I’m hoping that when we launch the WEC series that we’ll attract some GT specialists, we had some success when we did the TCR cup and Tommy, Kane, Stu and Dan were very supportive of that series but due to a number of factors we haven’t been able to keep those guys involved in the series we’ve run after the TCR. It seems that GT is the most popular class in the public lobbies and if we can tap into that interest then hopefully we can attract some more decent drivers. I feel sometimes that because of the nature of our racing most people can’t commit to the more detailed motorsport that we enjoy, I’m not for one minute suggesting that we change anything here but it’s clearly a factor in our small but highly skilled drivers I was just thinking about this... The type of people that we want to attract are people that are keen to do longer races. Is it possible to set all our races in open lobbies then?, or is it too distracting with people joining the lobby and leaving it all the time? My thinking is that people will only join a long race lobby if they are interested in long races, no? I think those details are displayed in the lobby list. This may lead to people joining our league if they see we have long races and are interested in doing those. I understand it can get distracting with people joining and leaving the lobby all the time, but as long as it doesn't cause technical issues with the lobby it might draw some new guys to the league. It seems kinda counter productive to do an open lobby race at a different distance and different day than we normally race. We're looking for people who want to race long distances on a specific day and time, so that's when the open lobby races to attract those drivers should be run. I think that’s a valid point Karl, if our people can handle the distraction of the drivers joining and leavings, I do find that kind of thing distracting but if we can recruit some more quality people then I’ll suck it up, what does concern me slightly are the people that join lobbies just to mess about and cause disruption.

Just had an open lobby for our Le Mans settings, but 20 min practice, 15 and 15 Q and Race. People came in quickly and had 6 race to the finish. A couple were pretty damn fast. I sent them invites and pointed them towards my Bio that has links to this forum. We could start having huge multiclass grids by summertime or earlier. That would kick ass!

Official league races need to be locked IMHO. If one random person doesn't something to ruin a league driver's race, that would be horrible.
I think you'll be surprised how many people drive full length races, aside from 24 Hr/endurance.
The key is attracting initial racers with 15 to 20 minute races. It isnt the 3 to 5 lap stuff out there, so guys that like those wont join anyway. The people joining 15 to 20 min and finishing can handle the longer races no problem.
If we advertise "come join us once a week for 100%," that's not super attractive. People want people they can drive with often with some league races throughout the year/season.

Ok Dave, pick a livery and let us know here 😉 Dave, do you have a list of the chosen cars? I’m attempting to pick a team car for myself and Dan. Shell #17 and #18?? If not then Brun #5, Brun #16 free?

JMHO 15-20 minutes is far removed from the 2 hours+ our races tend to run. I think the Touring Car series showed that there are people out there happy to do the shorter 20 minutes or so sprint style stuff but less enthusiastic to commit to over 2 hours for a single race. Don't forget we haven't been promoting just one series but all three that have been run here for the past couple of years with the Vintage one running midweek and lasting approx 1 and a half hours including quali. I think it's a good idea for those of you that have the time available to try those lobbies and see what it brings. I struggle to get the time to practice for our races already so it's not something I can do very often unfortunately but I'll certainly join in when I can. One concern I have though is managing the people joining our races from the various platforms. It seems most are reluctant to come here to sign up so it's creates a bit of an organisational mess which can lead to problems and confusion at race time.

We'll have to make sure in future that only sign-up information is posted on the sign-up thread and any chat is in a seperate pre-race chat thread. It's a nightmare searching through all these pages trying to find the actual signup information 🙄

Yeah as I’ve recently noticed we can pick either one of the variants for manufacturer. I’m just chatting with Dan....we’ve had little time to try the cars out so it’ll be down to what livery we prefer haha.

That's why I'm trying to find them actually in the game. Just basing this on 20 years of squads and teams that still talk to each other. For it to build though, members have to actually play in open lobbies when they can.

Looking forward to getting on even thou I don’t expect to be competitive I’m gonna use it as a more get my eye back in the rig.
I’m well Up for some more series if there slightly less powerful green gt3 or lower reason I didn’t carry on after the amazing tcr event was the jump in car was too daunting I’ve always been more of a fan of slower cars as found it closed the packs. Hoping I’m not a complete waste of space when I drive the car

Totally. Most of us here have been racing together for 5 or more years already and myself, Karl and Boothy are closing in on 10 if my memory serves me correctly. I am hoping that there will still be a hardcore of us forming up on some grid in 10 years time lol.
I think with regard to the lobby if a set day and time can be arranged and publicised here on the forum there will be a better chance of more here turning up.
I'll set up as thread for that

In all seriousness, what I'm trying to convey is the blueprint is out there. We don't have people on top of all the leaderboards, but that's not a big deal.
If people join a team/community, they want people to race with. If we never race and just do an signup for a race here and a race there, it is hard to grow it.
If we are active, then they will come. Not everyone can be on all the time and that's not what I mean. But if we all represent a Brand and it is visible when we *are* online and racing, then that's how to build it.
Hope that makes sense. There are some great people here and some great racing. But people aren't going to know about it unless we are out racing with them.

Mixer/Twitch.. does it stress your connection? Yeah, everything game side stays fine but it would lag my Sim Dashboard app on my phone which I use as my second screen.
