When would everyone be interested in starting the season? It'll probably be a month or three out yet because of the Formula Renault season on Saturdays, Christmas season and waiting for some more sign-ups I'm starting a new job working nights exclusively for the time being so any day/time is fine as long as its not between 10pm - 6am Eastern time lol. If i remember correctly there's gonna be 2 or 3 one off events through november and the beginning of december so maybe waiting until the middle/tail end of the Renault 3.5 season is the way to go for everyone. As for what day, doing Wednesdays again would be neat, or doing the alternating/ opposing saturdays from the Renault series would be a good shot

Happy to go with any start date but not sure it needs to wait on whatever happens with other series. The likelihood is that there will be something following the Renault series anyway so it will still have that to contend with.
Personally i'm probably not racing the Renault series so this one may be my lone series after Indycar.
I think maybe wait until next gen is realeased nect month as there is every possibility that it will fragment the way things work as it looks like it will create yet another situation where an advantage is gained by having the new console and that will create problems for anything being run. It may well be the catalyst for my dropping out of online racing as I know how frustrating it is racing when the playing field is not equal. Not sure who in this series will still be on the X but maybe some testing could be done to see how the different consoles affect performance.

I have no plans on getting the next gen console as of yet, i'm still content with what we have going on here. Perhaps we should start next month then?
Can Project Cars 2 run on the new Xbox series consoles? If it can, will it be able to handle more processing of the game or will it just be an emulation of it because it's a previous gen game?

I would guess it'll just be an emulation, probably on par with performance on the x but mayne a touch more stable, I'd be curious to see how it compares

Its likely to be a bigger diffetence than the move from the One to the X because trees such a but leap in power. There is likely going to be a clear performance improvement and a resultant distinct advantage for those on it over those not. Smoother framerates and input make quite a difference. It will be a big difference for ACC for sure because that game struggles somewhat on the X.

After a little research, I have a different opinion on the Xbox series. It looks like for the first time ever you'll be able to use all past compatible accessories (gamepads, racing wheels!!, guitar controllers) with the new system.
Apparently as long as you have a disk you can play any xbox game ever but not every title will be available for digital download. In that case, i'm guessing that it won't be emulation and it will actually be running the games as they were except smoother than ever before because of all the extra processing power.
EDIT: Confirmed! It will actually be running the games and not be emulation 😯 Omg Original Halo...

Yeah i'm aware of the whole backwards compatability and in terms of single player thats great but that doesn't change my concerns that it creates a very muti-tiered platform online with performance advantages increasing as you go up the tiers from the One to the X to the Series X. There's no way that the performance in a game will be equal between them when there's such a vast difference in power between them. You've only got to see the advantage there is between the One and the X to know that.

Yeah I definitely want us all on an even playing ground too. We sure as heck don't have the cash for the next gen so i'll be on the X for the foreseeable future anyway. It's not like how the One was where the game was unplayable for me and an upgrade was immediately needed, the game works fine on the X for what we're doing.
If worst comes to worst I have to chop it up as 'you get what you pay for' like real F1 or simply switch over to single player racing too...

I don't have any current plans to move over as its onky ACC that really needs more power to make it perform better amongst the games I currently play. I don't think Karl has plans for the new one either. I do think there will be several from our Indycar league and subsequent championships that will though so that will definitely play into my decisions on online racing going forward.

I'm looking into getting an X but not the series X, much as I'd love the newest one I don't want to pay release prices or get into a fistfight with suburban mom #47 over one. Hopefully somebody does one of those comparison videos like the one I think Pete shared for ACC comparing the one S to the One X, it'd be cool to see how big of a gap it is

I remember Y22 Rydr who used to race with us saying that PCars2 on PC was more defined and had better FFB than Xbox1 X. I can imagine that the series X will be capable of running PCars2 with better more defined FFB at the very least

Yes that's where I sit on it too. I can't believe all that extra power will not have beneficial effects on the games performance. FFB, smoothness, inputs, etc. will all be improved.
I'm not currently looking at the series X because most games I play work perfectly well on the One X. The one that would really benefit from the extra power would be ACC but i'm not laying out 500 quid for just one game. But it does concern me that there will be an advantage for those playing on the new box.

Well, i'm sticking with current gen until further notice. So that's Pete, Ian, me, and i'm guessing Karl will be staying on the X as he just got it not too long ago.
The Vintage series will have most if not all of us playing on the Vintage hardware so hopefully this neck of the woods won't really be affected. The next IndyCar season though i'm slightly worried about...

Vintage on vintage lol I like it 👍
Next Indycar is don't way off so plenty of time to identify any problems. If there were enough it us we could should the grid into hardware tiers but that's unlikely to happen.
Anyway, this is vintage area so let's get talking about that. When do you think will be the optimum time to get this season started?

I've gotten myself in a massive production for a Machinima on Halo MCC so i've been forging set pieces for that in my spare time and haven't done much racing. If we all want to start sooner i'm fine with that too.

I've got no idea what you just said but it sounds impressive lol January is fine with me Tyler, i've not had any chance to get in the car other than one little test so it will give time to get in some more practice with this car if things would just ease up for me on the work front. How about if we aim for the second Wednesday I January as a provisional start date? That would be the 13th.

How about if we aim for the second Wednesday I January as a provisional start date? That would be the 13th. Lol, well to begin, Machinima is Cinema made using machines. In this case the machines specifically being video games. So I guess the videos I was making of our races for awhile there were Machinima all along and I didn't even know it. Forge is a mode in several of the Halo games that let's you place and edit weapons, vehicles, spawn points, and a plethora of other scenery pieces like building blocks, trees, and a number of other items on any of the multiplayer maps in the game. Some forge modes go so far as having blank canvas maps and to allow you to place triggers in your maps and press-able buttons to add other cool stuff to your levels. Forge mixed with the theater mode in Halo easily allows creators to make their own role play levels or like in our case movies. I am helping make the set designs and do body acting (in the game) for Mystic Wolf Productions. The next film takes place in the U.K. and we have to build/built sets that look like the Windsor Castle, Tower of London, and some suburban areas. Anyways, the 13th of January sounds like a plan lol. I'll amend the calendar soon

If we all want to start sooner i'm fine with that too. That's really cool that they'd have the foresight to put something like that in the game, that sort of stuff really boosts longevity for games. A lot like Bethesda adding mod support for Skyrim and fallout 4 on the consoles, something much needed. If only they'd do something similar for new Vegas... I'd buy that game 100 times over if they had mod support on console. That's an awesome project to work on though, I was never big on playing Halo but I loved the lore and everything behind it all, I'm excited to see what your group comes up with! As for the vintage series... Mid January sounds good to me as well. I've done a smidge of practice but with FR3.5 coming up and the few sports car races I've messed with those mostly. Now that I've got an Xbox that actually does as it's told I'm really excited for everything we've got coming up between this series, the one-offs and the renaults.
