Alright, that all sounds good, i'll keep hosting for now unless we run into a problem.
I like the randomness of what the today weather is for the races but it would be cool to do the actual real 63 weather from each race too. It's just the rain we have to be worried about for certain tracks. If we keep it to light rain or just rain for those we might be okay.
For tomorrow, it's probably too late to go with the real 1963 weather so I think we should keep it as is for now as that's what everyone practiced.

I highly doubt this will affect anything but my 2 cats have a scheduled vet appointment at 1pm central/2pm EST before the race so in case i'm late that's why. I should be back with plenty of time to spare though.

I've had about a dozen laps tonight and that's all I'm gonna get before tomorrow. Fast lap of 2:18 but most of my laps were not clean.

I'm comfortable in about the 2:20s otherwise it gets too risky. Maybe near mid to end of the race i'll get down there but if I push it's much easier to spin out.

2:18's are good Karl... I haven't been back on track but am hoping I can match my earlier practice and get around the low 2:16 mark in quali, with a good lap 2:15 is definitely doable. But in the race discretion is definitely the best way to go and I won't be pushing too much especially to start with. I remember having high hopes of the race the last time we were here and look what happened there lol

Well, I'll for sure be on time today as apparently there was an electrical fire at the vet Monday and they're temporarily closed!!! What did you have for the weather this morning Peter? It was Cloud cover in Rouen for me so I put Overcast as our weather tonight.

Managed to be worse then last week
Q:3 R: DNF lap 2
Got decent start overtook Tyler who ran wide down the hide Got along side peter on the long straight braked in usual spot broke suspension so pitted Went back down the hill braked earlier for the hairpin and it just cruised straight into the haybales and off the front 2 tyres came.

Did not know that me exiting prevented another from saving. It's all good man, no worries! I've got some decent action from just my phone's recording of the race so we should be good for the replay. Especially because it's going to be the Scottish, French, and next week's British GP footage all in one video. At least we know that you're our new designated lobby leader! It was the most stable connection we've had yet (besides the invisible hay bails).

We should have another good one next week at Silverstone, you beat me last season in the 49 and you were about a second a lap faster too. I'm looking forward to the rematch!

Congrats again Tyler. Your pace and ability to keep it clean are amazing. I pulled my usual lap 1 fuck up and pit at the end of the lap. At the end of lap 2 or 3 Rob came out of the pits right when I was coming by and I had to take a dangerous late entry to turn 1 but held it together. It was totally clean but pretty hairy on my end. It's too bad the replay didn't save, I would loved to have seen that from the trackside or Rob's view. Then after Peters 1st pit he came out right in front of me. I tried to push too much to keep up with him and spun in "Karls Korner" at the top of the hill, taking damage again. In my 2nd pit stop both Tyler and Karl went past putting me a lap down. It was pretty lonely from then on until Karl had late race issues. If there were 1 more straight and 1 more corner I could have had 2nd place. Great race again. Love this series. It's a shame we don't have 3 or 4 more regulars.

There's nothing like drama near the end of the race to make it a little more exciting.

Thanks Pete.. I think it was just a bit of confusion when I came round to lap you tbh. I mentioned on the comms that I was approaching and when you went deep into the hairpin I thought it was to allow me through so I took the tight inside line but then your car appeared on my left-side and there was contact sending me onto the grass on the right. There was no damage indicated on my HUD and you seemed to slow down just ahead on the left as I got away again so I went to go past again but found my car drifting across and I couldn't seem to steer away, as though I had major suspension damage and that's when there was contact again and my left wheel was torn off. No way I could struggle back to the pits so I just retired.
Absolutely gutted as I had great pace here so fully expected to be racing for the win even with my early 'now you see me, now you don't' hay bale incident that damaged my suspension and caused my early stop. That was another real annoyance :/
As things stand i'm finding online racing to be far too frustrating over the last couple of months and since COTA in the Indy league it's been one thing after another either spoiling my races or preventing me from racing so I am in a bit of a quandry with it all at the moment. I enjoy racing with you guys both here and in the Indy series but I am definitely finding it causing more angst than pleasure in recent times and I keep coming away from races questioning whether it is better concentrating on the offline side of the game for a while. I'll probably continue for a race or two longer to see if things turn around and re-evaluate from there.

Copy that on the "frustration" aspect ! I also had to re-evaluate what I wanted to do, because recently it's all frustration and not much fun, except for this group. I want to learn to get faster, so I thought I'd try to gain experience using Career, but pC2 has major issues in Career. I'm doing AC Career, and even though it works and is a challenge, it lacks a few features to make it truly enjoyable.
After months of analytical consideration, I had to just realize that XBox has been good to me for ease of use and finding out if one game or another is suitable for me or not, but lack the full capabilities in regards to the latest "racing games". So, I decided to keep the XBox for the games that fully work on it, and also get a PC for games that don't work so well on it and can offer a much broader experience in many ways on a PC. Hopefully less "frustration" and more "fun" being the main benefit.
So over the past four months I have actually become a computer nerd, and even though it's a lot to learn, I'm retired, so I really don't have any excuse not to bite the bullet and learn this shit. Thanks to You Tube, anything you want to know or learn can be found there, and it turns out that it's not actually that much of a PITA as it might seem. Then the fan in my freezer broke, so I found on YouTube how to fix that, and did it all myself for $57.00.
I'll just end this thread here on a happy note !
