LOL - nice video Tyler. I think i'm featured in a few of those spins...ugh. Q-6 R-6 Quali was a wash (pun intended). First lap was the quickest then the track was too wet to improve. Race start was poor, was P6 down to P9 before T4 i think. Settled in and started to get some good lap in. Was hunting down Joeri for a few laps before he went too deep into turn one. Then i had even more laps racing behind Tyler before he went too deep into turn 1 as well. Up to P5 at that point and was chasing down Neale and Micko when on lap 20 i had my first spin (of many) at the hairpin T6. Lost position to Tyler. Then, on the same lap just before the final corner i had another spin. Decided at that point to make my stop and try to regroup. I didn't change my tyres at the stop and that would be my biggest mistake. After rejoining the race i had some ok laps but started to struggle more with the old tyres and the fading light. I had another spin on lap 24 then a bigger one on lap 30. On lap 31 i had another spin and had to let Neale and Micko past before rejoining so lost a bit more time. (To think, like 10 laps ago i was chasing them down, and now they had lapped me, ugh). Was still in P9 and last at that point but others still had stops to make so i was hoping to capitalize on those a bit. As i was completing lap 31 Joeri was coming out of the pits and we were on the same lap. I was hoping to have a good race with him, but he changed his tyres in the stop and had way better pace than me. He pulled away as i continued to struggle. Lap 34 and another spin at the hairpin for me. lost more time the next lap as well when i spun at the Dunlop chicane and had to wait for Tyler to go past before rejoining. At that point Tyler was in P3, but one of the front runners was just entering the pits (Neale maybe?) as we went by and the leader Nate was just exiting the pits. I had to back off my pace so as not to become a factor in their race for P1. Sean was also hot on my tail who was fighting for the front spot as well as i struggled through the long right before the hairpin. When i reached the hairpin i was given the blue flags for Sean so i went wide and slowed to let him past through the next corner. Unfortunately he just followed me and took massive damage when we collided. You can see all that action in the video, just fast forward to about the 1h25min mark. After that incident i didn't really have anymore spins, but the tyres were terrible and i was tiptoeing around the circuit doing 52s and 53s. Tyler had an incident with someone (Chris?) and i regained position on them when they were in the pits to finish P6. Pretty much a race to forget for me. Some laps were fun, but not changing tyres killed my race i think. Video mixer.com/niblips2?vod=273161513

Thanks gents, here is the highlight vid I made, i'll be checking out micko's vid later that's for sure👍: lmao That's great, Tyler! Always love your videos. Surprised at how tough of a time the Ferraris had! A lot of them are hitting big puddles. Those aren't there in Light Rain, so I would guess they didn't have "Rain" practice. That was easy to miss. Curbs can be used, but never on the loaded side of the car. Rain driving is great practice, even for dry tracks. I've been "fortunate" in road racing courses for cars as well as bikes in that half of them have had unexpected rain. Without fail, instructors love it. It forces everyone to slow down and work on their technique.

I knew it wasn't malicious and am just glad I kept my cool and didn't fly off the handle. I'd followed several flags through that section, including the other Aston. There were still several hundred yards of being on the throttle there and when you let off in the middle of that section, it was completely unexpected. You're an experienced and fast driver and for anyone that is relatively new, you outright won F1. So being a blue flag isn't something you are used to, it was just one of those days. If we had to do that again, just keep going. I'm not going to do an aggressive overtake, nor would anyone in this group. Peter and I had an unfortunate mishap at Le Mans, with no contact. He got loose coming out of a turn and I had to either slam on my brakes, or go around. So I went around and that was unexpected for him and compounded him into a spin. It's always a learning experience for all of us in these races. Absolutely no hard feelings at all. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't shocked when you let off there, but that was a much more stressful race than usual. Cold tires, night time, rain, blue flags, and the hardest section of the track coming up.

I thought I was off the racing line before letting off. I was completely surprised by the contact as the apex of the corner was well to the right of me, which i assumed you'd be on. It was a very unfortunate incident that's for sure. Let's hope there are no more of those between us, i would hate to have to effect your race like that again.

The rain puddles really tightened the line on the whole track. It's tough in both positions. On one hand, if I say "just keep going" out of nowhere, that can startle the blue marker. Maybe as a general rule, we can just announce if we are going to do anything unexpected. This situation, though, was just a perfect storm. Pun intended, I think. I don't know.lmao Keep your head up about racing!
