Q: P11 R: P3
Let's go Chip Ganassi, that's a win and a podium for the Indy 500๐ป. I think that's my best finish this season so far and also way to go Dan for the winning drive! It wouldn't have been possible if not for the crazy amount of effort you guys are putting in, special thanks to Dave for his awesome oval setups.๐ป You'll get a win soon enough Dave, I can feel it. Keep up the effort. It was nice to see Pete finish up front too as he's had some difficult races this season as well as several of us have. Also nice to see Karl near the back ๐คฃ๐คฃ no offense.
Well done and thank you to everyone who participated, that was a tough and very long race, it was nerve wracking almost the entire 2 ยน/2 hours that we spent out on the track. The pitstops made it worse because apparently the limit was and has always been 37mph or 59kmh in this game at the Indianapolis oval. I thought almost double the speed was aloud. I was shanked first with a 10 second penalty followed by a 40 second penalty for speeding in the pits until I figured it out lol. In the end it probably wouldn't have mattered anyway as I took damage after making contact with a back marker and had to make an extra stop for repairs. It wasn't easy keeping the car under control while in the draft but most everyone did a good job with wheel to wheel racing and blue flag conditions.
I was a lap down and with a 50 second penalty by the end but still finished in a solid 3RD and had a great time racing at the Indianapolis oval, probably the first time i've actually enjoyed racing there against real drivers. We just haven't had the numbers until now. I hope it stays this way for the second half of the season and for one of my favorites up next, The Glen.
Cheers gents,
Tyleeerrrrr๐

Q 2 R DNF
Qualifying was pretty good for the #9 Target car and I was optimistic after finding a good tow (thanks Pete ๐) and beating my PB to take second a mere .14 tenths behind Adam.
Didnโt get the greatest of starts in the race and that very tall 1st gear made the car sluggish and reluctant to pick up speed at the green flag but I soon recovered and settled into the 1st stint in P3 2 seconds behind Adam and Dan with Karl and Pete putting pressure on me from behind, the car began to come to life and I managed to chip away at the gap to the front 2 whilst battling with Pete and Karl with some awesome overtaking and respectful racing. The car was getting quicker as the stint went in and I was slowly closing in on Adam and Dan who were battling when my race began to unravel. I saw Harry (SwordStone7) high in T4 I decided to go underneath him but he came across the track and I couldnโt avoid the collision which seriously damaged the car, fortunately I was right by the pit entry and boxed for a long pit stop, after 2 minutes I rejoined the race about 3 laps off the lead lap but I soon got back into my rhythm and gained 1 or 2 places back, as I was drafting with Pete I got a little too close in T2 and we touched wheels which threw the 9 car up in the air and landing on the roll hoop ending my race, it was a rather a disappointment after all the promise weโd shown in the testing.
But every cloud, a massive congratulations to Dan for winning the Indy 500, a very measured and calculated drive to take a dominating win, well done Pete for your P2 and Tyler, great drive and I really enjoyed being your Race Engineer.
Well done to all those that finished, itโs a very tough race and quite an achievement to race such a long distance and thanks to all our guest drivers and we hope youโll do a few more events with us this season.
The Teams Championship is very tight after this race and Iโm looking forward to Watkins as itโs my favorite Indycar circuit.
Until next time Friends.
Dave

Q P1 R P5
I went out right away in qualifying and on my first lap I didn't push and just tried to put more heat into the tyres but at the end the lap I got into Dave's slip stream and started pushing. I put in a couple fast laps but fell back a bit because I was getting very close to Dave then put in a 38.3 which I'm extremely happy with and was .3 faster than my previous PB.
I was able to get a good start in the race but Dan very quickly reeled me in and started putting pressure trying to get by. It was pretty obvious he was faster than me but I defended hard and forced him to try and pass me around the outside going into turns 1 and 3. After quite a few laps of this Dan put it all together and got an incredible exit out of 4 and passed me around the outside into turn 1 which was a great pass. I then settled into his slip stream and stayed within a second of him but I looked down and my front right almost completely done. In all of my tests I had never had an issue with tyre wear so I was very confused and wasn't sure how much longer I could go. I ended up pitting a few laps earlier than I had planned to avoid having any issues and had a pit stop error which cost me about 20 seconds and after everyone's first stop I was 23 seconds behind Dan and put any thoughts of a win out of my head and concentrated on putting in good laps to try and stay on the podium. Towards the end of the second stint Tyler was catching me at a good rate but I had to pit before he could get close enough to try and pass. I put in a good in and out lap and after our stops I was about 3 seconds ahead of him. About halfway through the stint he started catching me again and was within a second so I was preparing to defend against Tyler the same I had Dan but coming out of 2 I got a huge lag spike and once everything went back to normal my front wing was destroyed and I had damage on my front suspension and had to pit. Needless to stay I was pretty upset to lose a shot at a podium due an issue out of my control but I also got a podium last race from a similar issue so it evens out in the end. After this I was in 4th a few laps behind the top 3 so just wanted to salvage what I could. I decided to go piss during a pit stop and when I got back my car had obviously been sitting in the pit box and I don't know if I just carried too much speed or my tyre temp had dropped but I dipped my right tyres on the grass on the end of the warm up lane and had a spin and a huge impact with the wall again destroying my front wing and about 62 damage on my front right suspension. After a very very long stop I came out in 6th and didn't know how many stops Patty and Ian in front of me had left so I just put my head down and tried to go as fast as possible. I again had another pit issue, this time a dead battery which cost me a huge chunk of time in one of my last stops but I ended up about 1.5 seconds behind Ian in 4th for a 5th place finish.
Overall not too happy with my race but these things happen and it could have gone worse. Huge congratulation to Dan on his win, it was a great drive and well earned. Also congrats to Pete and Tyler for finishing on the podium and great job to everyone else for finishing the race it was a long hard race.

You disappeared on my screen after you started scraping the wall and for a second I thought that it was me who lost their connection. I know the feeling all too well and luckily the spike wasn't enough to disconnect you completely from the lobby. That was a great battle up until that point though Adam, good racing. Btw, how did the race broadcast go and whose Twitch account streamed it?

Q - 5th R - 4th
Man, I thought texas was brutal... That's probably up there in the running for longest stints I've done in any sim race.
I spent a metric shitload of time figuring out this setup and getting it to have any sort of speed whatsoever. I ended up with an absolute bullet on it's own, in my practices I was tickling 37's with a tow, the pace was incredible! But, stability in dirty air just wasn't there. Only thing that seemed to help was more wing which killed top speed so I gave up on it and decided to take m y chances with what i had.
The game did exactly what it had done in my practices and ran fine in qually but slower in the race for some reason, but i think that was going on for the lot of us so no harm no foul there - just PC2 being PC2. Each time I managed to knick a tow from someone the dirty air or a mistake on my part killed my shit so my 5th came from single car runs, but a 38.7 is still respectable so I took it. Race started, everyone seemed to make it through well enough and I settled into 4th or 5th... For about 5 laps. Had a bad line into 4, had to turn back down the hill some to try and not scrape the wall, got loose as the car unloaded off the corner and it snapped HARD. About broke my wrist... Glad I decided to run my sparco rim and not the open-wheeler style one I made or it would've hurt. Fixed the damage and went back to plugging away. Car felt slow but I was eating the cars in front of me alive until I got into dirty air and no matter what I did to try and fix it - adjusting my line, playing with the roll bars as I'd close in on someone, even the tire pressure adjustment I had in my strategy - did nothing for it. I'd get close, have a big run on entry, lose the nose and then the tail trying to get the nose back. I was worried about wrecking someone while trying to pass so i tried to just ride around behind someone once I caught up until I could ask for a wave by out of fear of causing an incident, kinda wish I hadn't as i may have been able to fight for a podium but oh well.
I had 4th locked down and may have been able to get to tyler for 3rd but with about 25 - 30 to go I pushed wide and smacked the wall in 2 and got a ton of damage. Me, Adam and Patty were all on the same lap and I managed to catch Patty and was reeling Adam in as he pitted. When I went in for damage the dumbasses didnt change my tires so I had to go in one more time to get an extra 15L of fuel for safety and tires. I ran as hard as I could before that last stop to close the gap to Adam and ran faster through the entry lane than i had all week and managed to come out around 7 or 8 seconds ahead. He had a tow from tyler and was catching me there, and due to the strange fuel load my balance wasn't quite right so I was just hanging on best i could. In the end i managed 4th just 1.5 seconds ahead and I couldn't have been happier with that.
Overall an excellent race between everyone, a big test of endurance for all of us, even those who didn't make the end. Adam, you had me sweatin' that last 15 laps mate; I didn't think I'd be able to hold you off seeing as you had a tow and because of how i was driving. Great finish for sure! And congrats to Dan, Pete and Tyler for the win and podium finishes respectively. Wish i could've been able to fight for the win as i know I had the pace to keep up, just struggled mightily in dirty air. On to my "home race", last time we had an official event here it was my first race in WEC with you guys and I stole a pole position, I'm excited for this one!

That's about what I saw too. I was right behind you guys when it happened; looked like your car just pinged from right to left, almost instantaneously. One second your car was in the wall, the next it was in the infield and it bounced back and forth once or twice like that and then you popped back in down in the grass. I'm glad it didn't cause you to lose your connection completely, though. That would've sucked. A huge bummer though because you had great pace, it was looking like you were gonna Alexander Rossi us again just like at Texas! Lol way to stick it out though, mate ๐

Q8 R7
Quali - 2 position drop for speeding in the pit lane. Tried to orchestrate some drafting for my team mate but it didn't go well. Race - All i can do is apologize to my team mate for miss setting my pit stop strategy tyre pressures. I screwed up the right front pressure and it was 0.30BAR too soft. That pretty much sealed my fate. I did manage to get fastest lap in the first stint with the correct pressures. Just wish i could have done the whole race on them....

Yeah thanks for sticking the race out gents.๐๐ป Look at the bright side Karl, at least you finished higher than what you started the race on. And Ian, you're improving every race despite having quite a bit of trouble with spins. You're really getting much more consistent and it shows with your finishes. You have the vanilla Xbox One (S) and not the Xbox One X correct?

Q- 7th (started 6th) R- 6th (i think lol) Started well, had a great start and made up a few possies. Then gradually fell back due to dirty air giving me the sh#ts but didnt mind....it's a long race and anything can happen. Had a good first stop and just as i got back up to speed BOOM. Hit a track board that was in the middle of the track. Long stop for repairs and it was just a recovery drive from there. Another finish under my belt which I'll take as a positive.

Q - 4th T - 1st (became the milkman ๐)
Well boys I was hoping for a good night but wasnโt expecting that wow.
Quali went well car was mega but only got one run with a tow with high fuel onboard. 4th wasnโt bad but the car has more in it.
The race start was perfect managed to jump into p2 behind Adam and sat comfortably behind him and after a few laps I could tell I had the speed to make a challenge. Problem was Adam was doing his hardest to make me commit to a high side overtake I must of tried at least 10 times and every time backed out half way into the turn and sat behind again. It was an epic battle for so many laps so I reevaluated and decided to hold back at the start of the lap and then build up up to turn 4 so I was virtually touching going into the turn and take the outside line and boom it worked.
Gotta say this is why I love racing with you guys I know I can battle fairly and to get a move takes real skill and Adam made me work for it which made the move so so sweater.
Once in the lead I turned the fuel map to max as I had been going between max and normal sat behind Adam and slowly started to pull away enough to know I wasnโt being attacked. From there on my plan was to monitor gaps not try any silly overtakes on back markers and stay clean and I felt if I could finish the race with my wings I started Iโd not be far off winning.
Strange the car seemed really slow compared to practice with the full fuel load but the handing was insane. I could sit behind someone for the whole lap and not really feel and wash out whatsoever. Anyway bought the car home for the win and was ecstatic was a weird feeling actually no real feel of euphoria I think I had almost been in a trance just pounding laps and was still there come race end.
Gotta say a HUGE thanks to Dave I know your race was ruined and I wanted to bring home the win for you and the team as much as for myself.
For those that donโt know me and Dave spend an awful lot of time between the races and have really got into groove together tuning and going thru race scenarios, strategys and feel we are getting so much outta each other but Dave is definitely the brains behind the operation so thanks again mate.
Big up to Tyler to finishing third what a team result.
Lastly well done to everyone who finished that was a mega race I was knackered after and just to finish shows the commitment people are showing.
Really feel we have a great group of drivers and possibly we should stop trying to fill numbers as we are at a level of driving and respect I just donโt see elsewhere online and itโs hard for anyone to jump into a race with us and be anything other then a slow moving cone in the way
Enough wafting anyway great race great win watch out boyโs CHIPS FINEST are coming for ya ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Much love WONKA

Especially with the bigger grids we get now there can be some issues crop up with anything but the X. It's the reason Karl went for the upgrade as he always used to have problems and in particular had to run the black tyres as the reds would just give terrible wheel shake very early in their life cycle. Anytime the game puts stress on the box the physics can go to pot.

Im still using my original xbox one from when Fallout 4 came out haha That's right Patty. There's the original vanilla flavour Xbox One, The Xbox One S and the Xbox One X. Most of us that race Project cars 2 on the original box have had issues when either you add a certain number of AI to the races or there are above a certain number of humans. Weather can also play a part in it. These problems go away with the more powerful One X. Karl is probably the one that can best answer this as he was the most recent to upgrade and has gone from struggling due to the issues he had with red tyres on the original box to winning races now he is on the One X.
