The title should clearly explain but just in case give your answer as to whether you want the races to follow the actual race weather or do you want to keep it a surprise by keeping it dynamic.
In case anybody was going to ask I am not going to include an option for 'clear only' as we are trying to keep everything as close to real life as possible and the challenge of the changing conditions should always be possible.

How accurate can you set the weather? For example if it was a wet-dry-wet race could you replicate that in the settings? That would be cool

That would be cool To be honest not having spent much time with this game I am not totally sure. In pCars it is much deeper and you could easily replicate the real weather but I suspect in F1 it is still the same as it has always been and you can't be so specific. I'll check tonight.

I could see Pandora's box of arguments about how exactly it should be set up while in the Lobby. You guys know better than I would. Adding a Practice session prior to Qualifying would help a lot. I dont know how viable that is, though. So, I voted leave it Dynamic however with the addition of Practice before Qualifying.

I went for Dynamic because i like the occasional wet race and we rarely get them in actual F1.

I know in GP mode you have a custom option for the weather, where there's a number of slots for you to select what conditions you want. I'm not sure what the host is able to do in an online lobby though.

Qualifying - 2 Weather Slots Race - 4 Weather slots - Assumably they take up 25% of a race each

I’m not bothered I like the wet 😝😜 But also like the idea of following race weather to as real as we can

To have a short practice session might be an option, just to check any last minute setup changes and to gauge the weather conditions The problem comes when trying to get those in that can't commit to the practice. If they couldn't get in it before the end of practice it would require a restart of the lobby from scratch with just quali and race. I'm fine with anyone testing it out though. However, don't forget that two of the remaining races are late starts in the real world so adding a practice session to those would be difficult as they are already due to start at 9 unless people are not fussed about watching the races live.

I checked last night and like Boothy said you get two slots for Qualifying and four for the race. I think the options were clear, overcast, light rain, heavy rain. I cannot find anywhere that specifies how the changeover between slots works and whether there is any algorithm that makes this unpredictable or not but I would suspect there will just be a few minutes crossover between each slot.

I do actually agree with this as the uncertainty adds to the reality in some ways. However, the counter to it is that at the moment the game seems to be giving too much weight to the wet weather in it's dynamic setting algorithm. How many races have been rain effected this season in real life.. very few while our races have had rain in 3 or 4 of the last events I think. Singapore, Sochi and a completely wet Suzuka in the last three races alone.

Due to the unique way CM does things i suspect each slot is 25% tbh and that's too much for a brief shower

I think that the software bases the weather historically on previous events, we should do some testing and determine how the weather setup works then we can tailor the settings with some certainty.

I wonder if we had an in game season set up, would we get as much rain? If the game knew we already had 3 wet races would it give a 4th? Right now it's just a 1 off event every time and sometimes not even the same host.

Are we using the leagues feature for next year cos you can customize a lot of things for that from weather to the grid. AI replacements for people not about etc.
