Sorry fella's but I'm uncertain for this at the moment i'm afraid. I have had no practice at all and haven't been back in the car since Indy. To be honest I am struggling to get my head back into any racing at all at the moment and can't seem to find the time to get back into the swing since my vacation. Way too much going on family wise and at work . I did forced myself to race in Hurts Abarth series on Saturday which I usually really enjoy and thought that would get me back into the mood but it did not go well I need plenty of practice laps to get myself up to any sort of speed and it just ain't happening right now. I'll try to get some laps in tonight and make a decision after that. I'll put myself as a maybe for now along with Karl. I'll continue to update the site and keep on top of things here though regardless. Well I hope your back racing soon mate. I second that! I've been feeling the same way lately. I gotta get some practice in tonight for tmrw, I have maybe 30 laps here total lol. Thanks for posting your setups Rich! I need your Oval setups and it helps me out a lot. I'll have to figure out how to do that for my F1 League

In #2 Penske Chevy Don’t forget boys that this is a night race, Start time 1900 in game time Amendment 2000 hrs in game start time Sorry I didn't pick up on this earlier. Shouldn't that be 19:00 As indicated in your previous post? Just checked the rules thread and that's the time it states there?

Managed to get in my first practice tonight, just a short session to get some track familiarity and done idea of tyre wear, etc. but it's got me feeling more positive about racing again. I'll move my attendance to In as a result.
Right side tyre temps are tough to control here, especially the front but itlooks like they should still last a full fuel stint but not with much margin. Would like to work on a setup to get that better but I'll settle for it with such little practice.
What's the general lap times being achieved here so far? I've just managed to get down into the 23's in private testing which is better than I managed in Time Trial mode.

How are you guys managing with the engine wear? I found that it was quite high last night. I played around with the gearing, radiator and boost settings but it seemed impossible to reduce it without massively compromising the lap times. Repairing during the pit stops will probably be necessary but I'd like to keep it as real as possible personally and they don't make engine repairs in the real world pit stops as far as I'm aware.

After checking the Indycar website it turns out that the Texas race starts at 1945, so as I want to keep as close to the real World Series I’d like to propose that we start the race at that time, so practice at 1800, quali at 1900 and race at 2000, any objections just let me know 🙂

Not sure I’m fast enough to damage the engine 😂😂

In race practice I’m running high 24’s to low 25’s, I’ve got a half decent setup which keeps the tyres in the correct operating window so I hope to stay out of the pits and try and have a decent race tonight

Yeah I'm in the mid to high 24's on a full tank of fuel coming down too low 24's as high 23's as the fuel level drops. Although the tyre temps get hot on the right side it doesn't seem to effect the performance too much, at least in my brief practice it didn't.

Texas is a tough little track and really isn’t like IMS or Daytona in largely being flat and lift it takes a lot more effort to get it right.

Low to mid 24’s for me probably got a 23 in there if I really push it. The engine wear is much reduced with the 20:00 start time as it only get cooler so the later stints actually have less damage. Same with tyres. As per real world engine repairs, no not as such BUT unlike F1 they will put a car behind the wall to change things if they think points are still available. One year at Sonoma the Lotus team replaced the throttle cable on pit road that was on the old car before the DW12. At Road America Penske had Powers car in bits with the Chevrolet techs looking at an engine issue after he had a “No Power” Alonso moment at the start so they will do stuff if they have to and it’s worth while.
