FINAL ROUND UNITED STATES GRANDPRIX @ Watkins Glen GP (No innerloop chicane) 34 Laps Benchmark - 1:45.000
5:00pm EST/10:00pm UK Time
In-game date: October 8th, 1972
Weather Forecast: 4 SLOTS Light Clouds/ Medium Clouds/ Heavy Clouds/ Light Rain
SPECIAL RULES:
So the circuit is closer to how it was in 1972, we will not be using the innerloop bus stop chicane. However, there are barriers on the track in Project Cars 2. Luckily, they can be removed in each session.
After the race start, stay in formation and the leaders will slow down, almost to a stop on the back straight and begin carefully removing the signs from the track, you can take damage from them if you're going too fast. The drivers behind must clear away what the leaders miss.
From here, at a slow pace stay in formation and reform at the starting grid and wait for the pole sitter to call the green flag. Pole is on the right. There will be 5 mintues added on to qualifying and 1 lap added to the race due to these circumstances. Here is a past video of the start, it's the short Watkins without the boot but the procedure is the same. The race starts at about the 8:30 - 10 min mark:

Gonna do the same as the last couple and say in tentatively. Schedules seem to be settling down so I should make it no problem.

Just confirming that I'll be in for Wednesday night. Now to get the long beach race taken care of, even though i requested all the days for that league's races off months ago...

Wait. I just realized this is on Canada Day. I can not make it. I wont be home. Any chance we can move it to the following Wednesday?

Yes I'm cool with that. The following week should be easier for be to make anyway. This week will be a tough one as i've got a big meeting at 2pm Wednesday and will have a lot to deal with afterwards.

Works for me, the more the merrier. Gives me some more time to focus on long beach too now that scheduling at work is set and i know I'll make it. If any of you guys wanna squeeze in some practice instead on Wednesday around the same time let me know, it'd be nice to get to practice around some actual people for once lol

Hey guys, just wanted to give a heads up before tonight; ive been having issues with my old hotspot all day so I'm not sure if I'll make it in or not. Should be just fine, I think I've got it under control now but I just wanted to let you know in case I'm a no show

I've moved myself to a maybe now as I have managed to get a major piece of work under control the past few days so hopefully this will start to ease my workload a little for a few days.
I had a test last night and think I have solved my engine starting problem but things are still feeling a bit off and I am struggling with any sort of consistency and the few laps I did in the wet were pretty awful. Still feels like something is off with my game/wheel/pedals but I just don't have the time to do a fresh install. I will definitely do my best to at least get on the grid for the start of this season finale.
I have seen the next season schedule Tyler and will comment on it later on once I have had some time to eat and chill for a bit.

Q - 4th R - 4th
That was a fun one for sure! Probably would've had a podium had i not done what i did leaving the pits but still a good one for not having any practice time at all in this car. On the start I nibbled the wall in t2 and got a bit of damage to the left rear suspension, it was less than 20% and the car felt fine i didn't notice it until about 5 laps in when I spun the first time. Other than that and a couple spins on my own iy was just me trying to make time on the top 3. Right when i finally started to feel 3rd in the rain came. Pitted in, took off and tried to get extra heat into the tires with a burnout (that's sort of a lie, just wanted to be a cool guy) and hit the wall, destroyed my front end. Greg had his mistake and i thought i may have been able to catch him but there just wasn't enough time left. Had i not done what i did I would have definitely had 3rd but oh well.
Just wanted to thank all you guys for letting me tag along for the last handful of races, I had an absolute blast driving this car and running with you guys for the little bit of time I was there and I'm really looking forward to the next season and hopefully running the whole thing this time!

Q: P5 R: P2
Good season and nice job to everyone last night for bringing it home as well. I was really hoping that you'd get that win Greg, sorry that it didn't work out but that rain made things interesting for everyone and I hope you all had fun none the less. I kept getting slower and slower as more water accumulated on the circuit and was like 20 seconds off my dry pace by the end.
That was the perfect time for Karl to strike as our Brabhams just couldn't keep their grip in the wet. I was still in the boot section of the track in 2nd when Karl crossed the finish line at the end as that's how much of a gap he made in the last 10 laps.
It's good that you were able to at least finish despite all of the wheel issues you've been struggling with in PCars2 lately Peter. It's tough to keep going as we watch others move to PC and more realistic simulators as of late. I would like to be there as well because I am going for the most realistic and best experience possible but i'm not sure where to even begin let alone save the money up for. Is there even a community as good as this one on PC? 🤨
I'm glad that you could be here with us and enjoyed the races you took part in Ian and Tyler, you are both great and fair competitors and I look forward to hopefully racing with you guys again. I know i'll see you for our Indy races Ian and hopefully Tyler sticks around for the '77 season later this summer/early fall. I still haven't even begun running laps in the Lotus 78 😬. I do know it's probably my favorite F1 car in Project Cars 2, it's fast and fun. Karl will feel right at home seeing as he did wonders with the 72D.
