Looking forward to this one... i've currently got SUNNY on all the weather forecasts i've checked for this area next Wednesday. Where are you picking yours up from Tyler?
Had my first practice last night, back to my previous method and used the default loose setup with a few tweaks to tyre pressures, brakes, steering ration, ride height and radiator and engine braking and the car felt decent. Just did the practice session for a race with AI with a best so far of 2:18. Wasn't pushing too much so plenty more to come from that (I hope) but a good benchmark for me for further tests over the next few days.
What AI level have you guys been going against for this series? I know for the 49 we had to dial the levels right down to get the right pace for the AI so I was doing the same here but they are already almost 5 seconds off my pace so definitely need to be dialed up quite a bit.

I'm just using Google for the weather. It did change from what I had on this post yesterday: Check out @tylerde16589154’s Tweet: 2:18 is a great time! I had put in 2:23s for my average time a couple months ago before the season started. I haven't gotten on track since Wednesday so I can't help with the AI part yet. I have completed the video but im waiting to add footage from the next couple of races

I'm sure your times will come tumbling down Tyler. We were pretty close at this track in the 49 in qualifying swapping first place several times I remember before the rain came and spoiled the race.
Hopefully this race will run smoothly with none of the problems that came to the fore last time

Had another run out last night. Started on pole and did the first half of a race. The opening lap was a 2:24 then I was between 2:16 and 2:18 for the rest. Gap to the AI at the halfway stage was over 40 seconds so need to up their level considerably next time.
This car needs total concentration. One slightly misplaced wheel and you are off track and picking up suspension damage which even at a low level makes the car very difficult to handle and prone to further incidents.
Anyone else had any time here yet?

Finally got in some practice.
You're right Peter, I'm pretty much exactly where you are after I fixed the final drive and gear ratios with a best of 2:17.8. I was really pushing though and I spun out a lot. I mean A LOT!!! It's risky to drive that fast for me so i'm comfortable around 2:19 at the moment!
The AI drove like they were drunk so I just shut them off completely lol.

Nice one Tyler. I haven't played with the gears yet so may find a bit more time through that. If I push I reckon 15 or perhaps 14 is there but for comfort I'd say around 17's.
I found the AI not too bad but they do tend to wander off track a bit lol. What level did you have yours at?

Not feeling good about this track. As soon as I think I got it, I end up pushing too hard and spinning or crashing. Best lap times so far are around the 2:22 time. I feel that my tune is good. My driving skills are not supporting me on this track.

I'm happy enough with where I am now, got a lot to practice this week socks other races so I will probably just have one more session before our race on Wednesday. Big thing for me is to not get too caught up in trying to push too much as that's when its very easy to make a small mistake that ends with damage.
Setup wise I haven't changed too much from default.

I had the AI set to about 80/40 to start and I started in first place. It started off decent but once I got to the Virage du nouveau Monde hairpin turn, I was taken out because of their superior breaking with track tyres.
I tried 80/0 next but couldn't even make it to turn 1 while holding onto a straight line before I was knocked into a tornado roll by one of the AI lol.
I said screw it to them after that and reminded myself that you guys don't do that whatsoever!

Not feeling good about this track. As soon as I think I got it, I end up pushing too hard and spinning or crashing. Best lap times so far are around the 2:22 time. I feel that my tune is good. My driving skills are not supporting me on this track. That's a good time to start off with. We'll most likely all be around the 2:20 - 2:22s during the race if it's like the last couple rounds. I'm using the middle of the 3 final drives and I raised the gears. Besides the gearing/radiator, I decreased the rear anti-roll bars and that's about it (stable setup).

I've got a couple things that I think are worth discussing:
1. In-game Date
Do we want to use the date of the actual race or the current date and season? We will run into problems during the winter months if we are running a Championship so I propose we stick to the actual Date which was June 30th, 1963.
2. Hosts
Nobody seemed to have issues last week with my connection, but I think it would still be good to alternate between hosts as long as we don't run into connection problems with certain hosts. It seems like it chooses the best connection regardless of the host but just to be sure I think we should alternate lobby leaders.
What are your thoughts guys?

Going with the real life date seems a good idea to me and we can use the actual race weather that way as well. Whether we do that straight away or just going forward is the issue really as I guess any practice so far would have been done for the actual conditions forecast rather than what it was in 63. I would suggest we stick with whoever seems to have been able to run a lobby without a problem. It worked fine last week with your connection Tyler so I would not be inclined to change anything from that unless we run into problems.

And if we use the actual weather from history we'll be able to practice that ahead of time.
I think with how smooth Scotland was we should stick with one host.
