Q10 S11 F6
We struggled to find any 1 lap performance from the car and weren’t surprised to have our worst qualifying performance of this series.
Sprint race was a race to forget with a jump start resulting in a Drive through penalty which finished any chance of a good result but the car felt fairly good in race trim and we knew that we could capitalize on a front row start.
Jump 7 days forward and with a few people not being on the grid we started from P2, prepared the car fairly well on the formation lap and got a great start and jumped Karl for the lead. We knew that it would be a huge fight to maintain the lead for any length of time due to the caliber of fast cars behind us, Karl was fast and I had to defend for the opening laps but we managed to fight him off until we came together into T3, I had covered the inside line but lost sight of Karl who was attacking and we made contact, I came off much better than Karl but had lost a number of places but thankfully the damage to the car wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been. We had planned for a long 1st stint to over cut people on a shorter 1st and when people began pitting we took advantage and moved up the order, the tyres were holding up well and I managed to fight off Pete over a number of laps with some quick laps and hard defense, Wayne was pulling away from us as Pete and I battled but with his 10 second pit penalty I pushed as hard as the tyres would allow to try and keep inside that 10 second window, I pitted from the lead after Rich began closing in quickly and came out in P6, with lower fuel and fresh tyres the car was fast but I couldn’t make any more ground on the cars in front but overall pretty satisfied with a top 6 finish.
Huge congratulations to Rich for his performance incredible double win, great performance mate and many more to come. Well done Bryan and Liam for your Feature race podium and Pete and Will for the Sprint Race podium.
I’m hugely proud of our group and the professionalism, performance and quality of our drivers, this series continues to be exiting and sometimes challenging but it’s great to see the incredible improvement across the league.
Looking forward to Imola next week.
Cheers

Q – 4 S – 1 F – 1
Qualifying was tight at the top and I was confident of a good starting position until Karl and Peter put in their laps! Their pace was something else to get into the 1:38’s, with my previous best before then being a 1.40. My fastest was good enough for 4th which was just fine for me. Highest starting position so far so heads down for the sprint.
When the lights went out, I was on it! I jumped from 4th to 1st by the end of the pit lane meaning I had a decent chance to pick my braking point before the first corner. We all behaved through the first few turns but with Karl close on my tail, I knew I had to get on with it. A few corners later, Karl unfortunately dropped it meaning I could start to pull away from Peter and Will. I pulled out about 8 seconds at one point while Will and Pete fought it out. Keeping it clean, I guess that Peter got passed Will and started to chase. He was gaining in the last few laps but keeping it clean and quick I was able to take my first win! Delighted to say the least!
Fast forward seven days, I was at the back for the Feature race. Another good start with no contact, I quickly made-up places to get into 4th by lap one, sector two. A few others had some mares off the line so hard luck guys. I then kept pace with Dave, Karl, Bryan at the front, knowing that they were going to be focused on each other. Dave and Karl had a rough crash into turn 3, which watching back on the stream was just a result of too much understeer. Unlucky chaps.
Back to the grind with my familiar foe Mr Bryan, I was on the chase for a few laps but struggling in the dirty air. I was quicker than him in Sector three so I set up a nice exit from the top of the hill and managed to pass him into the last chicane. Very good awareness from him as always, but getting this pass done was crucial to my fuel levels. Lap 16 I boxed for tyres and juice, but I was really tight on fuel to the end – just see this on the stream! I knew that re-joining in 6th, I needed clear air to get the undercut on Bryan, which just worked! As he left the pits a few laps later, we were back to around ½ seconds between us to the end of the race. Great racing again mate – always a challenging pleasure.
Second win of the championship and my 5th trip to the podium. Thank you all so much for the congrats as it felt like a popular result with you all. Really enjoying this series so long may that continue. A double win is crazy and I didn't think I'd be able to get that.
New wheel is built and setup – this will be a challenge to keep the pace I’ve shown over the last few races. Team Panasonic are going for Constructors title so let’s keep it going.
I've put my back out this morning so hoping for a quick recovery by next weekend.
Cheers

Q-9 S-6 F-5
Qualifying was eye opening for me, I started the season thinking I could do well in this one. Then everyone showed there true pace. Haha I could have gone a bit faster but I was overdriving the car and making lots of mistakes. So happy to settle with 9th
Sprint race was a lot of fun for me. I had a nice battle with Dan for 5th but after a good few laps of tight racing my tires just went away from me and I needed to calm down to get the tire temps back under control. I also made a late mistake and let elchueco through right at the end but luckily for me I pressured him into a mistake at the last chicane and managed to overtake him on the outside of the last corner for 6th place
The feature race was like jumping into the deep end, I hadn’t practiced all week so I felt a little off the pace but I did manage to keep a reasonably consistent race pace but I did make quite a few mistakes throughout the race. One of the major mistakes was getting muddled up with the pit lane limiter board so I gave myself a 10 second penalty. I gave it my all after the pit to try and keep hammer over 10 seconds behind so I could keep 4th but I just didn’t have the pace. Overall it was a lonely race being on my own for most of the race but it did help my tires last a lot longer.
Well done everyone for the great racing and insane lap times

Qualy P7 Sprint P9 Feature P2
Q - Tough one. Had a PB of a 39.9 on practices and thought that anything near that would be good for P4-P5. Posted a good decent first lap (40.1) but then all the guys started to better that time and dropped into P7. Didn´t know what to change or improve as I was already on the limit so started to overdrive the car. The only lap I could improve was at the end with a 40.0, a few hundreds shy from Adam but no positions gained. Some work to put on qualys. S- Race pretty much over at the beginning as I got a jump start. Took the penalty first lap and found myself in a distant P12. Car was decent on clean air and approached quickly on Artie and Ian. Ian spun and Artie made a mistake in the last turn so picked the slipstream and overtook him for P10. Then, with 15 minutes to go I git behind Adam, and couldn´t get near him for the rest of the race. Gambled on a low donwforce setup, great to run in clear air but as soon as I got with Adam on a similar pace the handling was aweful. Karl spun on the last lap so took P9. Frustrating race.
F- Was due to start P5 but some guys missed the race (7 days later) so started P3. Didn´t had much time to practice but took some advice from Hannes (thanks m8) and copied his brake settings and tyre pressures, hoping to get a more stable car on wheel to wheel action. Got an OK start and mantained positon. Ahead of me Karl and Dave started to figth for the lead so joined the party. Great couple of laps between us three ended in a race incident between Dave and Karl, no blames, just unlucky. Took P1 with Rich in P2 chasing me.
Rich and I had different strategies but similar pace, that concluded in a race that both of us would cross our paths many times. Rich was light on fuel for stint1 so took advantage and overtook me on the back straight within 3 laps. The heavy fueled car wasn´t feeling great and a lap later took a bollard and got 2 damage. Started to struggle so Rich gained a 4 sec gap and Will wasn´t far behind. Thankfully the damage didn´t affect much and with a good tyre management started to close again to Rich and the gap started to yo-yo (2secs) for the next 20 minutes. With 35 minutes to go Rich got a couple of fast laps and the gap increased again to 4s at the time he make his stop. With clean air gave it my all and put 3PB laps to try an overcut on him so at the time of my stop I knew that the exit was going to be tight.
Exiting the pits it looked like I had done it but then Rich appeared in the straight and managed to stay ahead by 3 tenths (in handsight I could have done another lap but oh well). Same story for the rest of the race, the gap stayed in 1.5-2sec between Rich and I, both saving some fuel and hoping for a mistake. Hats-off to Rich who handled the constant pressure and didn´t put a wheel wrong all race. P2 at the flag, very happy with the effort, pushed until the end but Rich did just a bit better. Congrats to him on the double, very impressive. Congrats also to Liam, he was closing on us but had a spin and ended P3.
Watching the stream I saw very few incidents in lap 1, 6 cars in my pit window, 4 cars in 6 seconds during the first stint and two cars battling for victory for an hour within 2 seconds. As Dave and Rich said yesterday, the league is in a very high level atm and that makes me very happy. Congrats for you all for making it into the race yesterday and bring on Imola, back to back races Wuuuuuu. Cheers.

Q-11 S-7 F-10 Qualy: Everyone was very fast. As always, I lost some speed from practice (no, not by Xbox anymore, car war feeling great all events ). Was about 0.6 seconds slower than my fastest test runs which still would have placed me in 10th, Dave was about a tenth faster than that. Sprint: It always takes me a bit to get up to race pace but managed to get into it and even follow Wayne and Daniel battling for 5th. Car felt super grippy right to the end and I could pass Wayne in the last lap as he went off track. But my nerves didn't keep up with the pressure and yes, missed my braking point at the last chicane for the first time that race and Wayne passed me since I didn't get a good launch out of the second corner. We went side by side through the last corner but Wayne had way more speed coming out so no chance on the straight to the finish. All together a decent race for me. Feature: What can I say, just didn't show up for racing. At the last attempt to get it going the previous week I got hit in the rear in the first corner causing considerable damage, so the next corner I lost my rear and caused mayhem resulting in a red flag. After that we had to give it up. I was so afraid to cause trouble this time that I let everyone pass at the start (not on purpose), went from 5th to 8th by the third corner and last by the end of lap one, no aggression, no defending by me. I still got into ok pace after that and creeped up to 8th because of forced pit stops by fellow racers. Just when I kinda got hopeful, thinking I could just keep my nose clean I made a silly, lack of concentration mistake. Got so much damage that I had to pit. By accident I only repaired damage and I knew the race was done for me since I had to do another, scheduled stop for tires and fuel. After that my lap times got super erratic and some just bad resulting in a huge gap by the end. My take away is that while I still have to improve lap times, I have to work on my racing psychology. Congrats to everyone, I think it was great racing in both races, clean with lots of exiting battles on track. Cheers, Hannes

A race weekend to forget for the most part.
Q - 1 S - 12 (FL) F - 8 (FL)
Personal Best in Quali was nice. The setup was perfect for the most part.
Sprint race started off ok, Got an ok start but Rich passed before the first turn. On the entrance to T5 I lost the back end and spun to the inside of the turn. Rather than tyre to rejoin i waited for all the cars to get through the turn and rejoined last. I was pushing from then to regain some positions and wound up losing control through the Schumacher curves and took damage. When i rejoined i made a couple position but found myself behind Dan fighting for P5 and i misjudged the circuit and hit a large kerb and wound up in the wall. Major damage meant i rejoined basically last.
Feature start was ok but lost position to Dave at the start. Stayed behind him for a couple laps waiting for an opportunity to get by and on lap 4 made a move on the inside of T 1 but had the door closed mostly. that put me on the outside for T2 and when i thought i was getting by we made contact. I took suspension and wing damage and had to pit. Back to last. Made some headway after that and set fastest lap after fastest lap but with the early stop i knew i was going to have to make another stop to take on a little bit of fuel to make it to the end. About half way through the race while i was pushin i lost control and took some heavy damage again making for a longer pit stop and when i rejoined i was down a lap. Almost had an extra position on Will when he stopped near the end for new tyres but then i dropped it again somewhere and he got by. P8 in the end for me. Fastest lap again though.
Very good racing at this circuit. I'ts super tough to get a clean move done unless you have a lot of overspeed or the guy ahead makes a little mistake. Congratulations to Rich for the 2 wins and the rest of the podium sitters..... especially my team mate Peter for the P2 and P4 results.
Looking to better results next week.
