I have been getting in some good practice for this one lol. Im in. Tyler Smith / Vdub4life92 / BRM #11 I'm secretly cheering for you and Greg to each win one, or some! We're not going to make it easy but keep up the great work and it'll happen. It'll feel really good when it does happen and will be worth the wait and effort.

It's looking like we're going to be pretty much back to normal numbers for this one. I haven't gotten in any time here yet but I know the track better than the back of my hand so I at least feel comfortable going into Wednesday's race. Karl's been on fire lately (or finally where he's supposed to be with the One X ), so i'm guessing Peter and him will be the ones to watch the win for.

Practice has been limited for me too. Tried last night and only got about a dozen laps in but it was a bit of a weird session with my wheel feeling very 👽 strange, too heavy and jerky as though the settings had been altered but they hadn't been when I checked. Very odd.
Neither myself or Karl are particularly comfortable here so it may be a damage limitation race for us. I just want a clean race as the last few have been pretty crappy with the last one still bugging me a lot and kind of putting me off commiting time to practice!!

I've not had many races around this circuit and usua;;y struggle here. Practice has not been going as great as the last couple races so i'm not sure where I'll be in the field here. Peter and i have gone back and forth a bit on setup but nothing really seems to change the car too much. One thing i do know, if you go wide off track you lose a lot of time so staying on the black stuff will be paramount.

I don't think i'll be making this one. I was already struggling to get into it and have only done a limited number of laps so was considering whether to drop out but have had a real stressful work day and am still working now.. completely knackered tbh and not sure i'll be awake come ten o'clock let alone ready to race. If I am able to i'll jump on but can't promise as things stand. The weekday races are not so easy for me any more with the current covid19 situation changing the way we all work over here so this may be my last chance to race and will try to make it if I can but if not have a good race.

I don't think anyone will hold it against you if you need valuable rest Pete. Always love racing with you, hope you can make it but definitely want you at your best as well so do take time for yourself when you need to.

Q: P6 R: P3 Excellent win Peter, I bet you're really glad you stayed up for this one and there'll BEE🐝 no wondering what could have been as well🤣. It puts you back in the lead for the title and now with 4 total wins this season. It would have been a little empty without you; all of you guys for that matter, so as always thank you all very much for your participation! Great performance and finish Tyler S, you had a competitive qualifying time and personal fastest lap that was on par with the rest of the group. Don't let us scare you when one of us is behind you, just concentrate on hitting your apexes and don't be afraid to block, we won't hit you like many randoms online will. We haven't seen any Senna swerving while making defending moves yet but it is certainly allowed in this series I couldn't match the qualifying times being posted and I was a little off the benchmark as well. I remember really having to push in my pre-season testing just to get into the 1:23s, it took me most of the race to get into a good groove and even get down to the 1:23s. I did sloppy job handling the car all night, I think I was too focused on trying to catch Team Lotus rather than relax and let the car do the work. I was still pleased with 3rd though and very happy with the event overall, especially with what happened last time. I'm looking forward to the GreenHell, it's been over a year since our last visit to the full Nürburgring which was in the Lotus 25:

I loved the Lotus 25 too Tyler. The Ring should be a great race, no matter whether you are fighting with someone or not it's a track that challenges you in every way and makes you concentrate so hard to just keep on the grey stuff 😁 Greg picked up the victory in that 25 race I'll post my recent report later... Should still be asleep lol

What a fantastic race last night. Poor starts are really dogging me, especially when my team mate starts alongside. Q-1 R-2 I was surprised to get into the 22s in quali. This car and circuit are so tricky and perfect laps seem to come from nowhere. The race was great except for my start. Peter and Greg got ahead. I followed them for a couple laps as greg was really putting pressure on Peter. Then on lap 3 after Greg had another try at getting Peter in Westfield Bend (Turn 6 i guess) he had to slow a bit. I caught up to him through Dingle Dell and just before he entered Sheen's corner (Turn 7) he clipped the grass with his back left tyre and wound up in the gravel. I caught up to PEter but didn't have enough overspeed through any part of the circuit to get past him. I was much quicker through Westfield Bend, but it was too dangerous to try and get by there. We have crashed as team mates in at least one previous race through my own doing and i didn't want it to happen again. So i followed, and followed and followed. Come mid race i thought the only way to get by might be to try and undercut him in the pits. I stopped at the end of Lap 21 for the mandatory stop and go pitstop that helps make this series interesting and had a random mechanical issue that took my crew 30 seconds to sort out. What would have been a 5 second stationary stop cost me an extra 25 seconds. I felt a little defeated rejoining the circuit in P5 but i hunkered down and tried to set some quick times knowing that at least 3 of the cars ahead still had to make a their stop. I was about 40 second behind Peter in P1 and had about 10 second up the road to Greg in P4. Peter made his stop immediately negating any chance of an undercut and when i passed the pits Tyler S. was making his stop, so i gained a position. It seemed Peter had a slightly longer stop than anticipated and came out straight behind Tyler D. who had taken over P1. And the gap to him was now down to 20 seconds. With 20 laps left in the race I immediately thought if i could gain a second a lap i would be able to catch up to P1 again and fight for the win. A few laps later (lap 26) Tyler D. stopped for his mandatory pit and when he rejoined i was right on his tail. I thought now would be a good chance to try and get by as his tyres would have cooled off a bit from the stop. At the Hairpin i closed up quickly, then through Surtees (Turn 4) I got a slightly better exit than him and had slightly more overspeed. Tyler made a move to block the inside just as i was deciding to go inside and i quickly had to adjust and go to the outside instead. I just about crapped myself, but no contact was made, and the overspeed was enough to get the move done before the next turn at Hawthorn Bend. Epic fun there. That meant i was up to P3, and about 16 seconds behind P1. A few laps later as i was closing in on Greg he dove for the pits moving me up to P2 but still 16 seconds to Peter ahead. I set some fast laps and an incident with a Bee in Peters helmet meant the gap closed up in the last few laps of the race and with 6 alps to go i had about 5 second time to catch up to Peter. Then with 2 laps to go the gap was 1.5 seconds. Through Westfield Bend and Sheene's corner i gained a second and was right on Peters tail going into the final turn where i nearly ran into the back of him. I had a nice run going down the main start/finish straight but at the last second decided Peter was likely to cover the apex at Turn 1 so i went wide and ended up sliding sideways through the turn losing all the momentum i had just built. I managed to make that time back up through the first half of the last lap of the race, and we were almost neck and neck going into Sheene's corner before i had to back of the attempt because i wasn't quite enough in front. That sealed the deal and we crossed the line still holding P1 and P2 with only 1.24 seconds between us. Epic. And a tonne of fun. Great Job Peter. A well deserved win after a dry spell for you. And another lesson to me to work on my starts. lol Great showing for the Tylers here and a nice close battle in the drivers standings now. I may just work on the GreenHell this week instead of jumping back in the GTE car. That circuit is a difficult beast and it's been so long since we've raced there that i forget 90% of the turns. video here: mixer.com/niblips2?vod=279640874

I watched that overtake that you made on me Karl, and that was a close one! It was expertly executed and you held your line through the corner, though risky because I could have went wide by accident, which then could have ruined both our races. But i'm glad we trust eachother enough on track that it was a clean move. My helmet is tipped off to you sir, well done Karl.

Well, what can I say. Really pleased I managed to stay awake long enough to make the grid. Qualifying This was a lot of fun and I was very happy to make my way into the 1:22's. I hadn't tried any low fuel laps so wasn't sure exactly what I could manage here. I did have a couple of laps where I was on target to slip under Karl's terrific time but both times lost a few tenths once at the tricky right-hander Sheene's and then at the final corner. But I was happy enough to take the second slot beside my team mate. Race I knew I had a shot at taking first place off the line following Karls struggles and my own pretty good starts. I got a great start and unfortunately for Karl he got a bit bogged down and I was able to comfortably slip ahead very quickly and take the lead. I was just concentrating on making my braking and turn-in points and not pushing too much as I knew how hard it would be to get a clear overtaking opportunity unless I made a mistake. I was particularly careful to get a good exit out of Surtees as I knew the run down Pilgrims Drop would be the best chance to make a move on me. Luckily I managed that pretty much every lap. Also the final turn I tended to have and advantage through the final turn and was able to pull away along the start finish straight. Karl was pretty much on my tail the whole of the first stint, rarely more than half a second adrift until he decided to try the undercut at the end of lap 21. Very disappointing for him to have that mechanical problem that meant I was able to take my stop and even with the unnecessary repairs my crew decided to make I came out well ahead although it did mean I came out just behind Tyler instead of in front as I had planned. I lost a bit of time over those next couple of laps but decided to just sit tight and not risk anything and once Tyler pitted was able to concentrate on just keeping the lap times steady without pushing too much. Karl was 18 seconds adrift at this point but putting in good laps times although the gap only dropped 5 seconds in the next 10 laps so as I started lap 37 all was comfortable inside the cockpit. I had noticed several laps earlier that there was something flying around the light in the room, I could see the shadows on the wall but assumed it was just a moth or fly. Lap 36 it buzzed around my head and then at the start of 37 I felt it land in my hair.. I tried to rush it away only for it to get stuck under my headphones and when I pulled it out realised it was a wasp and as I tried to flick it away I lost momentary control of the car and partly spun to the inside wall just before Graham Hill bend, Luckily I saved it before hitting the wall and was able ot regain the track and get going again but had lost 7 seconds and the gap was now down to just around 5 seconds. I never really regained my composure after that, aware that the angry wasp was still around although I still managed to keep my times in the 1:24's for the remainder of the race but Karl was on a mission and closed right back down on me. One mistake and he would have been through for sure so I was delighted to cross the line with the tiny gap of .126 between us. Great result for Team Lotus but a real boost for me following the previous races disaster. I am pretty sure that's the first time I have won four races in a season. I just hope I can compete in the rest of it. Great racing Karl and impressive stuff from both Tylers here. well done everyone on a solid nights racing. I really love this car

I noticed both you and Karl used 6/6 downforce. I was at 10/10. I can only conclude that 0/0 downforce is the way to go at Nürburgring then lol

I don't think the aero had a massive effect in these cars here. 6/6 just seemed to work well for this circuit. 0/0 at the Ring would be great for those long straights but not sure how it will be in the fast sweeping sections 😮
