How do you get it to come up automatically, I haven't seen a setting for that. Plus what if your pit stall is right at the front, you'll never have time to adjust anything lol.
Nice idea about the clutch pedal, I'll try that 👍
Edit: just tried to use the clutch for the MFD and it doesn’t allow it. The clutch isn’t recognised in the mapping screen 😏

Another frustrating one last night.. had an hour so thought I would do a one hour race with the time sped up to go through the transitions of day and night. Also set the race up to have a mandatory pit stop like the IXR series will have to get in a bit of pit stop practice. What a mistake that was... As soon as i'm on the grid I get the message that it's an invalid strategy, even though I had set the strategy to take fuel and tyres and swap the driver because that's what it was demanding. No matter what I changed it still said invalid. I exited and restarted checking that I hadn't set anything incorrectly and no it was all fine but still couldn't get rid of that invalid message.
I started the race anyway and tried to work out what the problem was but there was nothing I could change that made it valid. Anyone have any clue what the problem could be. I had a problem like that last time I tried having pit stops but can't fathom what is causing it now.
Also, when you set to swap the driver how does that work, does it just leave you in the car or will it actually swap me out for an AI driver?
This game is so confusing and totally unintuitive and I'm not sure I can spend time on it when this sort of thing could completely ruin my race and as a result the teams too.
Never experienced so may issues with a game,Kunos are just appalling in how they've left it with no attempts to fix the many issues it still has after 18 months since release.

On the button mapping its still a big problem with so many things needed and not enough buttons to assign to them. It's even more infuriating because they disabled the keyboard mapping that at one point was open with a workaround. They are clearly never going to fix this so we are stuck with being unable to have available all the in-car options that are required to race properly.
I need these at a minimum
Look back Engineering MFD Pit stop MFD Standings Actual race position Pit limiter FoV adjustment Dash screens
There's plenty more things that could be assigned to a keypad such as TC, ABS, Brake bias, etc but at least they can be accessed through the Engineering MFD by its so fiddly to do that way when also trying to race.

I was able to access the Server this morning so I'll maybe be on later tonight and see if we're able to meet up. Sounds as if it's been giving you a lot of trouble, Pete.
On the button mapping you don't need the out limiter mapped as when you shift into 1st in the puts, it puts the limiter in for you. Typically Everything else is done through the MFD. We can talk about it next time we're all on.
Saturday may be a challenge for me know but will let you know.

Cold tire warning during hot laps. And again later on in laps on the same tires. Anyone else had this? I'm about to put it on the pile until the February patch comes out. Thanks Pete, I had to go and read your wants for the keyboard mapping. I didn't know what I was missing. LOL I said it already. Batty!!!

Yeah found it. I’ve just had to go back to basics and not have things that I like mapped. I usually have one button for looking back but have had to abandon that as there are simply not enough buttons. I enabled the virtual mirror but I get nothing so not sure whether that’s because I’m in helmet camera view and it’s not available in that.
I have the following:-
B Pit menu A Electronics Y Standings X Actual race position
I can set the cycle view button to something so maybe I’ll set that as look back. That will be it then as that’s the limit of my buttons.
I do find that even when set like this that they don’t always work properly. Pressing Y for instance will bring up standings but pressing it again didn’t close it. It’s very inconsistent and sometimes needs to be held down to close that display and sometimes that doesn’t work either.

I’ll probably be getting on at about 9 for an hour if anyone is around for practice on Wayne’s server.
I completed an hour race earlier today and my SA went up from 22 to 37!! It went up consistently from 22 to 29 during the race but then post race it jumped to 37 😀 not complaining but shows how ambiguous these ratings can be.

I'm on now but under my secondary profile XRF Hammer62
Unfortunately it's been set to just 20 minutes qualifying and 10 minutes race and a safety requirment of 25.
All the servers are set to crappy short sessions, pointless 👎

I’m guessing no one else got in tonight?
I just did another hours race at x12 time progression. Managed to get my SA up again this time from 37 to 49 and CC is now going steadily upwards and sits at 80. CN is a bit up and down and has dropped a point this time to 75. It’s really difficult to remain consistent as the darkness descends until you get used to it. Definitely hope you guys are practicing in the transitions from day to night because they take some getting used to. Put my pressures up by 1 for the pit stop to take into account the colder conditions and it seemed to work with the tyre temperatures remaining stable and lap times staying there or thereabouts with my daytime times.

Despite putting in a decent number of laps now I’m not actually finding any more pace and am still stuck in the 2:04-2:05 range mainly. Wondering whether one of the other cars might have a bit more pace to it. Anyone tried a different car since we started practicing for this series?

I plan on doing some serious running tomorrow after the game. My fastest time in the NSX so far is 2:4.7. It's been frustrating but I've stuck with it. I think tomorrow should be a good day to try something new.

I’m going to check out another car maybe today. Before driving this one I pretty much exclusively drive the Astons and I’m not totally sure but in my head I think I was getting 2:01’s at Silverstone in that when I drive some races there.
I’ll report back when I’ve tried it out.

I’ll report back when I’ve tried it out. Knowing your affinity for Astons I thought that might be your go-to car. I'm going to give the McLaren a shot. We can compare notes later. I hope everyone is having a great day.

I’m just 15 minutes into another race, this time in the Aston and there’s no doubt that this car is more compliant, nimble and loose than the Honda. Lap times at the moment are no better than that car but it just feels as though it will be quicker and improve more as the fuel burns off so I’ll report back once I’ve done some further laps.
Interested to hear back in your McLaren tests too Matt.
Anyone else want to weigh in with some thoughts please do so as this has to be a team decision.

Wayne’s server was only set for 8 minute quali and 10 minute race so it would need to be changed. Just a practice run basically.

I was able to run a pair of 10 minute hot stints last night. Both were done at 2200 hours. One with the McLaren, and one with Aston. By the end of each stint I was a second faster than any set of consistent lap times in the NSX. I was closer to 2:04 than 2:05. I saw that the practice server is being adjusted for time and practice. So I will wait on further comparison.

I am trying ot get some clarity on the format of the races we are going to be running. We really need to know things such as time of day for the races, time progression rate and conditions. Hopefully that info will be forthcoming shortly.

I did some running earier. I tested a few different cars. The McLaren for the rear engine models, and in order; Aston, Lexus, Porsche, and AMG. I was able to stay consistently in the 2:03.5 to 04 second lap times at 2200 hours with the McLaren and Just above that with the Aston and AMG. I did this quite randomly and did very little if any setup outside of TC and ABS. I think that the knowledge I'm able to acquire by trying different cars; and the ways they handle around this particular track at night is just what the Dr ordered. Now to fix my SA rating so that I can use the Practice Server.
