We had a nice test session here just now instead of our Vintage F1 tonight. We only got around to doing about 25 laps but I feel like I have a good understanding of the car here. My best is a 1:50.86?... that's of course using P2P.
I like having a higher ride height on the right side (I raised both sides) for the kerbs but it seems to help me with the carousel part quite a bit (thanks KOOOORRRAAALLLLLLLL!!! for the advice). We were still trying to find a balance for areo but it seems lower is the way to go as I couldn't catch Karl. He was using something like 11 front/13 rear 😯
It's risky with the lower downforce, but if one were able to control it, they'd probably be the fastest!
Pete calculated that we would be safe to start with 60 liters of fuel and put in 60 liters for our stops (instead of a full tank at 70). Good ol' Road MuRka likes a little over 5 liters a lap. Question is, could we make it a 1 stopper using primes + the lean fuel mix? I'm going to be testing out the fuel mixes tonight yet and i'll let you guys know my findings.
I'm looking forward to Saturday and I think it'll be a great race!

I'll look forward to your fuel mix test Tyler as the jury is still out on whether that really has been fixed or not. If I get the chance I'll test it too so we'll get a good comparison between us. I know the last time I tested there was no difference but that was in the Oval car so maybe the fact that was running in the high gear for the lap negated any fuel saving as opposed to the road car where we are using a range of gears throughout the lap.I haven't driven the road car since COTA

Alright, I did a couple hours of testing just now, I think I'm almost happy with my setup.
Then, after testing the same setup with about 24 laps (around 12 each) on lean, then rich fuel mix, I don't think it's working correctly.
After 6 laps of lean I had a little over about 40 liters (40.2 or 40.3) after starting with 70. After 6 laps of rich mix 3 I had about 39.9 liters left. I was 4-5 seconds a lap slower around 1:55.3 on lean and maybe its how I drove the car the second time with mix 3, but I should've saved a little more than a half a liter over 6 laps on this long track? It could just be an extremely little amount you can save regardless. In the setup settings the rich fuel map is 1.00 and the lean is 0.75 or something like that so the math is about right.
After testing the start and the first couple of laps over and over again a couple times, it didn't seem like I was saving anything at all, I was basically losing fuel because of how much slower I was.
I was testing an offline (race only) with 8 AI (9 because we have 9 in our League) at 50/30 because you need to have at least 1 more person to start an online race without practice or quali.
One things for sure, that front left tyre needs tender loving care

One things for sure, that front left tyre needs tender loving care Ah that sucks Tyler.. I was sure they said it as fixed but you've just confirmed what I found at Texas. Pointless running anything other than Rich mix then which is a real shame as fuel saving is a BIG part of Indycar racing. I've not had any more track time since that short session the other night :/ Other stuff just getting in the way. And I am now missing another race which sucks especially as it's Laguna Seca which I love :/ I am unavailable for racing from the 4th August until the 11th.

One things for sure, that front left tyre needs tender loving care I will sometimes just do a quick 5 min Quali session to be able to run an online session with only AI. I''ll probably do that tonight. Last night i was testing offline because it's quicker to restart sessions and test setup changes that way.

Another thing I figured out, a higher ride height with a lower downforce isn't good for the carousel part, you lose too much traction.
I think it's better to go the lower ride height (looooowwwrider) and stay off the kerbs. With the front left you might wanna move the camber angle towards 0 (positive angle) to relieve some stress. You can loosen the springs a little but you lose just a little bit of traction, but you almost need to for the kerbs just in case. Talk about compromise!
