Wait, are we running a race, or just testing? I thought we were just testing? I’m cool with either It's a test session basically but not sure of the exact format. I'm happy with anything as well, just be good to get some seat time back in the Doom-mobile

Either way i'll be doing long stints rather than quali tests. It’s only a pre-season test gents 🙂 what ever you want to do within the 90 mins is entirely up to you.

Maybe i need to have a run in the chevy and see the difference.... I guess it depends on a few seconds faster than what There was no great disparity between the manufacturers last season so I don't think you will find much difference. Setups need to be altered from that you use in the Honda though I think. Might try again myself just out of curiosity.

If you mean real world Pete their not really the same car as the one we use has the ‘16 manufacture aero kits and that’s where the difference is.

Yeah I was referring to the game and the performance of each. Couldn't remember there being any great difference between the two in pace terms but that there were differences in setup which is why you couldn't transfer one to the other.

There are 4 Chip Ganassi Racing cars ya know😉

That was a great session. I learnt a lot and the Chevys are definitely a new challenge. They've got more downforce like Nate said which I kept lowering and lowering as the 90 mins ticked by. I think i'll stick with it for the season.
I missed some of what you guys were saying near the end about doing something during or at the start of the races. I think I heard something about seperate Championships for Oval and Road?

Yeah good session guys. No mic tonight so couldn't join in the chat. Got some good data for this race for the start of the season but will look at that Chevy to see the difference between the two cars.
Pretty sure I can get sub one minute but think Nates time will take some matching.

Got some good data for this race for the start of the season but will look at that Chevy to see the difference between the two cars. Pretty sure I can get sub one minute but think Nates time will take some matching. I was wondering why you weren’t talking LOL. I think you can definitely get under one minute. I was watching your times progress. My steering wheel wouldn’t shift after the first 10 minutes or so. This track definitely presents a setup dilemma. You only really have one or two spots where you brake. But after turn three, you have to really feather the gas pedal and hit those apices. That hairpin type turn four feels like it takes forever. Really have to be patient on the power through there. The bumps on the track don’t help anything either. I had a lot of problems once the cones were knocked away. I realized I was relying a lot on the cones for my breaking point. In terms of car set up for this track, I’ve found high and low downforce works. In the practice session, I could run low 59‘s with a high downforce set up, and with a low downforce set up. What you may lose going through turn two with low downforce set up, you gain back on that long backstretch. The other thing is, you burn through those red tires like nothing! I think the race should be interesting. I know for me, I can get around pretty fast. But you hit a bump wrong through turn three or four, and it throws you right off the track. Sometimes it’s thrown me off, and I was on my perfect line I thought. My point being, unlike other tracks like Indianapolis, I don’t think it matters who the fastest is at this place! I think it’s anyone’s guess with this place! That’s why I think this will be exciting and fun. In an 85 lap race, I could see myself running off the track six or seven times ha ha. Fortunately when you get off just a little, you can usually steer right back on. Just ordered some Fanatec! Should be here this week!

Oh what did you get? I use Fanatec clubsport pedals, they are great. Did you get the damper kit too? Or the modifying thing or whatever? I got the V3 pedals, ClubSport 2.5 base, and the McLaren GT three wheel rim. Everything I’ve read says that stuff is awesome?

But the feel is so much better than the Thrustmaster. That GT3 wheel looks amazing and great that it's setup for Xbox
