Great fun racing tonight guys. Really enjoyed that, just a shame there were so many weird things going on. Getting fed up with these pit stop problems I seem to have so regularly. Losing all that time by fixing that engine killed my chances of holding onto 3rd place. No idea why it decides to do that when I never have my engine fixed in 'any' strategy. It's a pointless repair when engine damage has no effect on performance in this game.
But regardless tonight was a great success and should provide a lot of fun over however many races it involves 👌

But there were a lot of weird things going on with the pits etc. All of my pit screwups the past year have been me screwing them up. But your deal today was really bizarre, especially since we have the Pit mess ups turned Off. That sucks because you absolutely had the speed. It took me several laps to pass you late in the race. Q1 R1
That was a brutally tough race. Really hate it for Paulo and Byron with their wheels shutting off. That's extreme aggravating. Bryon was a late join and Paulo has the #12 fastest time in the world here, so that really sucks.
Qualifying was uneventful. We have 4 guys on the front 2 pages of the leaderboards and more with the pace.
I think every single one of us (?) had a drive through penalty. lol The pit exit at Daytona is brutal and if you even touch the line, which is nothing but a blind chicane, it gives you a warning.
My drive through came the 2nd lap as I guess I jumped the start. Really didn't think I did, but drove through and figured I had to be perfect to podium.
By the 2nd pit coming up, I had clawed back to 2nd and was still far behind Chris. So I changed my pit to fuel only and no engine damage fix and no tires. It paid off and I passed him when he hit the pits. My tires were going, but as the track warmed up, that helped a lot.
That was a tough race and I'm glad we got to race LMP1. Absolute monsters!

I'll post a race report thread in a few Unless it's different in the LMP series cars the engine has no effect until it reaches 100% at which point it explodes lol. Definitely Indycar and Vintage F1 with full damage you can go all the way to 99% with no performance impact. The engineer reports reduced performance at 30% but in reality there is no change in the cars pace or engine performance. If I have a bit of time at somr point i'll test it out. I did some testing of this some time ago and posted a video in the pCars forums showing how even at 99% I was able to set my fastest lap with no reduction in top speed or revs, etc. and then the engine exploded on the next lap lol

I think that's right. Where it really matters is if you get any damage in the front like when I blew my motor at Silverstone. If you have high engine damage and take damage up front, better notice it quickly and get to the pit. I went from 13 damage to blown in 1 sector lol

I went from 13 damage to blown in 1 sector lol Yes definitely, there are times in combination with other damage when the engine damage just sky rockets and ticks upwards like the seconds on a clock and that's the time you have to fix it, provided you get it back to the pits in time.

I loved it last night ! I love this cars !
It's a shame that too many drivers had troubles... some with theit wheels, some at pit stop.... note for those that had trouble at pit, I used to have my pit limiter set manualy but I had trouble with it... penalties or DQ.... so I went back to automatic and no problem so far... We know that PC 2 is a great game for cars and tracks but there are some bugs and it can kill it all....
Race report: Q2 R2
Qualy: My car felts very good. I work on the set up and I had a good feeling... for sure there was a bit of time to be found to challenge pole position but I am sure that Sean had some too... I was happy to start P2.
Race: That is where one of the problem with PC2 is... my car was quiet differente from Qualy and even from the practice session we had earlier which was in race condition... I discorvered it at the start at T1... the rear was very loose, with a massive exit oversteer as soon as I touched the throttle.... it took me 5 6 laps to get my driving around it and was P7 at that time... those that folowed me could see me side ways a lot on exit of slow corners.... no easy... I keept calm and was more carefull on my throttle application... Then I manage to slowly go up the field to finally take P1 after the first pit and keept this position for a while until the second pit. My strategy was only fuel at pit 1 as tyres wear was ok, but some engine damages make it longer. At pit 2, an other refuelling and I decided to change tyres and once again loose time for repair... I think I could have go all the way on the same set of tyres but I wanted to have fresh rubber for the last part as Sean was not far.... unfortunatly, the pit stop was too long and I have lost P1... I game back on track 8 sec behind P1... the gap was constent lap after lap and 5 laps from the end, I cut a little bit the track limit at turns 2 and 3 and ignore the warning as I knew that I had to lift a lot and was sure not to be able to catch P1... and I ended up with a drive through that completely kill my end of race... for the last few laps I pushed hard just to try to set the fastest lap... and I dit it...
Great fun to race with the group. Good atmosphere, good drivers and a lot of fun. The combo car/track was great and challenging. I loved it. Cheers

Cheers You were dominant all race with a 1.5 second different of Fastest Lap over the field. A shame you had that drive through! I noticed this track didn't mess around with Slow Down warnings. Some tracks allow you to push it, but this isn't one of them. Fortunately I think I only had 2 all day. You make a good point about pit Limiter. I turned mine off too. It does make me enter the pits too slow now, but I'd rather not risk it. My race was nearly lost when I smacked into Will when he got loose at the bus stop. Fortunately, I only had about 7 litres of fuel left and hit the pits early. I had about 20 damage on the front, so had to fix that and decided last second to not change tires. The cars and track were a blast! Nearly half the group hit the first two pages of the Leaderboard!

I guess I'll have to succumb and go with the auto pit-limiter although it goes against the grain for me. That didn't cause me any problems last night but it has in the past and it does cost me a bit of time in comparison to those on auto-pit as I double check that it's on before I leave my pit box.

Those cars are fun to race! Had a good first half of the race & was sitting pretty in 1st. Then all the troubles started. I went wide & lost time but still got told to slow down by the computer. I slowed down, lost 2 or 3 seconds but that wasn’t enough & i got a 3 sec penalty. Next time i went wide & it told me to slow down I thought “bollocks im not slowing just give me a 3sec penalty” It gave me a drive through penalty, & another & another! 6 drive throughs in total.
Well done Sean on the win & everyone else who finished. Looking forward to the next one

Each has their pros and cons for sure. The pit button makes it much easier to actually pit without speeding. Not having the button makes it easier to leave the pit. All of my pit fouls at that track were going outside the lines.

Last race at Dubai when most were getting multiple penalties you and I were the only ones with none until I got one on the penultimate corner of the final lap lol and again last night again you got none. Impressive. Is that due to your FoV do you think or just that you get off the power early as you indicated above. I found on those occasions when I got a warning I had to get off for what seemed like bloody ages!! But maybe I just left it too long so that makes it worse.

Q-4 (P3 start after penalties) R-3 Firstly I'd like to start by thanking Sean for his time and effort for getting this series off the ground, and putting together what will surely be a mixed result/fun series.
Starting P3 I knew having the inside line to T1 was going to be an advantage for me, so making the most of it I made my way to P2 following Sean, and managed to take the lead after his unfortunate DT,about 15-20 mins I unfortunately made contact with Byron after a silly mistake by me trying to shoot round the outside of T5, resulting in 10 front damage and 15 engine damage, after a bit of a limp back stint I decided to pit early to possibly try an undercut strategy. The rest of the race was smooth sailing (apart from the cutting penalties), and managed to work my way back up to P3, thanks to the gremlins that decided to attack Pete's engine bay. Not a way you really wanna get a podium by, but hopefully Mugello gets us some great penalties-less racing. ✌️

Really pleased with my form last night after so little time with this car and track. Qualified in 5th place with a 1:27.374 just 0.032 ahead of Will. More than happy with that.
Race start I made sure to avoid the incidents into turn 1 although it did mean I lost a couple of places and dropped to 7th as we got around the first couple of turns but then was up to 5th when a couple of other cars went off at turn 3. That soon became 4th when Sean had to take his drive through and then had a good run at Zay into the bus stop on the 2nd or 3rd lap and moved up to 3rd place chasing Will and Nate. I was close to Will for a number of laps but then it was getting a bit tight and I dropped back slightly for a few laps before making another run on them and then on lap 11 Nate had a bit of a coming together with Winter I think and myself and Will got past.
I had a some close racing with Will for a while until Chris caught us up and get past bot of us in quick succession. I got past Will around lap 19 and then when Chris pitted moved up into first place for a few laps until I pitted for the first time. I just took on fuel and rejoined in second place until Sean closed on me and after holding him off for a short while went a bit too deep into turn 3 or 5 and he was through. My pace dropped at this point by about a second to a second and a half but with a big gap behind I was confident of holding onto 3rd place providing I didn't bin it. I had a nice 45 second gap to Nate and he also had 12 seconds of penalties so pretty much a minute to the good at that point before I opted to stop early to take on fresh rubber and enough fuel to the end.
That's when my podium hopes disappeared. An extra 30 seconds at my stop to fix engine damage that I never fix in my pit strategy's and then two successive drive thru's meant I came out a minute adrift of Nate and a lap down on Oxy. I got my head down and found some pace again and my gap to Nate stayed pretty much the same for the rest of the race but once Oxy pitted I then had a target as he was just about 10 seconds ahead of me with around 20 minutes remaining. I was pulling faster laps and pulled that gap down to under 3 seconds with a handful of laps left and then he went in too deep into the tight turn 6 onto the oval and ended up in the tyres and I swept underneath to take the spot. I had done that several times in my brief practices so know how easy it is to do!! Just had to hold it all together from that point on and take the flag for a very pleasing 4th place.
Really enjoyable nights racing and hope we can have some more of the same with the next combination.

You had an incredible race, specially considering so little time in those cars. Cannot believe you got screwed by the pit crew! That's what we were trying to avoid by turning pit errors OFF. Still a nice midfield finish. So many people finishing such a long race with full damage is pretty cool, too. That doesn't happen at this track in the real world.lol

An extra 30 seconds at my stop to fix engine damage that I never fix in my pit strategy's Found the culprit on Lap 30 when you went to adjust the fuel in your pit strategy. You went down to Damage and adjusted it to "Mech" just as you were hitting the back straight!
