Q8 S7 F8
Qualifying didn’t go as we’d planned and I couldn’t get close to the times we’d been getting in testing but we thought we had a good race car.
Sprint race started positively making up some places off the grid and I was pushing to close the gap to the leaders, after a few good laps we found that the car wasn’t optimized for the conditions and the tyres began to overheat, I clipped one of the bollards and took some light aero damage which compromised the handling and I soon began to fall back and held on to 7th hoping for a better Feature race.
Feature race began well and in the opening corners I made up some positions and was running in 4th when the Safety Car came out, after the damaged cars had pitted I prepared the car well and got a great restart only to find Hannes had spun and was parked on my line resulting in a big shunt with big damage, I limped back to the pits but that was the end of my race and after a number of lengthy stops for further shunts and fought to hold on to P8, not a great result for us as a team so hopefully we can improve for Nurburgring.
Well done to Will and Karl for your dominant wins, big congratulations to Rich for his podium after missing some races and well done Bryan for a great P3.
Cheers
Dave

Q-7 S-3 F-2 Qualifying between 5th, 6th and 7th was covered by one tenth so things were really tonight. I was aiming for 5th as I had the pace but couldn’t get the lap together before I ran out of time. Happy with the performance and went to the grid. Sprint race started well for me – kept out of trouble and jumped up a few places to be chasing Bryan ahead. Kept things clean, good pace etc and made some places when others faltered. Karl and Will were pulling ahead at the front and I was keeping Bryan honest to a few seconds lead that he had on me. Not sure if he had an incident, but I made the pass on him and brought it home for third. Watching the stream back I saw that Will and Karl had a crash just at the end but either way it’s the first double podium for Team Panasonic with a 1st and 3rd, and my second podium of the season. Feature race needed a few starts to get going but once we were underway I applied the same approach of keeping it clean and not taking risks with too much DRS. I jumped a few places at the start but then got caught in the crash on the back pit straight and needed repairs. This put me behind Dan for the restart in the pits. New boots and more juice I got the head down and had some of the fastest laps I’ve done. Made a belter of a pass on four cars which can be seen in the stream highlights around 1hour 38. Really good racing from everyone and I started to chase Bryan again who was in P2. We had the gap around 5/7 seconds and it seemed to stick at that. He blinked first and pitted while I opted for two more laps. I then narrowly avoided Wayne after he had an off but I hit his wing which caused me damage. Pits for fuel, tyres and repairs. Emerged around 5 seconds behind Bryan where we fought it out for a about 4 laps. We both kept it clean and had some hard, respectable racing. I was able to make the move and pull away for P2. I had a few offs when around Karl but no damage done to either of us. I couldn’t keep with him for the win, but if you’d said a double podium after a month away I wouldn’t have believed you. Great haul of points for the team and for me. Really good fun as always and I’m glad to be back; thanks for the well wishes when I was out. Well done to Karl and Will-he-is-the-setup-man for their results and Bryan I’m sure I’ll see you at the next one for you to get your revenge 😊 RIP Murray Walker & Sabine Schmitz Stream linkRichard

Q-11 S-DNF F-7
Prefix: I worked really hard on setup and with the help of a lot of input by this great bunch I managed to have very stable and fast setups for qualy, sprint and feature races, being comfy running 2:03-04 laps, bad ones at 05-06's great ones in the 02's. I really thought I would be a decent competitor for this event.
Qualy- Car was simply undrivable. Tried a few times and got a pitlane penalty in my frustration. Went to my sprint setup and it felt better but too late to improve.
Sprint- Again, the car just felt terrible. Tthere was some carnage in the beginning and with some luck I made it through it and found myself in 7th with quite some distance to the following racers. But there was no way I could keep decent lap times so I found myself in 9th in no time. Shortly after I had a 2sec+ lag on the Kemmel straight and found myself in the barrier when it came back. Tried to limp back to pits but the car was so damaged that I felt I would mess with the race going on and retired.
Feature- What can I say? Oversteer from hell on one side (never had that while practicing), but then the car would turn in abruptly and my breaking points turned out to be useless. I had had these problems in the previous races but it was only to my frustration. This time it was worse. After the restart my braking point at corner one turned out to be way to late, as a result I went wide and spun onto the outside curb with threw me right back onto the middle of the track where Dave had no way to avoid me. Again, I am very sorry to have ruined Dave's race. The whole drive was just a fight to keep the car on track until there was only 8 people on the track and I did another pit to fix the damage I had from stupid handling before. Suddenly I could run decent times the last few laps. 7th is my best result in the series so far but it did give me no joy. I am sorry to be so negative but I feel very discouraged right now. I feel like my old Xbox is the issue, not being able to handle so many racers resulting in an unpredictably handling car. Not sure it makes much sense to continue as long as I have not upgraded my system. With all of this I have not paid too much attention to what was going on in the races, apologies. I will watch the recordings later today, congrats to Will and Karl for their great races and to my team mate Bryan for great results.

Qualy P5 (+1) Sprint P4 Feature P3
Q - All in all it decent effort to end P5. PB until last week was a 1.59.9 and thought I couldn´t do better than that. Had a first decent lap in the low 2.01s but realized that everyone had upped their game a lot and quickly went down to P7. In one of my outlaps forgot to put the pit limiter on time so there´s the +1... Went back up to P5 with a 59.8 but for the second time got outdone by Rich and then by Ian, we were very close but they managed to do a 59.7. With a very poor provisional P8 decided to risk it and went back to a low downforce loose setup for a final 2-lap push. First lap was horrible and went up by half a second. Second lap was really good, on the edge in the second sector but managed to extract all left of the car, crossed the line with a 1.59.701, a few hundreds quicker than both of them. Was very happy with that effort. Really close and intense qualy.
S- Got a rocket start from P6 on the outside line. Was on P5 instantly and went to the left of the track just before 'La Source'. Usually I´m very cautious in the race starts but decided to brake really really late and paid off. At one point mid-corner was side by side with Liam for P3 LOL. Backed out to avoid a side by side at Eau Rouge so I was passed by one of the Dambreville boys but went wide on the braking after Kemmel straight and then Liam spun in the next corner. Back up in P3, knew that Karl and Will were in another league so tried to keep a safe distance to the guys behind. Was aware that Will had a very fine low-downforce setup and realized that Rich was working with something similar on his car, as he started to close the gap lap after lap and with 10 minutes to go he was in my gearbox.
Tried to do my best to keep him behind but he was impossible to stop, had a moment and lost the car a bit in the 'no name' corner and he fly passed me before Pouhon. Liam was starting to get close too so I was reliying on keeping P4 as long as possible and maybe a mistake from the guys in front. Kept Rich honest until the checkered flag with a constant gap and Liam had some issues so I ended fourth. Good race keeping close to the front but had no chance to catch the Panasonic boys or Karl.
F- Started P9 for this race. This time was very cautious on the (2nd) start because tyres were cold and wanted to have a look from all the cars in front to try avoid a possible incident. Again, wise choice because Ian, Liam and Dan had an enormous crash just in front of me and managed to pick a side and avoided the accident. Lost a position to Will but he also had an issue and the SC was called. After all damaged cars went to the pits found myself on P6.
Lap 2 and the race resumed, Hannes called a very late green flag that caught Pete off-guard and launched up on the inside of him on La Source to steal P5. Hannes and Dave got tangled and the exit of the corner and crashed so I was up in P3. In that same lap Artie was in front of me, both struggling with very cold tyres still so picked up the slipstream at Radillon and went side by side on 'Les Combes'. Artie braked later but knew that he was going to have zero grip at the second part of the sequence so went and did the good old switchback and was up on P2. Second SC was called so all the tyre temps were lost again, Wayne was the car in front and he was faster on the straights so it was crucial to try and pick a slipstream.
When the SC ended Wayne was caught with a wrong gear that allowed me to get really close. Went side by side at Kemmel but he was quicker that me (as almost everyone on the straights) so backed out and followed him for the rest of the lap. He missed the apex at the Bus stop so lined up my car to made a move again at La Source. Move was on the limit but Wayne left the fair space and nailed the braking point so I was on the lead. Wayne had a moment shortly after so it was me, Rich and Karl in P3. Next 25 minutes were really solid, as soon as the car was on clean air I was able to fly on Sector 2, despite seeing how the gap decreased at sector 3. The gap to Rich (6s) and Karl (10s) froze. Was thinking about a possible race win at pitstop time but with new tyres and fuel the car started to handle a lot worse. First 3 laps were slow (like 2.04s) and the delta with Rich and Karl increased. Karl was going very long on the race without a stop. Then, when Rich came back from his pitstop just 2s behind me I knew the race win was long-gone.
(Just like race 1) Rich was faster than me and was on the slipstream. Defended hard on Kemmel straight waving my car to try to break the toe and kept him behind (just). In that same lap he attacked me again and fly passed me on Blanchimont, just like a train. He missed a bit the braking point on bus stop and thanks to the high downforce setup accelerated early and catch him at La Source. Again a super aggresive move outbraking Rich on turn 1 gave me the position back and nailed the exit so went back to P2. It was a great battle for the position. Managed to break the toe for 2 more laps but as soon as he was back again on my gearbox at the straight I held the inside line but his top speed was too much to handle anymore and flew into the distance. By this time Karl pitted from his mega stint and was P1 with a decent gap to both of us. Finished P3 like 14s behind.
Solid events from my side after missing Austria, pace was good and both races and qualy were extremely close. Congrats to Karl taking the feature race, he really is running away on the front haha. Also GG to the Panasonic boys, their setup was the best this event, Will with a fine win and Rich making the double podium. Nice to have him back, we have had some wheel to wheel action before but this one was on another level, hats-off to you m8, it was really clean and close racing (hope you all see enjoy it on the stream - battle starting from 2:10 onwards). P2 in the championship is heating up, can´t wait to see the standings and to race again, this time in Germany. Cheers.

Qualy - 1st
Obviously really happy with pole, i knew i had good pace but a 1.58.2 was a pb
Sprint - 1st
How i ended up winning that i don't know, something was seriously wrong with the handling of my car. It felt damaged, had no front end grip & the rear was horrible. Karl should of won & was really unlucky. There was 2 key incidents, first one was going into les combes one of the back markers spun in front of me & i had to take evasive action, karl was up my ass & i think he spun himself to avoid contact which gave me some breathing space for a few laps but he soon caught up. Last lap & karl was all over me in sector 2 & my car slid sideways, karl had nowhere to go & hit me causing bad damage to himself & i was able to get passed him going into blanchimont & took the win.
Feature - 4th
It must of been some bug i had with the setup because i used the exact same one for the 1hr race & had no problems whatsoever. Car felt good, i cautiously made my way through the pack & gained a few places through the lap 1 chaos. I had some good battles along the way & was happy with a solid 4th
Well done Karl on another impressive race weekend, some drivers have good pace, others have good consistency but you have both in abundance! Also well done to my team mate Richard, two very impressive drives & podiums. The constructors championship is still all to play for!
Already looking forward to the next one!
Cheers, Will

Q - 2 S - 2 F - 1
Quali - i had a PB of 1:58.2 early in the week but couldn't connect all the dots on Saturday and wound up about a quarter second down from Will (excellent job!)
The sprint race was ok at the start, didn't lose and spots but didn't gain either. Chassed Will around for a while. His car was quick on the straights and ours was quick though the corners. When we caught up Artie at Les Combes, Will managed to avoid him, but my car spun as i was trying to keep wide. That let Richard though for P2. I spun the car around quickly enough and only lost a few seconds to Will (maybe 5). I soon found myself at the back of Richard and he made a slight error in T11 that let me overtake before Pouhon. Got back up to Will eventually but again couldn't find my way past. Then on the last lap i had a slight chance to get beside him after Campus and before Stavelot when will went a bit wide onto the kerb. When he came back on track we collided and o lost my front wing. Limped home for P2, but it was an epic race. Not disappointed at all. I was happy to get fast lap as well
The feature was a bit different staring from the back, and i made it through the first bit of mess without any damage, but the second bit of mess i came upon a sideways Will in Les Combes and drove right into the side of him...lol Pack to the pits for repairs and when i rejoined i was in P8 i think and not that far behind. From there it tough to find some clean air and put in some quick laps. With all the mess it meant there were cars at almost every part of the circuit and it seemed we were always trying to overtake instead of race for the first 8 laps or so. Eventually i found some clean space and put some quicker laps in. Rich and Bryan were up front and i think i was in P4 or P3 just waiting for everyone to stop so i could try and gain a bit more time and leap frog them by pitting really late. I wasn't sure how long a pit stop would take exactly so after Rich and Bryan pitted i built a gap of about 40 second and figured that would be enough time. It was. Came out in P1 and just tried to keep it clean till the end. Fast lap again in the second race, totally happy with that.
I knew our setup was going to be a little troublesome due to the lack of speed down the straights, but through the corners it was hooked up nicely.
Unfortunate to see all the incidents at the start. This is a circuit that everyone loves i think and so it's tough when sh!t happens early on. I was lucky to keep out of most of it, but that luck usually swings like a pendulum. I was happy to have some quality racing laps with other on track though. That's always exciting. Congratulations to Will and Rich and Bryan for the podium spots in the races. It was tough to see Dave and Dan struggling, and even tougher to see my team mate Peter endup with the power outage that saw him DNF the feature.
