I've had no practice coming up to this one so it's going to be interesting for me. I might get on for a little bit but it's looking like my practice will be coming from qualifying tomorrow 😬

I've had some practice the last couple of days (a couple of half races) and the car feels pretty much like a kart around this track in the hazy conditions. It's mega fun and you can really push the car a lot.. at least in my practice that's how it proved but who that could all change once we get to the track with AI and humans involved lol. The AI here are not the quickest.. i've had them at 120/40 and they are still not quite at the pace I have been setting. Not sure how much if at all the aggressiveness effects their actual race pace but might try turning it up next time just to see. Pretty sure that barring incident we will all be lapping the AI and that may be one of the biggest factors in deciding the race as there is not a lot of space to overtake safely in the inner part of the circuit.

We could try 120/45 if you think we'll be okay. There will be 6 AI for a total of 10 drivers if Karl is racing

Exactly how much, I don't know. I used to set them at 70 aggressiveness and noticed a difference when bumped to 100. Would be curious to know the difference between 120/45 and 120/100. Trying 120/100 before, they set world record times (mid to high 3:40s at Le Mans in GTE, for instance)

Trying 120/100 before, they set world record times (mid to high 3:40s at Le Mans in GTE, for instance) We've had to be careful with AI in the classic cars in the past due to our being on different tyres (vintage for realism against them being on track tyres) but this series is the first where we've been on the same tyre. What we don't want is for the AI to damage a player's chances in the race by unpredictable behaviour. In our tests we found that having them at about 70 led to issues going into the corners hence why we dropped to 40 which seemed to make them behave better in testing. However, in the first round they were really erratic when around us and almost caused multiple incidents. I watched in my mirror as Tyler was almost t-boned several times when AI flew off track and came back on missing him by inches at the final turn!! They gave me heart attacks whenever I came up to lap them on the back straight 😮.

I'm in. But i wouldn't turn the aggressiveness up too much. last race was 25 and they still came back on the racing line after pulling off it to let you race them.

Yeah, that's a tough predicament. I default everything to 100 aggression just to simulate as best I can a multiplayer race. Obviously you don't want AI taking you out in a league race.
My biggest gripe with them is the get Zero slowdown penalties.lol

My biggest gripe with them is the get Zero slowdown penalties.lol I'm the same in my practices, especially for the WEC. The pace of the AI is more unpredictable in vintage, I guess they struggled to match things up as well with those cars for some reason.

Good fun last night. I think that was the right amount of AI. I hardly had any issues at all for the race. My run in with the bollards cost me valuable time in the pits, but before that it was great fun racing with everyone. We all seemed to be really close on pace. Can't wait for the next one.

I really enjoyed that one. It's a shame Karl and Tyler had their issues as the 3 of us were really on pace. When Tyler let me past and when Karl came out of the pits behind me, I started running my worst laps. I have such a bad habit of looking in my mirrors more than forward. As soon as both of you came past respectively I was right back on it and able to keep up no problem.

Thankyou guys for racing in this series. It may be hanging on by the skin of it's teeth, but my god, it's got very thick skin lol. It's great how close we all are pace wise and together on the track, now we just have to work on not scaring eachother off!
After I let Greg past me I felt like he started to pull away but at certain sections of the circuit i'd catch back up, then he would pull away again. Dispite my best efforts I couldn't catch up enough to overtake him until he made his mistake. That really shows me how close we are pace wise.
The incident I had with Karl felt completely like a simple mistake on both of our parts. Yeah, Karl did rear end me, but I feel like he scared me (with good racing) and my braking point was all over the place making it very hard for him to judge what I was doing. Where as my incident with Greg on Saturday was a complete rookie brain fart mistake.
Great win Pete,👍 that's 2 in a row and you were untouchable all race. This is shaping up to be a great championship, i'm really looking forward to the 🌧rain🌧 soaked Monaco GP coming up after Brno.

That's was terrific fun. I've currently got the car nicely dialed in for these circuits and feeling very comfortable with it.. complete opposite to last year in the 49C where I never got close to at home with the car.
Qualifying was exciting swapping top spot with Karl until my last run where I finally got a few clean laps in and cemented the number 1 position. My final lap was a doozy and exiting the final corner I was a second up and about to get into the 1:17's until running out of gas and coasting over the line lol. Still good enough to beat my previous lap by over half a second though.
My starts have been good and thankfully that proved true again and managed to open up an immediate gap over the opening few corners. Great to see the close battle behind with Karl, Tyler and Greg all within a second of each other. I just kept it steady throughout, not trying to push too much and once Karl and Tyler had their little tangle I was able to open up that gap to about 15 seconds at which point I started thinking about the AI I would soon have to lap. That was where I made my first mistake by losing focus and completely lost what corner I was at and ran too deep and off the track at turn 1 losing about 9 seconds. Had to build the gap up again and brought it back into the teens and then just had to take mgt time with the AI and decide when to make my mandatory stop. The AI were ok here but always give you concern when passing them and I got caught behind a few of them and after one pass I got too worried about where the AI was and went wide at turn 1 again, this time only losing a few seconds though.
Once Greg pitted around lap 35 I decided to come straight in and with no damage expected a quick stop.. uh-uh for some reason they found something to repair and I was stuck there for an extra 10 seconds or so. Exiting the pits my lead was down to about 8 seconds!! It was a smooth drive for the last 8 laps or so though and the lead was growing on each one until I finally crossed the line for the win with a healthy 17 second lead over Greg's BRM with Tyler and Karl following behind.
Well done all, great racing.. delighted to open the season with 2 victories on two tracks I really love racing on. Can't wait for Brno which is another I really enjoy 😁

The first lap and a half from both Greg and my points of view: Nice. It's a workout racing with an H shifter. Been doing Group A in my career and as much as I love the third pedal, you get spoiled with paddles.lol

The crazy thing is that the paddles don't make the racing any easier, take our WEC for example lol. Driving with the third peddle and H shifter is so rewarding to me and one of the many reasons I love it and vintage cars.
I've been seriously considering putting together some sort of vintage prototype, GT, transam, or vintage something series. I don't want it to coincide with the vintage F1 so it remains in the back of my head until further notice
