In pCars I used to use real assists but have recently turned them off, so in ac I started with factory but they just didn't work .
Turning them all off with the Z4 didn't either so tonight I settled on
Abs on TC off Sc 100%

I've always been a completely zero assists guy in all racing games \ sims. But with so many of the cars we have access to now having certain assists set on in the real world i've started using the factory option in AC. I'm not sure whether it makes me faster, slower or makes no difference but i'll do a comparison of them once I am able to spend more time in the game. Still had less than 10 hours on AC I think.

I have had another session today and I would like to revise my previous statement my lud which is now
ABS - on TC - on
SC - doesn't seem to make that much difference for me either at 0 or 100 in this case but with ABS/TC on I was definitely quicker , but not sure if they are factory fitted

With the TC do you use the traction control option from within the car? You can move it to I think 12 different levels of TC using the X button if you have the default button mapping. Not sure how you gho back down the levels though lol. This is quite a cool feature as you can alter the TC for different parts of the track as required. Haven't tried it properly myself yet but it's something that I am sure could be useful.

I take it then that there is a button mapped to go back as well as up the options.. I only spotted the X button as mapped for TC but probably missed it.

I can't wait until I retire, because it looks like a lot of experimentation is needed. 16 days and counting! I did get a little more time in the AC game last night, and I have to say that I really like it overall. And I made a tune spreadsheet because the whole save file thing is freaking confusing. AC Tune Template.xlsx (13.17 KB)

Ok hadn't spotted that just thought it was on and off as per the setting, how do software developers get away without issuing manuals, christ you have issue a manual in umpteen languages for almost anything else!

Lucky sod!! I have been thinking of the possibility of doing the same next year but the hit in my pension for taking it early would be too much I think.. 5% per year and it would be 5 years early. Had enough of work and need to find more time for all these games we have now

38 years in manufacturing and I'm really tired of it. Was just re-married 3 years ago, and we did everything we could to get everything paid off and expenses lowered so we can move on to the relaxed life, and full time gaming. Wife is totally into Destiny and such. You're lucky to have a pension, I lost mine in the last resession😭

I only lost half of mine.. nothing to do with recession though, just a bloody wife that wanted to take me to the cleaners in a divorce!!! Unfortunately not in the position to reduce expenses too much as I have to privately rent after losing my house in above noted divorce and private renting over here costs an arm and a leg.

Yeah, I was divorced twice, nearly killed me! When I started dating again, the main requirement was a woman with a kind heart. I was lucky to find her, and she also is financially secure.

So, after some experimenting I have (for now) settled on: 44 15 20 20 UNDRSTR ON
ABS Off TC Off SC 20%
I also noticed that there's no Brake Pressure control at all in any screen set up. Weird!
And as I look at the car "status" display I notice that the Toe and Camber don't represent what the sliders say. I wanted Camber of FR -3.0 and RR -2.5. I actually see FR -3.0 (status)= -2.7 (setting) RR -2.5 (status) -1.6 (setting) For Toe I wanted FR -0.10 RR +0.10 I actually see FR -0.10 (status) 4 (setting) RR +0.10 (status) 1 (setting)
Absolutely weird! Really was wondering why the car was so screwed up. Now it seems much better. It would be good if someone else can confirm the relationship of the sliders to what the actual status display is reporting. I mean, how the hell are you supposed to effectively set up and adjust if it's so mis-represented?
Or am I just not getting it?

I am no mechanic or tuner but I think what you are seeing is the "every setting is influenced by every other setting" so you set Camber to X but this is affected by toe, caster, downforce etc so the actual resulting camber you see equals Y .

That makes sense. So... the status display is the actual result. Tweak the set up to whatever, to get what you want. I hope that's the way it works.
