I’ve seen that there are a lot of new posts added in Discord about this series and I’m not liking the look of the whole driver swap setup. It was originally going to be nice and simple with separate quali and race for each stint but the new system just looks so messy and likely to create chaos. I’ll have a proper read and let you know, I see you’ve been on there Bryan.

Just read them all and not liking it at all. I’ve no idea how it will work and who monitors that everyone adheres to this five minute wait at the end of the pit lane rule. Surely it will mean multiple cars are sitting there waiting so what if someone needs to come in following an incident🤔 They’ve really confused what was initially a simple setup with this now. It’s going to cause chaos and confusion not to mention lots of really bad lag for everyone not pitting 🙄
No mandatory pit stops now either, just 45 lap stints. Very confusing and so open to abuse.

I have to agree with you on that Pete. I have read and reread the rules for this and it seems that most people just want to keep trying to find a better way to do it. How far backward will they go to try to improve this?

Yeah, so basically I asked some questions regarding the driver swap as I still have no clue as how the server is able to dictate wtat team is leading and what is the gap between us all. I saw the OSR video and there is no difficulty on doing it, but on the overall picture seems confusing. I`m going to watch some more videos in YT at this guys seem of be mirroring what the other "semi-pro" leagues do, this method is not intuitive at all LOL. I recommend everybody go to the DISCORD and read the IXR> driver swap system and try to understand it, the more questions we all ask over there the better as we can all group later and comment about it.

I’ve read and re-read it and am still totally confused lol. So each stint we pit on lap 45, then once past the pit lane entry we disconnect. The driver for the next stint then connects to the server and goes to the end of the pit lane to wait until 5 minutes have passed since the first driver disconnected. Then at that point rejoins the race and drives his 45 lap stint and the process repeats.
But as Bryan says how does the server know who is in what position in the race. Once you disconnect you are out of the race and the next car to join will be shown as 45 laps down. That’s what was showing on the leaderboard on Saturday when cars joined our server partway through the race.
If we all pit on the same lap it just seems like chaos will ensue with multiple cars waiting to get on the track. Not sure what the whole 5 minute wait thing is about either.
What’s to stop a driver just joining in before his teamates stint is up.

Maybe we’ll have to test this out ourselves on the test server to try to get our heads around it.

I understand all the procedures as you Pete, at least we are on the same page with that LOL.
From what I can understand maybe the first team (for example if it is a 6hr race with 3 drivers) that marks for example 45 laps each would be declared as the winner, so if the 3 drivers at the same team manage to complete the stint before anybody and it is showed in the leaderboard then we win? haha I don´t know even if I managed to get my point across.

I think if I could see it in practice it would make more sense but now I see that cars will be ghosted in the pit lane it is even more open to abuse. How are they actually going to be able to monitor who is really waiting the 5 minutes to start their stint to ensure parity. And why 5 minutes.. is that how long it takes to get into the server and the setup loaded?

I think is a safe time, takes like 2-3 minutes to enter the lobby and maybe tweak your setup a bit, and regarding the abuse on the waiting time I think we can only hope on the honesty of all the fellow drivers, or maybe someone will be monitoring the lobby on spectator mode or Twitch or something.

Just can't find the date or time...DOH!!!!

So now I’ve updated the original post with the details of the driver stints can we make our choices please.
Here are the stints…
Practice - 15:00 to 15:30 Qualifying 1 - 15:30 to 16:00 Stint 1 - 45 Laps - 16:00 to 17:30 Stint 2 - 45 Laps - 17:35 to 19:05 Stint 3 - 45 Laps - 19:10 to 20:40 Stint 4 - To the end - 20:45 to 22:15
Times will not be exact with different paced drivers etc, end of event likely to be around 23:00.
*all times in GMT
Must admit it didn’t register with me that the first round was in the final Saturday before Christmas, not great timing tbh as that’s usually the busiest pre-Christmas weekend.

It looks like we might be able to fit shopping in there if needed. I'm available for any shift. Not sure how good I'd be at the start/qualifying.

Ok so stints are not that bad TBH, thought we would be racing at crazy times in the early morning LOL. Considering I live -6HRS than you guys in the UK all stints are at a very decent time of day, first stint would be around 9am-10am my time so I can definetly make it work if you want it. Peter I know you keep yourself busy in some afternoons and Waynes work is also a possibility so I would encourage you both to choose your stints and I can work around them.
Cheers

It’s all getting very confusing in this series 🙃 More updates on the Discord that I need to read through with a new Driver Swap series now. I’m not sure why it’s all being lumped together in the same Discord channel rather than having one of its own though, just something else to confuse things further. Also need to refine our car number with the stint designation too 🤓😏🤯

I’ve been using over the black liveries, I’ll have to look next time I’m on which one it is.
