What's the benchmark time for this one Tyler? I think it would be good to post that up each time the sign up thread is released so everyone has a rough idea of what to aim for.

Make sure to check out the rules and regs as there are a couple you need to make more of... 1) Mandatory pit stop (no need to take fuel or change tyres unless you need to) 2) Have to use vintage and not track tyres

I'm pretty much just going with the same setup each race for this series as my practice time is negligible these days.

Tyler figured out basic lap times for each track at the beginning of the season to determine number of laps per event. He often refers back to those times.

Yeah what Greg said. It's just a handy reference to give us all an idea of a respectable time. Be warned though Tyler's benchmarks in this 49c series are often beyond the rest of us lol.

Well that’s me done for, the best I could do in the rain was 1:55s that’s with the basic settings though and this is a very rare occasion I have used PC2 since it’s launch. May take a while to get a grip on this ..

There's still time to get a little bit of a handle the car so try not to stress. Take it nice and slow until you learn the circuit with the car and keep a consistent pace. Don't push, you'll notice the speed will come in time. Slow and steady is better than fast and inconsistent with these beasts.

Setups are going to be interesting...

Even if you can't come to terms with the 49C in the final 4 races of the season, stick around.
We'll be running the Lotus 72D next season shortly after which is a huge difference especially because we'll be able to use the slicks for the first time. It's aerodynamics have evolved quite a bit from the 49C.

It's aerodynamics have evolved quite a bit from the 49C. I did some testing in the 72D a few weeks ago, it behaves much more like a modern car and it’s fairly easy to setup. I’m envious as I’d love to race in that series but I’m sure you’ll love peddling it 🙂

I used the same conditions as we are using for this race in a practice tonight and the rain started around about lap 19/20 and continued for the remainder of the race. The track got really wet and slippery for about 8-10 laps before easing for the final 4 or 5. Trickiest part of the track is around turns 4-6 with a large puddle developing in the middle of 6 (Wurth) which caused me to aquaplane on one lap. Very challenging in those conditions but a lot of fun. My best laps in the dry were mid 1:37's and I was losing about 7/8 seconds when conditions were at their worst but it's very easy to lose it if not really careful.
