Q 5 Sprint DNF Feature 3
We had worked mostly on the wet setup for the Feature race so I wasn’t expecting too much in Qualifying but was pretty satisfied with a top 5 start.
Got a rocket ship start and made up 3 places off the line, I tried to stay with Karl but he was too fast so I decided to run my race and see if I could capitalize on any unlikely mistakes from Karl, I had a good gap to Will in third and as the race went on I was confident of a good podium finish but it wasn’t to be, with only a handful of laps left I half spun in turn 3 which gave Will P2 and damaged the RHR suspension, I still had a big gap to Ian so I limped round the remaining laps as quick as the car would allow, I turned into the chicane and the whole screen froze then the game crashed as our internet disconnected, I wasn’t pleased but these things happen. Great win for Karl, congratulations mate fabulous drive, well done Will and Ian for taking the podium places.
After my Sprint Race DNF I started on Pole for the Feature and I would like to say how impressed I am with our formation lap and how we all form up on the grid, managed to maintain some tyre and brake temps and got another awesome start, I was pulling away from Dan in P2 and I opened a 5 second lead after 2 laps, we’d worked hard on the setup for this race and the car was paying us back as the race went on, I managed the gap to Dam trying to maintain a decent gap, Dan was in a battle with Liam and within a few laps Liam was past and closing in on me, by this time the rain had stopped and the track was beginning to dry, we had a large pit window and I was planning when we were stopping when I had a small off entering the chicane which allowed Liam to take the lead, Liam pitted for slicks but we stayed out as the track wasn’t quite ready, after some discussions between Dan and I he boxed and I pushed on for a few more laps, the wet tyres were well passed their best and laptime began to suffer so I pitted with 38 minutes left to run, all seemed well until I discovered I hadn’t set up the strategy quite right which resulted in a 42 second pit stop for repairs. I rejoined in P7 with a mountain to climb but I quickly made up a few places as people pitted for dry tyres. I was frustrated that I couldn’t close in on the battle with Liam, Karl and Ian but I kept pushing hoping that there might be an incident and low and behold Liam began to report his engine issues and I jumped him as his donkey cried no more, I was a little disappointed to be in P4 after leading the race but the racing gods smiled on me again as Ian span at the top of the hill gifting me P3, I almost handed it back to Ian on the last corner when I went wide and almost crashed but just managed to hold on for another podium finish.
Huge congratulations to Dan for another Feature race win and congratulations to Karl for your P2. I think we’re really showing how good we are with our race broadcasts and credit to you all for the way you all conduct yourself, big thanks to everyone that took part, I hope everyone enjoyed the racing and I’m looking forward to Spa.
Cheers
Dave

Quali - let’s not go there Sprint race - that’s for losers Feature race - only 1 place to be boys 😝
Was so looking forward to this event me and Dave had worked so hard getting different setups for both races and good strategy’s etc plus I love this track.
Quali started off shit anyway kept Making mistakes couldn’t get the rear of the car stable and was generally not driving too well felt I was forcing the car. With 10 mins left I was about 6/7 and thinking I need to sort my act out when suddenly all the cars on track had stopped still and I could feel what was coming. Total internet stoppage I can always tell as it’s the only time all My kids come complaining at once. Needless to say I wasn’t in the right mood for them or anything and as a result my button box took a rather beating. (Managed to fix it kinda I’ve got 4 out the 8 buttons now 🙄)
Sprint race- never happened I spent most of it ripping shit apart in my rig room checking wires snd shit to find out my bloody home hubs were updating FFS what pricks at 9pm on a sat! Managed to watch the last 7 minutes of the sprint race anyway and was thrilled to see my team mate get a podium, scrap that he was fucked over too so that was zero points for the team and I feel our luck has to change, damn we work so hard for it!
Feature race- this was the race we had worked most on our setup making a car that was as good and stable in the wet and still quick enough in the dry, having a stable car meant you could potentially smack on some slicks earlier. Start was ok Dave went off like a rocket as usual and I tucked in between him I’d made a conscious effort to not push to hard at the start as didn’t wanna force snd error or kill the tyres as you don’t know if the rain is gonna be 15 or 30 mins and you need them to last. After about 5 laps me and Liam had a good few laps battling together he eventually got past and unsettled in. When Liam pitted mega early I caught up behind Dave and we discussed what laps we were gonna pit. I decided I’d go earlier then planned as I had literally nothing to lose in my mind after the disastrous start to the night. On pit entry I hit the huge puddle and span but luckily did a 360 pitted for the fuel and slicks and gingerly went out it was if I’m honest prob a few laps Too early as those first laps were awful but as the heat got into the tyre I started to out in fastest laps of the race and I know I was onto a winner as I was 2s a lap Quicker and knew everyone else had to navigate the puddle and also the warm up phase. As the pit stop phase finished I found myself in P1 12s ahead I managed to keep the gap Around 10s all The way till the end untill on the penultimate lap I spun on the last corner 🤷♀️ think I was dreaming of victory and took my eye off, Karl Closed within 4s but with a little front damage I managed to take the win and huge for the team Dave took third 👌
Normally i be stocked with the win but we lost ground to Pete and Karl in the constructors damn there just points hoarders. I feel We should of out scores them as we should of had a handful more points from race one but hey Cest la vie!
Great racing as always boys huge thanks to Dave for all the engineering as always these wins simply wouldn’t happen for me without him and huge congrats on all The drivers and finishers it was a tricky track given the conditions and the wheel To wheel racing I’ve watched back looks great professional and with so much class it’s a credit to us all.
Onto a dry spa legs hope although I don’t really know that track either🙁
Much love

Q-8th I think? Maybe 7th Sprint-3rd Feature-4th
Qualifying sucked for me compared to last week's practice session. Could barely manage a 17, if that. Car just had zero grip but from the sound of things in the lobby nobody did. Didn't help that I got in late and ran out of talent, and eventually time so it was business as usual, Ian's in the back, let's go crash in 3 laps and be pissed off all week about it...
Made a few moves and managed to make up a place or two, and after avoiding wrecks was sitting in fourth with Pete and my teammate Adam breathing down my neck almost all race, couldn't really make any time up on the top three though. I would gain slightly and then lock the brakes or make stupid mistakes and lose any time gained on either party. Adam keeping Pete occupied certainly helped my cause, it's always a bit nerve wracking to have him in your mirrors but they had an incident towards the end and I got some breathing room to run it home safe in fourth. Then Dave had his disconnect and ON SKILL ALONE I got my hands on my first podium of the season. Gutted for Dan and Dave buy I was more than happy with the whole race, would've been fine taking the 4th place as it was better than or equal to my best finish so far, the 3rd was just awesome.
In the feature it was much of the same, cruise around being safe and making as many spots as I could in the wet. I had a rocketship for a wet weather car, and if I'm honest I love driving in the rain as it suits my driving style (anything to help the car move a bit, love it) but as with the Sprint, silly mistakes kept losing that time. As the rain ended I was back to 3rd or 4th with Pete and Adam right behind me, and Pete had a ton of pressure on me as the wets began to gave up. Made the dive in for slicks and the damned puddle in the pits got me and I lost probably 10-15 seconds getting spun around, that sucked but after pit stops I knew I nailed my timing as the car came to life again, and strategy had me in 2nd 10 seconds behind Dan. From there it was all about staying clean, I could maintain but not close on Dan in the lead (had I not spun in that puddle I think I could've at least held him up for a while but such is life) and eventually Karl and Liam caught up. Liam had a big penalty so once they passed I was just trying to keep up with them to get the place post race but he and Karl came together and eventually his engine gave up the ghost and I had 3rd again. I was slowly catching Karl and may have been able to get to him on the last lap but at T3 I had a lazy spin and of course stopped in a spot that I had to do a 35-point turn and let Dave go by. In a fury I ran my fastest sector two and three times of the day trying to catch him again but it was just too much and I came home fourth.
A week of amazing runs, pure luck and running out of talent at the wrong time for me. Still ecstatic with 3rd and 4th place finishes,my best results on the year either way! Really would've liked to have gotten the podium in the feature but Dave gave me his in the sprint so it's only fair that I paid him back for that 😅 great stuff though, congrats to Karl and Dan for the wins and even more so for Dan and Dave's comeback drives, very impressive stuff!
Off to spa, in my preliminary test there last night it looks like sub-2 minute laps are possible in these cars, and knowing this group with be the bar. Can't wait!

Q-7 R1-6th R2- 8th
Qualifying want pretty much how I expected. I didn’t have a good one lap pace so I wasn’t expecting a good qualifying time so 7th was good for me.
Race 1 was a shit show for me. Had a nice clean start and first corner but I got rear ended going into turn 2 and spun round. It took me a little time to get the car spun back round and going again but as I came round turn 3 there was 2 cars stationery after an accident, I tried to avoid but failed and ploughed into the side of will (I think) I ended up with extensive damage to the front that took several minutes to repair so I was well out of the race. Once I got back out of the pit I just got my head down and put in some nice consistent laps mainly as practice for race 2
Race 2 I got a nice start but I had to get out of it due to slow cars in front. I thought let’s just keep calm and keep clean as this race was going to have crashes. After a couple of laps I made a mistake braking into turn 3 and went straight on lucky no damage but i rejoined at the back. The next lap coming out of turn 3 I was again tangled up in someone else’s accident again I took massive damage that took a very long time to repair. After getting out the pits I was once again many laps down so it was a mission to maximise the life on a set of wets so I don’t need to change to slicks too early. I think I got the tyre change just right but half way through my slick stint I clipped the edge of a puddle and the car violently snapped round then ploughed into the wall. Again I was unlucky to pick up massive damage that took a long time to repair yet again. I continued to lap after the repair just in case others had an accident but all hope was lost.
Hopefully I can prove myself in a future race

Q - 1 S - 1 F - 2
Quali was great. The set was near on perfect and i had lots of practice so knew what was possible. Twice during the week I had hit 1:15.9 and in a quick practice before the start of the lobby I turned a 1:15.800. In the end i managed to just better that a little in the official session and wound up with a 1:15.781 My first pole position in any of these series in what feels like forever. I seriously can't remember getting pole in any of the Indycar series.
Sprint - Race start was almost perfect. A split second earlier and i think the game would have given me a DT for jumping the start. When the VSC was called i think i hit the pit limiter a little later than most and gained a few seconds so i tried to give that back by going slower that the pit limiter allowed. When the green fell again i kept the small lead i had and took the win while also managing to score the fastest lap (1:16.920).
Feature - Starting at the back i took it pretty cautiously for the first few laps and only gained positions when others made slight mistakes. I had a good little bit of racing with Artie for P6 or P7. He was quicker on the straight and a bit slower in the corners. I caught him up and he went deep into T2 and i got in front, but i didn't expect him to come back at me so strongly and going into T3 i left the door open and he came up the inside to retake the position. We touched a little and i took a small amount of damage to my front wing which wound up costing me some straightline speed on the straights. It was still raining quite a bit and the pit stop looked a long way off so i had to manage the damage for quite a few laps. I also had some great racing with Adam. again, his pace was quick and i couldn't find a way past for a long time. Then when i did manage to get past after he had a slightly poor corner he took the position back a few laps later when i had a poor corner. It was a great battle. I had a late pitstop to switch to the slicks. I may have been the last one to do so i think as Adam went in and i stayed out one more lap just so i could lead one lap before pitting. When i rejoined I came out just in front of Ian. Did some decent racing with Ian nearer the end of the race but i think we had some good racing before the pitstops as well. Liam had some excellent pace but seemed to struggle with the twitch conditions of the lobby. I had some laps that were like that as well, but i think he had many more. I was behind him for quite a few laps in the race. We were racing with Ian and trying to catch Daniel up front. Liam had a couple spins in corners and i managed to dodge him right up until the last one in T2. No idea how he manages to keep his car on the black stuff while spinning. I chose the wrong side and then had to correct it and choose the other side to get around him, but it was a little too late and i clipped his front end. I took 12 or 14 damage to the front wing, but i think i caused him more damage than that and his engine started overheating. In the end he didn't make the finish due to that damage. Terribly unfortunate. He could have had P3 maybe. I wish i was streaming it because there was some great racing going on. In the last few laps i was struggling to catch Daniel but just couldn't gain any ground. A quality win for him for sure. Also a good finish for Dave in P3. It's too bad you both had connection issue in the first race.

Q - P6 S - P5 F - P6
Work has been a nightmare the last few weeks and I had exactly no seat time until about 2 hours before our start time. I wasn't expecting much from qualy so anything above last was going to be good for me.
Had a good start in the sprint race and picked up a spot but got a bit greedy on the throttle exiting turn 3 and spun. I collected Peter and Wayne which brought out the VSC. I had to tweak my dry pit setup to not add any fuel which came back to haunt me in the feature race but after we all had a chance to pit and the race got back underway I was behind Peter where I would spend a huge majority of both races. I had the better pace in sector 1 and the first half of sector 2 and Peter was quicker over the rest of the lap so the gap kept yoyoing until Peter caught up to Ian. I was able to get a few good runs into 2 and 3 but was a bit too far back to make an attempt at passing. This went on until the final lap when I got a really good run into 3 and tried to get him on the inside but couldn't quite get it slowed down enough and we made contact. Luckily neither of us had a huge amount of damage and I was able to let him back through before the end of the lap.
What little practice time I had I tried to split evenly between dry and wet running but I was definitely more confident in my pace in the wet. Start the feature in 6th and had a really good start getting into 4th but spun again but this time in turn 1. Not sure how I was going slow enough to be in 2nd and wasn't too hard on the throttle but I was able to catch the back of the pack and begin getting by people as some mistakes were made. My plan was to run the wets until it was clear slicks were the best tyre. Everyone started to pit beginning with Dan who went earlier than anyone else and Karl and I ran really long and ended up running in P1 and P2 for a lap or two. My front right was just about gone so I finally decided it was time to pit and I hit the huge puddle in the pit lane but luckily didn't take any damage. The issue I then had was my dry pit setup no longer was setup to add fuel since I changed it during the sprint race. I came out of the pits in P4 but only had 2 more laps of fuel and to adjust my pit setup on the fly and pit again which dropped me into P6 back behind Peter. I was able to get by him when he made a small mistake and then spent quite a few laps with him putting quite a bit of pressure on until I finally made a mistake in the last turn and got stuck on the outside curb and my left tyres on the grass and had to get out of the throttle which let him by. Spent the remaining laps trying to get back by but just didn't have the pace. Had a lot of fun fighting with Peter in both races and with Karl during the feature.
Overall I'm happy with how the night went considering how ill prepared I was and I hadn't driven at all in the last 3 weeks but I'm still pissed I threw away a shot at podium on a pit setup. Congrats to Karl and Dan on the wins and Ian and everyone else on their podium finishes!
