Kunos announced yesterday the 2020 season update which includes the 2020 Ferrari and Mercedes cars as well as Imola will be released in January and it will be part of the Season Pass if you already purchased it. This released a couple months ago on PC and it includes new tyre physics for the 2020 season and seems to be an overall positive update.

A new circuit as well, that's good. Always loved Imola although wish it was the old version.
I've not got the season pass but good to see that there is now an additional dlc for it.

I haven't been on my Xbox for and a month now. Usually i'm itching to get back on after a weeks break but i'm not finding any motivation for it these days. I totally get that. I hadn't had a chance to get any seat time due to being pretty busy for almost 2 months and wasn't missing it much and prioritized pretty much everything else over it. Last weekend I was finally able to and had a blast on ACC. Now I'm excited again to get some more seat time but on Tuesday I was cooking and cut the index finger on my left hand really bad with a knife and basically can't use it. I don't typically use that finger for shifting or anything else so I think I'll be OK to race but I'm not 100% sure it wouldn't open the cut back up so probably going to have to take another week or 2 off. Funny how all that works.

New cars, events, and Imola are out! Been taking a bit of a break, too, but this is an unexpected update today (I think). A ton of new events instead of just a handful should be fun. It was scheduled to come out this month but there hadn't been an announcement until Monday. I was off work today so I was able to put about 5 hours in and everything seems good. The updates to the special events is much needed and there are so many more than there were before! I was able to put time into two of them as well as doing some running in my main (the Audi) at Imola. One event was the Audi GT4 Hotlap at Imola and the other was the new 2020 Ferrari 50 minute hot stint at Imola. I've never cared for Imola as a circuit but it works really well with these cars and I had a lot of fun. Obviously there aren't a lot of people that have done these events yet but when I finished tonight I was 12th in the Audi GT4 (of like 60) and 2nd (of 50ish) on the Ferrari hot stint. The new 2020 tyre model seems like an improvement but I need to put more time in until I can make a full judgement. I saw a few posts on Reddit about there being some issues with multiplayer but I'm not sure what is going on with that.

Woke up this morning and it turns out multiplayer is completely broken on both Playstation and XBox. I've seen posts from people having to cancel league races and everything, it's just such a disappointment they make nice improvements to the game but then completely break it again. How could they possibly release an update that breaks multiplayer?

Oh what a shame but unfortunately no real surprise. I've always loved Imola so ill probably look at getting this at point but probably will wait until Season Pass is on some sorry of discount.
I've not been on the Xbox other than for Saturdays Formula Renault race since LeMans back in November. That's my longest break since I started racing. I wasn't really missing it tbh but I'll see how things go in respect of getting back to racing in full again.

It's good to have a break now and again. I'll get bored with sim racing or my motorcycle, will think of selling it all. Then when I eventually take them for a spin again, I quickly remembered why I loved them in the first place. Haven't done any of the new events yet, still doing a Hotlap challenge at Misano. 10PM Clear. Alien is 33.699 and platinum is 34.999. Really glad there are new challenges. Hotstints have been my favorite.

I was able to get on for the first time in weeks and gave the new DLC a try. I've always liked Donington, hated Oulton Park, and I've never driven the 300 layout at Snetterton. So naturally Donington was a blast, Oulton was a nightmare for me, and Snetterton was a learning experience. Didn't put enough time on any of them to put down any quick times but it was fun. I also decided to give the 2020 Mercedes a try and I really enjoyed it since you can actually use a lot of the curbs compared to the Audi where if you try using certain curbs you're gonna have a really terrible time.

Not tried the new content yet as I'm still enjoying Imola too much on it Will check it out and see what it's like. Bug wise it seems to be more stable but I'm now having issues with Server Disconnects. Frustrating as I've ben picking up my pace on the game and I seem to get to a good point in racing and then I'm kicked! Matt and I managed a few games last night. Was good fun.

'I was having a terrible time with lag, and dropping. DNF crash, and DQ for track limits. LOL. It was frustrating to say the least. But. When it worked I was really enjoying it. Not sure if the lag and dropping was my internal issue. They keep giving me new cars to try. I really need to pick one and stick with it.

I've only ever driven the Astons other than in the special events. I just felt if I stuck with one car initially I would get a better handle on the game. I've really put very limited time in on it though mainly because of how stuttery I found it. Once you've been playing for a while you do kind of get used to it but then once you go back to pCars it takes getting used to it all over again.

Do either of you ever race the AI and what level do you have them at?
I grabbed the season pass today as it was on almost 50% discount so now have all the DLC installed. I spent a good hour and a half in it today but still finding the old frustrations with it for the first half of that. I find it so difficult to adjust to the clunkiness of the game and lack of sense of speed. Coming from pCars2, ACC just seems so slow and the cars a bit like handing a boat in comparison to what we've been racing recently. However, suddenly it seems to click and the feel comes back and you can start to enjoy it again.
I still find the ratings annoying at times, for instance I started off with TR at 94 and CN at 87 but within a couple of laps that had stored to 89 and 84!! I decided to have a couple of races at Imola to try to imprudent my Safety Rating and deliberately spent both races closer with the AI and initially it for from 43 to 42 for no apparent reason but then back to 43 and then lap after lap it flashed green at the start finish line but didn't change. I was rescuing closer with no contact, pulling off a few nice, clean passes so fully expected the rating to increase by a few points but no.. it was still at 43 when I finished although did gain one point when I went to check the ratings afterwards. I ran another race and had similar happen again. Any of you guys find that? I'm now at a rating of 44 but it looks like it will take me some time to get up to that 50 mark.
My CC rating dropped by a point in the second race and CN by one or two as well. Its a bit confusing how they work things out. You can run lap after lap within a few tenths and get no improvement but one iffy lap and they take you down!!
I also found the button assignments didn't work today. I had the hud info mapped to my d-pad but none of them worked for some reason. Did the last update not give us full button mapping to a keyboard that had been asked for ever since the game first came out?
Anyway, despite the frustrations I did have some fun but it's certainly not a pick up and race type of game and needs a lot of adjusting to after racing anything else.

I do race the AI, I have it turned all the way up. I wasn't doing my self any favors turning it down. I wish I could help you with the ratings system. I have been using the scale that tells you when you over drive the corners(Boy do I do that a lot) . I'm with you, the ratings system is nuts.8) I should probably look a little deeper into how that defines things. I found out the hard way that I need alot of practice at starts. I keep getting drive through penalties. I have been having issues with button mapping a keyboard. I haven't been able to make it work. I'm glad you are starting to enjoy it. Maybe it will keep us busy until the new F1 game is out.
