Yet more problems for me with this game.. having created a second profile just for this game and got the special events back all was going nicely. Then I got on tonight and now it won't allow me to select my wheel with the new profile. Started a race and the throttle and steering wasnt working so I went into the controls screen and noticed it was set as a controller. Did the usual and tabbed over to the wheel and went back to the race but still no joy. Looked in the controls screen again and it had gone back to controller. I selected wheel again, saved it again, even created a profile for it and loaded that but when I back out and then go back in to the controls screen its back to controller. Messed around with it for close to two hours including uninstalling and reinstalling the game but nada.. just wanted to get some racing in ffs!!
I know back when the game was released there were problems with wheel recognition but why its come back for me now god only knows.
Any ideas before I finally bin this game!!

It's incredible how much grief this game has given you in the way of technical issues. I know a read post on the ACC sub-reddit the other day and someone on XBOX said they've been having trouble since the last update with their wheel and pedals being recognized but it sounds like you're doing what had to be done right after launch to get it to connect. Are you turning your controller off before exiting the menus? If that doesn't work I don't know what else you can do at this point.

I've tried not even having my controller connected at all and still the game defaults to that as the control device. I can select the wheel in Controls but it just doesn't stick. It's much worse than the original problem when the game was released because this time I can't get the game to see my wheel and pedals as the control device even after all those workarounds.
It's so frustrating... I do so want to love this game for what it does give us when it's working but this past 6 weeks since that update have been infuriating!! It's crazy that a few days ago it was working fine but now nothing despite not changing anything at all in the intervening period 😒🤨.
This alone has me thinking that maybe it's time to move on from the Xbox 🤔 I don't particularly want to right now but I'm fed up of this sort of grief. Consoles are supposed to be quick and easy.. that's the big advantage they have over pc's.

Oh and incidentally if I go back to my proper profile and start the game my wheel and pedals are working as normal so it's nothing to do with them. My only choices right now is to use my old profile for racing but with no special events and also having to start from scratch again because I deleted my save file when trying to resolve the events problem.
Unreal how screwy things have been. What's worse is the complete disregard for these problems by the company.

Well problem now resolved. It turns out that my primary profile had signed itself in while I was in my secondary profile that I created just to run ACC so that profile I guess kept control of my wheel and pedals. Once I realised this and force signed it out everything came back to normal. Strange how the buttons were still working fine though.. anyway, live and learn I guess.

I take it back.. went back to the game tonight and had the same problem. After half an hours pfaffing about I finally got the wheel and pedals working again and then after about an hours hotlapping around Snetterton (is there a tougher track in the game..) the car inexplicably ground to a halt with no warning. Throttle had stopped working again!! Tried for a few minutes to get it back but then gave up the ghost. Seems like complete pot luck whether the game works for me or not. Nothing wrong with the wheel or pedals as it's just ACC that has problems with them.
I think I'll drop Microsoft a line and request a refund due to the latest patch really messing things up and complete lack of support from the developers. It's a shame as once I get going I do enjoy it but with the limited time I have available I just can't spend half of it sodding around trying to get this game to work.

I have found that if I use the power button on the box it's self, there's not an issue. Game on, then for what ever reason it changes back to 'controller' and the controller is on. Race screwed, lap screwed, et al. My recent leisurely trips around the Azure Coast (PC2) have shown me how big a difference the graphics are as well. It is a drive-or-not-drive, conundrum.
I know how frustrated I am. I can't even begin to imagine having the issues you have had Peter.

Well there's the thing you see because I always start my Xbox up using the power button. Even with the controller completely disconnected before I fire the box up I still get ther problem. If there was a consistent workaround I would not mind so much, not ideal still but at least I wouold know what to do to get myself driving. I think this problem is definitely linked to the two profiles that I have to have for this game as the wheel/pedals are never a problem in my primary profile but I just have no events and stats in that one. In the secondary ACC profile everything for me but the wheel / pedals are just a problem major problem. Mad isn't it... these problems are supposed to be the domain of PC gamers and consoles are supposed to be turn it on and play!! |

Finaly managed to get on ACC tonight without having to mess around trying to get the wheel and pedals working. Didn't do anything different but it just worked straight away.
Had an hour lapping around Snetterton which is fast becoming a new favourite track of mine. Very tricky circuit with lots of challenging corners.
