Another great race in the books gents, quite a lot went on and it should make for a good replay vid!
I thought I was going to have a panic attack just trying to keep the damn thing on the road; heart thumping out of my chest lol
Very unfortunate for Rich and Youtube. Because of that, I was very lucky to come home with my 5th podium finish in a row. It doesn't feel like I earned it, especially when there's problems with connections and when not all of us can make it to every race :/
I'm still ecstatic over another good finish though, I almost thought I had the win when Micko and Karl said they might have to pit for fuel in the last 3 minutes!
Congratulations again Michael! You were a ghost on the track, I think I maybe saw you at the start of the race and that's it!

As Tyler said, another fabulously entertaining race fellas, congratulations to Micko for his win and we’ll done to you all for your continued support in our series. After some testing in the week leading up to the race I found a good setup and was quietly confident of a fairly good result after some disappointing races. I qualified in P5 after a Pitlane speeding penalty and on the opening lap I took advantage of the first corner shunt and found myself in P2 on Richards gearbox, after the Safety Car period got the temps back up and tried to hunt down Rich, after 1 or 2 laps he had a technical issue and I inherited the lead, running at a good consistent pace whilst trying to keep a comfortable gap back to Karl in P2, all was going well and I was feeling confident of my 1st win in this series, I pitted with just over half the race left to run, hoping to squeeze every last drop of fuel to make to to the chequered flag, but as Karl and Tyler were threatening to catch me I had to pit once more for a quick Splash and Dash and leaving the pits found myself in P5, after the last few laps I couldn’t claw back any of the positions I had lost. But all in all a fantastic race just not the result I’d hoped for.

First I’d like to say well done to Micko on the win and Karl and Tyler for there podiums. I’m a bit gutted really yet again I seem to steal defeat from the jaws of victory (yes I know it happened early but it just leaves a nasty taste) I was so close to rage quitting but managed to not freak out to much and get back on it. After I’d pitted for my YouTube break I managed to get the gap between myself and P1 down to around 45/50 seconds just before I needed to box and the second safety car came out this put me about a minute off the leader which between other pitting and having to slow for fuel saving I got down to around 20 seconds for a 4th place so a bit of a save over all. Other than the above hash up it was another great nice of racing and I’m looking forward to the dry lagoon next race.

Thanks for the kind remarks......my first win in a while I really enjoyed this one. No sweat Peter (shneeb) it probably helped me overal as I had intended to pit on that lap and the safety car bunched up the field. Rich you were super fast and would have won by a mile without the YouTube incident, turn the bloody notifications off! I was pooping myself in the last 3 laps not knowing if I had enough fuel using short shifting and my remaining pass power boosts (does that use MORE fuel?) Was able to save this one so will put a vid together in the next few days.

What a race guys. Super fun times yesterday. Glad I could make it in the end. Rich and Dave were super quick. Tyler was a lot of fun to race with and was right on my pace. We were close all through the race, swapping positions when I'd make a little error. I had a tough time in the opening stint trying to find my pace but it came together after a while. After the second SC I didn't think id make it to the end without another stop as I had just stopped before the SC came out. I might have stopped during that SC but wasn't sure on the rules.... I stopped with 6 or 7 laps to go and under cut Tyler in the process giving me some clean air to try and undercut Dave as well who I could not get past. But Dave must have had an incident at his stop because he came out well back. Had a large gap to p1 and was making headway but ran outta laps. A solid strategic race win for Micko here. Well done.

Yeah that was a great battle Karl! I used most of my p2p during that.
Watching the replay, I don't blame Pete for the accident. I probably would have done the same thing, it didn't look like there was anyone around him when he backed up.
It was just bad luck really

Well done Micko on the maiden victory, I was expecting to see you have to come in on those closing laps so well done on stretching it out. I didn't get much chance to practice so was not really on the ball with the fuel usage here. Good job Karl and Tyler on the podiums too. Fantastic pole lap Rich, that was some time there, 2 seconds better than second place. I never expected to see that sort of time and knew after that it was just second place to fight for on the grid and I was happy to just to nip past Karl by a tenth and a half at the death lol. Another tough race for me, took the exact same rear suspension damage on both the original start and the restart after the yellow, the first one was negated by the caution but the second cost me dearly. I didn’t think it warranted a caution as it was just me and Pete but then one was called later for a two car incident so I think that needs some clarification. I thought it was only when several cars were impacted that the cautions were to be called otherwise I would have called it for that second incident too giving both me and Pete the chance to pit for repairs and stay close to the pack. I carried on for a few laps after that second incident as initially I thought I could manage it until the first stop and I was staying close to Tyler and Karl and with a decent gap to Greg behind. That soon changed though as the car started to be a real handful in the corners and I almost lost it through the Carousel at one point with the car going almost sideways half way around.. that was a shock lol. After that I quickly lost touch with the leaders and Greg closed on me in one lap so I decided to go for an early stop for repairs rather than risk any chance of losing it somewhere. A long stop saw me come out in 6th place around a minute and a half adrift of the leader. Although the repairs had been done I never got the car back to its original pace after the second incident, I only twice got into the 1:50’s whereas in my practice I was happily into the 49’s with some dips into the 48’s in race time so can only assume that the car retains some residual damage regardless of the repairs. I didn’t really got into any racing after those early laps so it wasn’t the most exciting race for me but I was still in the frame for a decent finish when the time for the final stop came around with me in 4th place. I really wanted to just take on fuel and tyres, maybe even leaving the tyres as I still had plenty of rubber left. I definitely would have opted to not do repairs as the engine was the only thing that was showing any damage and that only at a fairly low level so knowing that it has no impact on the performance I would have changed that. But having been burned at the last two races by on the fly pit stop adjustments I just left it at what I was set as default which ultimately cost me about 20 seconds and the chance to fight for the podium. I definitely need to find the time to experiment with the strategies to find out what works and what doesn’t for the future. Even changing the selected strategy gives me a cold chill lol. Anyway, good job all.. the car is masses of fun to drive and the tracks have been a perfect fit for it. Unfortunately I am away for Laguna and it’s my birthday weekend at the following Daytona race so I’m not sure I’ll be around for that one either as I am not yet sure of the plans for that weekend. I should hopefully make Sonoma for the finale though which should be fun with it's fast sweeping corners. Not sure about things going forward at the moment as I don’t like to be a part time competitor when it comes to league racing and missing half the season is not something I like to do but Saturdays are proving to be a bit hit and miss for me especially over the Summer months.
