Great racing tonight guys, thoroughly enjoyed that π. I'll get my Twitch stream uploaded in the next day or so and also Twitch the race replay from the game from various cars perspective as soon as I get the chance.
Well done on the win Sean and CPR and Neale for the podiums.. great recovery drive Neale and the perfect example along with Sean's at LeMans as to why you just keep going no matter what ππ.
I was happy wth my drive to 8th, a few mistakes and slow downs for track limits but really enjoyed it. I never really got any pace in the second stint which I think was due to not having got any second stint practice in so I found the handling in the cooler conditions more tricky. Nice battle with Greg for the second stint and but for a spin at the corner after Bruxelles thought I might have a chance to get back at him but well done mate you just had too much for me but glad I kept it fairly close.
Cheers π

Q 2 R 1
I would have had to pretty much set a PB to beat Neale's qualifying time. But, having pole can be a curse here for sure. Lol
Really happy with my race and stayed clean the whole time. Only hiccup was over fueling in the pit, but only by a few laps.
Didn't get a single slow down warning and that was a personal goal. Had to let off a few times to not get it, but it was worth it since those are killers.
Last race at Silverstone, I think that was my best drive. Always there is some luck with wins and losses in endurance racing.
The last stint was tough to see brake markers etc and had a a couple near mistakes, but was able to pull it together.
Happy to see my teammate got a podium, too.
That was a really tough race and I can only imagine how tough it is doing this after prepping for open wheel all week. To see nearly everyone finish is awesome.
Feel horrible about not covering the one thing that absolutely needed to be covered with Will yesterday, and that's not exiting the game. It's happened to all of us, but it sucks.

Q: P14 R: P6
What a race gentleman, congratulations to Sean on the victory, well done.π Very impressive driving to CPRacing to get the 2nd place finish with the Ferrari. It proves that I should be able to get more out of mine, somehow lol. Good comeback Neale and we had some great wheel to wheel racing.
I couldn't match my offline times in qualifying today but I wasn't off by that much. I ended up starting in last position as I had multiple spins on my go for it laps near Les Combes and Bruxelles damaging my car each time. One of my engineers kicked me in the nuts for that.π΅
I picked up a few positions on the first lap and had an excellent battle with Greg for a really long time. I ran in 2nd position for a little while until I had a boo boo at Les Combes. At some point I was having a great battle with Dan and then we both went into Les Combes too fast and spun out, I think we both got damage. We were driving hard and there's nothing wrong with that. That was great racing Danπ
After that I took my pitstop and came home in a good 6th position on the lead lap. It was a tough race but exciting, one of my favorite modern tracks, well done and thanks to everyone who participated. Now it's back to France.

Q:8 R:DNF
Another fantastic nights racing, great battles and fights up and down the field, drama, incident, everything youβd expect from a highly competitive professional motorsport series so congratulations to everyone who raced and competed, firstly thank you for your support in this series and secondly for your professional attitude towards your fellow drivers, you are all an example of how to behave as racing drivers.
Q: posted a PB of 2:17.3 after 3 runs which was pleasing.
R: Maintained some good tyre and brake temp on the formation lap and made a great start after some 1st corner action at the front and I took a tight line into La Source and got into P3, quickly settled into my race pace but couldnβt close the lengthening gap to the leaders, tyres began to grain after 3 laps and I began to feel some pressure from Dan who had closed to within a few seconds, I was faster at some points and Dan was quicker in others and we raced over 10 laps which was thrilling, that battle was cut short with an incident in the bus stop which took Dan out of contention. Seeing a fairly large gap appear behind I decided to roll the dice and push to close down the leaders which turned out to be a poor decision when I had a big off at Eau Rouge with significant damage and the loss of many places. But I decided to try a much longer 2nd stint and fuelled the car to the end, initially the gamble worked as the car was fast with a full fuel load and I was soon back to a very good pace. I made my way back to P11 and found Dan a few seconds up the road, as Dan was running with some damage I soon closed in and began trying to engineer an overtake, as the light was fading I had a drop in concentration and hit the Old Pit Wall on Eau Rouge hill which ended my race spectacularly. Even though I was disappointed not to finish the race I was very happy with my performance and Iβm very excited about the next round.
Well done Sean, great race win and weβll deserved, congratulations Neale, fabulous P2 after ending up at the back of the field and awesome drive by Stu in a heavily damaged Vette for P3.
Cheers
Dave

I didn't hear what happened and was surprised to see you were out after a strong qualifying, Dave. Eau Rouge is a beast. It can pay big dividends just as well as it can end a race. Always tough to get retired after starting strong.
Tyler, I think I saw just after you went off at Les Combes. At 3 least different people went off there that I saw and Peter almost did coming oit of it, but saved it. There are a few curbs there that can give aero damage. Really a tough downfall section.

Q 1 R 3 Great Evening did a PB for qualifying R Balled up rolling start to Sean to jump to first ,Shame about first corner punt to the rear of my car at first corner but thatβs racing. Waited for all to pass before rejoining track and started of again had some great battles and slowly worked my way back up to fourth then pitted all good there but should of repaired engine as lost power on seconded stint but jumped Stu for second, then on pit stop then glitches came in and spun then later another spin losing so much time now Cp gets pass and Stu back on me. Stu glitching about behind and closing now know I have lost second to Cp then decided to let Stu through just had to stay with him as he had 2 second penalty Mick was also starting to close on us was thinking now I may have to put up with 5th but Stu was on it and I was managing to stick with him even though my steering was very jumpy now noticed that gap to Micko was stable so just kept up with Stu and got third. A great evening some great driving from all. Great battle with Tyler/micko, Peter,Dan, and a lot more I hope and feel that I didnβt cause any issues with fellow racers. Well done to my team mate for top spot and Cp I hope I have him correct. π Have to say thank Peter for letting me past when you came out of pits I felt rather guilty as you didnβt really have to but was most appreciated .ππ»

That sucks about T1, I saw some of it in the mirror and was holding my breath. Incredible job keeping it together and fighting back for a podium. I had to do it last week, but wasn't as fortunate at the end. It makes it as hard as possible to have to battle every single damn car on the way back up to the podium.
Goes to show that anything can, and will, happen. But, never give up.
Doing a PB in a short qualifying session is really damn hard to do. I tried to get pole, but just couldn't put it together and spun a couple times trying to get it. Still, that pole position is an absolute bitch for race starts lol
RE: Pit glitching. It seems to happen as people enter and the AI/pit limiter takes over the car. Maybe we could start calling out a few seconds before going into the pit to at least have an idea when it is coming.

First thanks a lot for organizing this event, that was great, with great racers on the track. I really enjoyed it !
Note: I have been asked during the race to speak more, especially while overtaking. I will do it for next events. I did it several times during the first half of the race, but the drivers I was trying to overtake or pass seem not to understand, hear or listen....
Q:3 R:2 Qualy:
Qualy went very well, I could have gone under 2.14 but lost a lot of time at the last chicane on my best lap... I had 2 penalties, the first one I am not sure why, the second one for speeding in the pit lane (box with pit limiter on, then went into the garage anf forgot to reactivate it when going out.... As a result, I was disqualified and have to start the race P5. Race: I had a very difficult first stint. I completely missed my start, being looking more at my position at the start to the other cars more than the lights... I lost several position at the first corner...
The consequences of my 2 places penalty and this bad start were big, I was stucked behing cars that (no offence) were a bit slower and struggled to pass them. I had 1 or 2 contacts (the second one making me spining at exit of last chicane)... I lost 30 seconds to the leaders on the first half....
After the pit stop, it was much better for me, with a better pace (repaired car), the only thing slowing me donw was the sun going down... Shame that despit my effort I could not catch with DaleRossi.
Overall I was very happy with my result and I am looking forward to the next one : 2.4 hours at Le Mans !!!! Cheers

Maybe we could start calling out a few seconds before going into the pit to at least have an idea when it is coming. I agree with this Sean, that's a good idea. It doesn't always affect connections but when it does it throws drivers off and when multiple people are entering the pits at almost the same time like last night the connection bumps became annoying.

Qualy - I think i only had a couple of laps (both were cancelled for exceeding track limits) but then decided to spectate others before i tried a few more. Problem was i couldn't get out of spectator mode! It said press B to go back but when i pressed B it came up " are you sure you want to leave the lobby" So i was stuck watching everyone for the last 15min. Then just to top it all off when qualy finished some big box appears with "click here to return" or something like that. I clicked & got kicked. Must thank Dale Rossi for helping loads over the weekend with everything, hopefully there's a slot for me in the next race.

Don't click the 'Return to lobby' tab! After qualifying we have to wait for the host to continue.

Wish I'd remember the most important thing..don't click that button.lol I dont remember how to get in an out of spectator mode. Set up an AI practice race and you can spectate from the pit there, too. You can tinker with it and figure it out. If I can remember, I will post up. It's a helpful feature.

Ugh, that was certainly a challenge. In all my practice i had zero issues with the handling of this car so i was optimistic about being able to have a good race. Early on in Quali though it was clear that wouldn't be the case. Struggled with the handling and tyre temps due to my old xbox. My best quali time offline was 2:17.1 but the best i could do online was 2:19.0 The race started with cold tyres and even though i was taking it easy i had an incident with someone who was on Hard tyres. We were side by side going into Campus and he slid sideways in front of me causing dame to my front bumper. I tried to stay out to see how it effected the lap times but was easily down 20-25km on the straights so pitted at the end of lap 2. New tyres and a fresh bumper and i was off again. Initially the tyres were good and the handling was ok, but by lap 6 the tyre temps started to fall drastically. They went from an average of about 80-85C down to 64-68C. The car was nearly impossible to control through the turns with the cold tyres but they then came back up a little bit. The handling of the car kept going in and out from understeering to oversteering. at one point i turned into the fast left near the end of the lap (before the chicane) and the car just went straight on...no turn in at all. Other times it would oversteer drastically, and i had several incidents at Les Combes and Pouhon as a result of the oversteer. I stuck it out, some laps the car would take Eau Rouge with no issues and other times i would have to slow drastically for the car to make it through there. I had very little wheel to wheel racing and my pace was such that i was generally loosing time to everyone. This was a stark contrast to the practice sessions i had in the week prior. My fastest race lap offline qwas a 2:17.2 but on Saturday the best i could manage online was a 2:18.5 during a rare lap with no handling issues and reasonable tyre temps. In the closing laps i was chasing down Dan for P10 just hoping to get a point. The more i pushed though the more issues i had with the handling and i spun a couple times putting right out of touch with him. In the end i only managed to get P10 and a point because Tom quit out. Here's the video of my race if you're so inclined to watch my struggles. mixer.com/niblips2?vod=253183322It'll only be there for two weeks as that's the limit mixer saves the videos. And i can't be bothered to download it and put it on youtube. I did have some testing yesterday at LeMans in this car offline to see how poorly my prospects will be in two weeks time. With decent handling and tyre temps i put in a 4:01 easily on a full tank of fuel, but the more AI i added the worse the situation got. When the car is handling well the tyre temps are 84C at the front and 89-91C in the rear, but when i added AI the demand on the xbox was too great and the tyre temps dropped to 63C at the front and 76C at the rear which made negotiating the twisty bits in the third sector near impossible without slowing drastically or spinning out. Nothing i tried seemed to help keep temp in the tyres. I tried adding Aero, that did nothing. then i tried changing the toe in hopes that scrubbing the tyres would keep the temps up, but it didn't work either and the car became completely undrivable from the extreme toe. Hopefully i can get some testing online with some of you before the next race to see how i can get along, but i have little hope it'll be better in LeMans than in Spa.

That is so strange, Karl. I can see lag and frame rates creating issues, but don't understand how tire temps are hindered like this. Would be curious to know if other original Xbox users have similac problems.
You're experienced enough to know how tires work and heat up etc. Stupid question, but were your offline tests done with the Exact same weather, date, time, fuel, 15 AI opponents etc?
Trying to think of places other than Ebay and Amazon to find a use One X that isn'ta rip off. FB marketplace may be worth looking at. The external RAM solution make help instead of going that route. I would guess if you're going to get next gen when it comes out, you could resell a One X at that time for maybe 20 or 30 less than what you get it for now. Just trying to think of solutions.
Edit: Watched the 4th lap fully and then fast forward through a lot of the race. Your temps look steady? Aside from the front brakes over heating often and that would definitely send you sliding in hard breaking zones.

I did set the offline race parameters to the same as our race on Saturday. The only difference would have been with the weather, i had mine set to clear for some running and light cloud for others. I do 99.9% of my testing on Full Fuel levels so i can get a proper feel for the car. I rarely practice withquali levels of fuel, if ever. Offline 15AI opponents don't seem to be a problem with this car. It wasn't until i got up to the 23 AI numbers and beyond that the tyre issues started. But even still, when i maxed out the AI the only thing that was effected was the tyre temps, whereas online yesterday the cars handling changed drastically sometimes. It would understeer and then a few laps later it would oversteer drastically. None of that seems to happen offline. I'll check out fb marketplace, that's the only other place i haven't looked. EDIt - yeah, the temps only seemed really far off in the opening 10 laps of the race. after that it wasn't so bad in Spa.... but that situation will change drastically in LeMans. The tyres will be really cold after all the long straights.

Watching that video, granted it is on my phone, but nothing bad stands out. Speeds look good and the temps look normal except for your front brakes. Obviously havent remotely watched the whole thing.

Oversteer understeer..any chance that was happening around other cars? I will say that your front brakes are getting too hot and that will kill your trail braking/turn in and hard braking zones.
