Turns 3 and 5 are the toughest corners for me, the faster ones can catch you out if not careful with your lines but those two are the ones where most time can be lost. Especially turn 5 because of the long stretch straight after it so get it wrong and you can lose time all the way along there. Turn 3 is where most incidents can start.

Happy with my Dallara tune - high 101s and 102s with red or black and full tank at Willow feeling stable and nearly in control. I’ve been practicing racin AI. Everything sure as hell changes with dirty air and drafting with these cars! And....ahem.....aero damage occurs rather easily...... Very nice, mid 1:04s are the best I can muster on Blacks but consistent at 1:05. What's your gearing and downforce at? 4.75 final drive 1.263 5th 1.125 6th 15 front df 18 rear df 1.31 / 1.15 bar

Thanks Ian, i'll have to give it a go and see how my times compare.👍
I've brought my times down into the 1:03s with some more meddling around, with a best of 1:02.500 on Blacks. I took Karl's & Peter's advice (thanks gents) and went with lower downforce and also lowered the final drive as low as it goes. That in combination with higher gearing seems to work well as you can carry a lot of speed this way. Slighty softer left springs help the overheating of the tyres as long as each lap isn't driven flat out.

So reality sets in - high 101s with reds, 103-104 with blacks. Did a full race tonight with AI and I’m pretty stable as long as there’s no cars around me

How are you guys finding the tyre wear? I thought the reds might struggle to last a full fuel stint but just did my first stint of a race and they made it fine to the end of the 23 laps that the tank holds. Front left takes all the stress but I still had green left at the end of the lap.
Need to adjust my blacks pressures though as the temps very quickly were higher than I like them to be. I've only done a handful of laps on those as I'll likely only be using them once.

The only way i'll be competitive in this series is if i upgrade my old xbox to the new oneX. Should still be fun, but I'll be on the Black tyres for most of the races as the Reds just make my wheel shake.

I like the reds but would either have to slow down or do a lot of pits. I think the blacks are probably good for at least 40 or 50 laps

Your pressure are not a million miles from mine so must be something else causing your much higher wear rate. What wear are you getting on each tyre?

About 15 laps is all that the reds can seem to handle. The AI started to slow down after about 10 laps and literally pit on lap 14 and 15 in my practice race last night.
I think blacks are almost better for longer stints and what i'll probably be running on for most of the race.
Fuel usage is another thing, and I haven't calculated that yet😮

My reds were on about 88% at the end of the 23 lap stint and then on the next I ran the blacks and they were only 12% at the end so I could actually easily run the whole race on a single set of blacks if the fuel tank allowed!!
Weirdly, I then started another race but with no AI just to get an idea of race pace in clean air and my tyre temps were immediately about 10-15% higher than in the race with AI and as a result the degradation was close to double. Very odd.
Fuel is abt 3 litres per lap.

Dirty air, more rubber on the track, different time of day maybe? I know those factors always effect my car's performance.
I'm probably jinxing myself, but slow and steady seems to be the key here. I guess we'll find out lol!

I guess we'll find out lol! The only thing I changed for he session was to remove AI. Everything else I left exactly the same. I only ran half a dozen laps in the non-AI race and at that point in the AI race the temps were completely different but there was not enough time to have laid much rubber. Just very odd. Agree with you about steady being the key and with the number of cars on track it will be very difficult to run fast, clean laps very often I suspect.

Also just what the boundaries are for which cloud cover ect? Not sure how much difference it makes?

The in game weather will reflect the real conditions at the track we’re racing on for the time and date we’re racing, so you can look at any number of weather sites for the weather and then simulate that in your practice sessions. The temperature and cloud cover will effect the tyre temperatures and performance plus you’ll need to factor in the brake and rad blanking according to the conditions and ambient temperatures. Cheers Dave

I’m not going to be able to make it fellas. I’ve been out of town the last two days, and we’re not going to be back in time unfortunately. On a positive note, you don’t have to worry about my 58 second lap times LMAO. Sorry I can’t make it
