Q: P7 R: P5
Today's race just was not a great one for me. I was lucky to have an hour of practice during the week and I thought I ironed out my qualy pace which was looking good but I just could not put a lap together. Every lap I just seemed to mess up a different corner and fix the one I messed up on the previous lap. At the end of the day P7 isn't that bad especially with how competitive our grid is but I think I had the pace to put in a mid 22. A huge shout out to Ian for absolutely demolishing us all in qualifying though, that was a great lap!
The start of the race could not have have gone worse. My plan for the race was to start on the blacks and go 15-16 laps then run the reds the rest of the way since I was confident I could run reds for a full fuel stint. On the opening lap someone had a spin exiting the bus stop chicane and I had nowhere else to go but over the inside curb and over the grass. Two corners later I got on the throttle too early and had a spin and unfortunately Karl was right behind me and had nowhere to go and hit me right in the rear left destroying my rear wing and rear left suspension. I limped back to the pits and made a crucial mistake. I should have gone onto the reds having run the blacks but mistakenly changed my pit strategy to the blacks as I would normally do with a lap 1 damage pit. I came out in front of Dave who was leading already and I was a lap down. At this point I was very pissed at myself for what had happened and this stint was awful. I had at least 4 spins and could not get the blacks to work at all and just resigned to running as long as possible and save fuel but was two laps down.
Luckily I was able to go on the reds after this stint and was able to get into a groove and put in consistent lap times and make the reds last 16 laps. Things were going well for me until we had the safety car late in the race. I don't know if this came down to me not knowing exactly what I needed to do or what once it was thrown but I caught up to Tyler who was leading and stayed behind him even though I was a lap down. Should I have gone around him and rejoined at the end of the pack or was I correct in joining behind him? I know we had issues at the Texas race and I didn't want to guess wrong so I played it safe but someone went around us and unlapped themselves so I then reacted and went around as well. Almost immediately after it was called the race would restart on that lap so I went into the pits knowing the packed up field would pass me and I could rejoin behind. It was asked a couple times what we should do and I did not hear a straight answer, and as stated earlier I could have just been ignorant on what I was supposed to do in that situation. Also my headset was not great during the race so it's possible an answer was given and I didn't hear it. Headsets and this game have been a huge pain in my ass and I don't know why it's only an issue with PCars but I have no issues on any other games.
Regardless after the restart I was good to go to the end and was hoping I could maybe make up a spot. Ian pitted late and he came out about 12 seconds behind me. My engine hit 30 damage with about 5 laps left and I was massively down on power and not even hitting 170 going into the bus stop chicane. After I let Dan and Tyler through Ian was pretty close behind and bringing the gap down considerably but luckily for me I think he had an issue and I was able to bring it home in 5th.
All said and done I'm really unhappy with this result. I think I had the tyre management and pace to compete for a podium spot and to throw it away in the first lap was incredibly frustrating especially when it also ended up costing someone else as well through no fault of their own.

Q- That did not go well...Apologies for the mayhem R- Oh, bloody hell. My luck strikes again...
So, didn't have much practice time in advance but managed to work out a decent race setup that did what I wanted it to that I was getting 1:27-ish out of pretty consistently with an occasional high 1:26, and a slightly faster qualifying setup that was more or less my race setup with reds and low fuel, not particularly quick but gives you an idea of where I was going in. Get to the race, go to qualify, that car would not go around a turn for love nor money. Spun under braking, acceleration, neutral power, everything. Spun right in front of someone in the boot, the best was when I spun coming around T1 and torpedoed Patty right in the sidepod, sorry mate, I was a passenger at that point. So I go back to pits, put my race setup on, run like three laps, 1:29, not happy but whatever, I'll take it, at least the car isn't completely uncontrollable if not feeling quite as good as before. Attempted a practice pit stop for reds and had a clutch failure in the pits, it was BBAAAAADD.
And then I had the controller kind of beside my seat and as I kind of shifted around in my chair, for the first time in the 4 years or so of having my wheel setup, the controller got a bit wedged between the seat cushion and the frame and hit the eject button. This is fairly typical of my luck. The first TORA race I ever did (Sebring 12 hour team race) my usually very reliable power went out for the first time in years, while I was waiting in the lobby for go time. And it's gone that way ever since.
Anyway, ran a 30 lap race by myself with 25 AI cars using weather as we were, guess what, running the same times more or less as before, car felt just bloody fine. Bloody hell. I'll be in for Texas and am already practicing for Road America. Usually on Saturdays at about 3 pm UK time if anyone wants to join me.

Q-10 R- 8 Couldnt get a lap together in Qualy so just focused on race pace.....then no FFB as the race started lol. Went for a couple laps on reds and pitted for blacks and a wheel reset. Came out and spun on colds and the wheel just felt odd at that point. Wanted to bring her home so just stuck it out lap after lap and stint after stint. Had a massive 720 spin late in the race and pitted for reds to get my PB late in the race. Hoped for more based on my practice pace. Onto the next one

Q: P9 R: P2🥈
That was one nail biting race for me especially at the end. I was so close to winning and if not for that safety car, I probably would have won. I had a great time none the less and drove a clean race which im really happy with.
I managed to avoid Peter by just a hair on the first lap when he spun and I picked up a few positions at that point. I wasn't quick enough to catch Liam in front of me as I started on the prime tyre and he ended up pulling away so I settled down in apppppfpffflfffftttttttttppppppppptptptptpppptptptppfpfpfppptptptpfpfpfpppptbbpbpbtpbpbpybpbptbpbptbptppptpppp.....oh, excuse me... I farted out of my thumbs for a second. Anyway, I settled down in a comfortable 5th. I kept it steady from then on and pitted on the last possible lap of fuel for my first two stops. As drivers made mistakes I eventually found myself running in first and with a comfortable gap to second, all I was worried about at that point was Peter as he was up to third charging through the field. Unfortunately Pete ended up on his roof somehow and when the safety car was called later it allowed my rivals to catch up.
In the end Will had a much faster pitstop and i'm guessing he only added fuel and didn't change tyres because after his stop I gained about 7 seconds on him in about the last 10 laps. I was one and a half seconds off of Will's bumper when he took home his maiden IndyCar win. Congratulations🍻🏆🥇 and well earned Will, it was a pleasure fighting for it last night and I was glad to see a new winner too. For a moment I thought I was going to have to settle for a third place finish because my teammate Dan was hot on my tail after his final pitstop and was decreasing the gap rapidly until he was about 2 seconds behind. I would have gladly let him pass easily if he managed to catch me as he out qualified me but then he had an incident which saw him lose his front wing. Luckily he was able to hold on and finish in third which scored Chip Ganassi some good points when the day was done.
It may have been a rough race for our teammate Dave but i'd just like to say that you've done some proper impressive driving this season, huge improvement from your performance last year and you shouldn't feel ashamed whatsoever about one or two 'bad' performances. It could have been a lot worse. The effort you're putting in is really showing out on the track and i'm glad you are on our team brother.
On to TeXasss, YEE HAH🐎🏇🕺🏼

Qualifying P2 Race P7
We’d worked hard preparing for this race and we were cautiously confident of a strong quali and race performance, we had worked on both tyre compounds and felt we had a strong strategy for the race, after qualifying in P2 behind Ian’s awesome 1:21.4 we knew we had a good chance of challenging in the race.
Prepared the car well for the start of the race and managed to jump Ian but couldn’t fight off my teammate Dan but mainted P2, Dan knew I had the edge over him in pace and we swapped positions before the Bus Stop, both Dan and I pulled away from Will in P3 with some quick laps on the Reds, Dan had a small incident and I found a 10 second gap back to Will now in P2, I kept pushing maintaining the gap with consistent laptimes, boxed for tyres and fuel on lap 10 and rejoined in P6, it took 1 or 2 laps for the blacks to reach their optimal temps but I soon found a good rhythm and began to pick off drivers as they pitted and retook the lead on lap 18, the car felt good all the way through the stint until lap 24 where I tried to carry too much speed into T11 ending with a half spin but I retained the lead by a much reduced gap, pitted a lap earlier than planned after the spin and rejoined in P4, strategy panned out and we retook the lead a few laps later which is where it all started to unravel, span out again in T11 and collected Liam as I tried to rejoin resulting in some heavy damage, boxed for repairs taking 2 mins 30 seconds and rejoined in P7, pushed on the out lap but I was frustrated at my earlier mistake and had another big shunt the following lap on the rumble strip before the Start/Finsh, by that time I realized the race was lost to me even though I was pushing hard I couldn’t regain the lost time or positions, I decided to try for the fastest lap and found some pace on the reds and on the last lap was 7 tenths up on my time before I came across cars on the cool down lap which cost me in terms of laptime then to run salt in the wounds Liam took the fastest lap bonus points. So, all in all the car was quick but the driver needs to improve but if you’re not winning you’re learning and we certainly learnt a great deal last night.
Huge congratulations to Will for a great maiden Indycar win, well deserved mate, you drove a great race, massive congratulations to my teammates Tyler and Dan for your podiums, it down to you 2 that we’ve taken the lead in the Teams Championship. Also congratulations to everyone that took part in this very challenging race event, I feel the competitiveness and professionalism of this group has really improved and you should all be very proud of your commitment and skill in this demanding and exciting series that we invest so much time in.
We move on to the night race at Texas Motor Speedway in 2 weeks which will be another challenge.
Cheers
Dave

Q-1st R-6th
They must've superglued my tires to the track on that fast lap, because it just seemed to stick everywhere I went. I even had a bit of a bobble coming out of the bus stop and still managed that lap somehow. Insane lap, still don't know how I managed that. Went on to run a practice stint on the blacks to reacclimate myself to the low grip and get an idea how my temps would react.
And then the race happened.
I knew that Dan and Dave would be pushing hard so I started on the reds but something happened with my wheel or setup again and i was having to turn the wheel way more than I had in any of our practices, quali sessions, anything. It was very strange, I'm not sure what happened but I tried to carry on. Went about a mile too deep at the bus stop, tried to corral it but span into everyone's way. It seemed like everyone did okay getting by but I wasn't sure. About 10 laps in I started getting the wheel shake that's always plagued me with this game, turning my controller off and back on seemed to help somewhat but it was around the whole race. Just had no confidence in my wheel, car felt great.
I had worked my way back up to 4th after some incidents and had an easy rode home to good points but I spun in the heel, I tried to call it out because i couldn't get the car to start back up but I managed to collect pete and Karl, killing Pete's race and making Karl's even more stressful. After that i tried to just plug away at catching Adam for 5th and was getting there rapidly but caught a wounded Dan in a bad place and got too impatient/greedy trying to get around him and wrecked myself. Think it's my turn to get a 1X now... Lost count of how many times tech problems screwed with me throughout a race. Still stoked on the pole though, that really helps this week bigtime after the poorer finish.

I'm sorry to have caused you such a large amount of damage in the collision. To be honest i was just happy to have made it though the chicane incident unscathed and thought that was going to be it for incidents on the first lap. I probably shouldn't have been following you so close, and i could have taken a different line through that turn in defence of a potential incident, but hindsight is 20/20. Live and learn. Plus it always makes it interesting coming from the back in a race to finish well. We both did well in the end considering.

After a spin you're always afraid to sit there on the racing line and get into someones way, but then if you move you have the chance someone else will misjudge it and hit you anyway. You had some killer pace in quali and did quite well to earn that extra 5 points.

Q-8?9? R-4
Quali was pretty good for me. Set a personal best, too bad it still put me in the rear of the field. Race start was ok and dodging the cars in the chicane on lap 1 was lucky, but 2 corners later i ended up in the back of Adam and lost my front wing. Pulling into the pits for the repair i told the crew not to change the tyres and they listened, but the engineer told me i had an electrical issue to go along with the front wing repair and when i finally came out i was a lap down. Stuck it out. Put some solid quick lap times down and started to make some headway. I kept up with the leaders pace and after the first round of stops shook out i had just managed to get the lap back that i lost. It was looking good from there and Peter and i did some quick laps on the reds in the 3rd stint but the incident with Ian took it's toll. Peter clipped Ian and i wound up hitting Peter who then went airborne and ended up on his roll bar. The Safety Car really needed to be called at that point just so no one else wound up being collected in the carnage. After that repair i think i ended up 2 laps down and just barely holding onto P5 i think. I had to have another stop before the end after a spin in T10 that i took some damage in but i needed the stop for fuel anyway so it kinda worked out. After a few more pitstop from people in front i found myself back into P4 and managed to bring it home for that. It was probably the best i could have done really given the first lap incident.
Just want to say well done again to Will for the win. Holding off Tyler in the latter stages of a race is no easy feat for sure, but he managed to do it. A well deserved win for you Will. I am really happy for you to get one this season.
Tyler was once again on form. He;s the most consistent driver in the field i think. he's always got a shot at the win. Dan had a great performance to come P3 considering how he felt his race pace was poor in the week leading up to the race. Maybe that new wheel gave you the extra confidence? Well done. And Dave. You had some cracking speed and put a lot of time into this race. It's too bad you didn't finish higher up really with that pace, but i'm sure you're going to turn it around for the next one. Your persistence will pay off again i'm sure. Absolutely gutted in the end that i wound up putting my team mate on his roof and out of the race. I'm sure there are better times to come for us. we've had some really bad luck the last few races. It's bound to turn around soon.

I'm still okay with the race, I ran cleanly for over 80 percent of it. That first lap spin was avoidable though, that shouldn't bave happened. The spin in the heel was due to old tires and trying to hustle my in lap, I was planning to pit that lap. just lost the rear under braking. I should've called out names but heat of the moment I suppose got me.

Quali -4th Race -3rd
Quali -
went awesome put in my best ever lap on the first attempt and just couldn’t better it, was gutted Dave was pipped to pole but I knew sitting 2Nd and 4th we could have a mega start.
Race start was perfection I really have the starts nailed and I was into p1 going up the hill, decided to let Dave past and take the lead as I knew in practice he had far superior pace. Was pleasantly surprised I could stay with Dave and we quickly built a almost 10s lead and the car felt great. Annoyingly I hit the front wing on the last corner and got 5 damage but it ruined my pace and I pushed as hard as I could and will eventually caught me in lap 8 I putted straight after his overtake and went into the blacks. Again pace and car felt great although the whole race I couldn’t take the bus stop like I had been in practice car felt loose and I was having to half throttle through it strange. Anyway race went well I stayed strong didn’t push too hard or risk any crashes and next two stints were perfect. Eventually got to the point I knew I had one stop left and planned to go on the reds for the last 10 laps, however with 17 laps to go the incident bought out the safety car me and Tyler at this point were bang on for a team 1-2 but foolishly I didn’t pit and just go black again I stayed out as was stubborn and wanted to execute the full plan. As soon as I saw will put then Catch up behind to us going slow I knew we had lost the race. I was so frustrated so decided to just go all out after the restart Tyler pitted a lap after and I managed to get a good 18s lead by doing quick quick laps on the blacks I knew it was my enough but I putted with 7 laps to go on the reds. Came outta the pits with so so much pace and was catching will and Tyler at 2-3s a lap and got to within 2s of Tyler and 7sof will with 3 laps remaining, gutting just as I was looking to make a move on Tyler I stupidly went for the kers on the start finish straight and the extra speed made me spin on t1 and I lost half my front wing and the other half was blocking my radiator 😡 had to literally do the last two laps in 6th gear poodling hoping I could make the end. I finished with 96 engine damage and was relieved but frustrated with myself.
Overall hell of a team result gutted for Dave but his time will come, I’ve said kids of time racecraft and management is key to these races and feel me and Tyler although never qualify well make the maximum outta what we got so big up to Tyler huge result buddy had the safety car not happened we would of had a 1-2. Dave keep plugging mate the stuff we do between races is what’s keeping me up there so let’s keep it up and I’m sure once you hook a race stint up a win is easily there.
Cheers for another great race guys

Qualy 5th
Race 1st
That's one of the most satisfying wins iv'e ever had. All season i have struggled with the rear of this car, i spent hours thurs/fri trying to make the car more stable & it worked. I said to my team mate Liam before the race this is the most confident & prepared iv'e ever been. I done a full race sim friday night before so not only did i have a good stable car but also the best strategy.
I started on the softs. Lap one was hairy, i almost got wiped out a couple of times by spinning cars but some how got through it all. I was sat in 3rd comfortably behind Dave & Dan & was already tyre saving as i knew i had to go longer than them to make my plan work. Pitted for the hards on lap 13/14 i think & eventually worked my way up to 1st place. There wasn't loads of action, not until i had a few spins & dropped a few places but i was still confident as i knew my rivals had one more stop to do than me. Well done to everyone who finished & to Tyler & Dan for the podium finishes. Tyler you really pushed me hard those last few laps, i had fuel saving to do which didn't make it any easier for me & it was touch & go on who was gonna win until the last lap i realised i had it in the bag... phhheeeewwww
Iv'e said it before & I'll say it again, we have a really good bunch of guys here & is always a pleasure to race with you all. Already looking forward to the next one! Cheers, Will
