bit of contact as he came back on so I decided to make an early stop and come out in clean air and pass him when he pitted. Blasted into the pits nice and clean and stopped right on spot only to see the crew immediately start repairing the car despite no damage and then the dreaded message informing me that there was an electrical problem 🤬 Gutted as I sat there for over 30 seconds watching the race disappear into the distance. Based on the gaps when I came out I would have had a nice lead with a decent stop but it was not to be and all that was left was 30 laps of just lapping alone with big gaps behind and ahead 😒. I ended up experimenting with different lines through the faster corners for a few laps to try to give me something to keep some interest and ran wide a couple of times losing about 10 more seconds but then I settled into a better rythm to the end of the race.
It really was all set for a brilliant race so that was as disappointing as the actual loss of points.
Well done Tyler on the second place, thought you had the win after getting past Karl towards the end but i've been there too with that limiter button slip so know myself what that's like.

Hell of a race Karl, I thought it was mine and then after shifting up to fourth my dumb arse pressed the pit limiter by accident when I put my hand back on the wheel 🤦🏼♂️.
I believe that secures you the Championship title too Karl, it's been great racing against you these past couple of years and you always provide a great fight. Congratulations on your first Vintage F1 title and second Vintage title (IndyCar 1965).
I'm gutted for Greg and Pete as they both have had some bad luck this season but am always glad to have you guys on track, I hope we can continue to race together even though it seems like everyone is moving to iRacing at the moment. I predict i'll still be here awhile even after Project Craps 3 is released.
Thanks for racing with us again Ian, it's nice to see an even number of cars and full teams on the grid. For a minute there Tyler I thought you were out OUT of the race, you have yet to get a DNF which is awesome. I'll stream your race a little later and we can find out what my end captured. I remember one time at Rouen, Pete ended up hitting a hay bale in the middle of the track but it was invisible for me as I was right behind him and he hadn't touched anything!

Just want to congradulate Karl on sealing the title, and to thank everyone for letting me come along and have some fun racing with you guys. The competition has been super close every race I've taken part in and its been just an absolute blast. Couldn't have picked a better season to join in on, too; the 72 is such a blast to drive!
Thanks to Karl's setup I found a ton of pace, that car was so rapid everywhere. I was happy with the 19.2 I ran which was basically identical to my practice laps earlier in the day but on the next lap I absolutely nailed the chicane and the exit into the back straight and managed an 18.2 somehow. Couldn't have been happier with that one, I love racing at Sugo. Definitely one of my favorite tracks in the game.
Race started good. Had a blinding start and was ahead of everyone by over half a second by the back straight but some small mistakes kept me from expanding that lead. I kept nipping the kerb in T3 and losing a ton of time there, especially to Pete who was super fast in that first sector. (Oh, by the way, was really stoked to see you in the lobby Pete. Glad you could make it in, always good racing with you!) As pete mentioned, me him and Karl swapped the lead back and forth for a while before Karl had his off and went in. I was running in the lead and had a bit of a moment in 4 and pete bumped me, luckily no damage so on we went until his pit stop. I was going to go in about 5 laps later when I nipped that kerb in 3 again but lost it this time and got damage, and when I pit I got a gearbox failure which ended up taking over a minute to fix. I was working my way back to getting a lap back when i had another minor spin and lost time so it was just a case if riding it out then. Watching the relatives that last 15 laps was wild, wish I'd have been closer to see the battle between tyler and Karl unfold.
Thanks again to all of you for letting me come along and have a bit of fun, and I'm looking forward to the Glen to close things out with this one. And whenever you decide to go ahead with the next season you can count me in for sure!

Well I qualified with pretty much exactly the time I had been setting offline which was good. Then on the start the game showed me in Neutral as the lights were coming on. I kept upshifting to try to be in 1st gear. Then when the lights went out my gear indicator finally worked and I was in 4th making for a terrible start. I don't know whats up but I was mega on the starts at one point. This season i've fugded the start more than in my entire career combined.
Then pushing to catch the front 3 I lost it exiting the double left hander near the end of the lap, a spot I never messed up in practice. Entering the pits to fix damage I must have clipped the wider back wheels on the pit wall(?) and spun the car in pit lane. Immediate DQ. I do appreciate the restart offer but I was just not in the mood by that point. Plus I believe Ian was out front at that point, and he sort of lost the lead and had his great start nullified at Monza due to a red flat restart. Me and this car have not got along and the curbs have not helped the relationship at any track. On to Watkins.

Well, that was quite a race. Ian had the pole by a mile with that 18.2. The only place i could get an 18 was in TT mode with perfect tyres and temps, and even then it was only an 18.9. Well done. I was slow off the start, typically, and Peter and Ian got a way from me a bit. They traded places a couple times and i caught up to them. Then Ian had a couple squirrly moments out of T3 and he started getting closer and closer to me. I forget where exactly i got past him then i started trying to close the gap to Peter. a few laps later and he went a little deep into T9 (after the back straight) and that slowed him down enough that i could get by. I was doing well from then until i started pushing and a couple laps later would up going wide onto the kerb out of T11 and then i got sucked into the wall. I took some damage to the suspension and knew at that moment i needed to stop to repair it. When i came back out of the pits i was last and about 18 seconds behind the leader.
I just tried to put some solid laps in from there and hoped to decrease the gap to P1. If i could close it up to 10 seconds i thought i could get back up front with the leaders after the pit shuffle. After Peter's mishap in the pits and Ian's little mistakes here and there I was back in P1 but with Tyler hot on my tail. He closed the gap little by little and over the last 15-20 laps of the race had put so much pressure on me that i went wide in the final turn and he got past. I'm sure he would have got past eventually without that mistake I made, but I had a small glimmer of hope that I would be able to defend to the end....that wasn't to be. I tried to keep up with him then with only 2 laps left (i think) he slowed out of turn T8 when he accidentally hit his pit limiter button and that was enough for me to get past him down the back straight. There wasn't enough race left for him to retake the position, but i'm sure with a couple more laps he would have been able to do it.
A great race in the end, but unfortunate for Peter and Ian with the pit stop repair issues. I really struggled early on in this series with the car but once i figured out how to drive it it was a tonne of fun. Looking forward to Watkins Glen. I'll post my video later tonight.

Greg did end up clipping the guard railing and it spun him backwards into the pits, immediately disqualifying him. That was some serious BS the game through down on you Greg, there should be a count down just like when you're facing the wrong way. I remember Pete getting DQ'd last year in the 49C at Sugo for entering the pits on the wrong end because his crew didn't fix the car correctly or something.
Tyler S got boned too, he ended up hitting an invisible barrier (only visible on his screen) in the middle of the circuit which caused him to lose a wheel and basically took him out of contention in the race. I love Sugo, but we've had some problems racing here. I guess it's a good thing Sugo is replaced with Fuji Speedway for the Japanese GP next season.
