I really hope I can make this as I absolutely love this track and the massive challenge that it brings. I won't know for sure though until the day of the race as it's entirely dependent on the work situation.

In Greg / Hurt MaGurt / Brabham #23 Lets only race here from now on I've been thinking about doing a couple more one off events using the Lotus 25, or the Vanilla 49. We could do a few laps each on some of the Historic tracks for one of the events, the other event would be an enduro at the Nordschleife. Another interesting event would be a survival challenge. It would be on just the old Nürburgring Nordschleife without the GP circuit and pits. You just drive until you run out of fuel or break down, whoever goes the furthest wins.

In Karl / XRFniblips / Lotus #1
I struggle here. I get lost in Sector 2 sometimes. The more laps i can get in before this race the better. The benchmark of 8:27 seems out of my reach though. I'm struggling to break 8:30 and can only get close when i really push, which is also super dangerous for me. I've crashed 5 times in practice already....major crashes.

Hey guys question What kind of aero are u running for this? Karl found 6/6 to be good. I'll have to look at my setup but I think I ran something like 4/5 or 5/5 for preseason testing, maybe even lower like 1/2. You definitely want some aero for the curvy sections and there is no perfect setup for this monster.

The most important thing for this circuit is to have a responsive car around, it's impossible to find a perfect setup when there are so many very different corners, cambers, apex's, etc. Something that you know how the car will react with and can feel comfortable with. Smooth is king around here.

Hey guys question What kind of aero are u running for this? I've been using the setup i used in Brands Hatch with 6/6 aero. The only change i made was to lower the ride height a bit more to help stick the car to the road. When i tried higher ride height the car had a tendency to lose control if you hit a kerb. The other way I found to stop it losing control on the kerbs was to add aero, but that just made the overall lap time too long and the speed down the straights was much slower.

I checked my setup and I was running 5/5

I'm running 3/2 F/R. My fastest race fuel lap is a 8:18.447 so far. Sunday I do 28 laps here in a Porsche GT4 in iRacing as a warmup for Wednesday. I do basically 9 minutes flat in that car and that's with the short version of the GP circuit. Have I mentioned I love this track?

28 laps!!! Man that's a long stint, my backside was numb after yesterday with two hours racing but that's going to be mega for you, hope you've got some soft pillows lol.
Great time Greg, I knew this one would be for you. I've only managed a handful of laps so far and am a long way adrift of that sort of time but like you its one of my favourite tracks and I know it really well so no learning needed just some time on track to get back the speed.
This could be a great one for you guys too pull some points back in the constructors but myself and Karl are not giving points up lightly 😉

28 laps if I stay on the GT4 lead lap. It's the Nurburgring Endurance Series, formerly the VLN round 3. 4 hour race. My 3rd 4 hour race here since mid March.

Wow, that's a long ol' race Greg. Good luck in that, sounds brilliant. So you record or stream it at all?

I dont stream. I'm bad enough when I start looking in my mirrors all the time. I can only imagine what I'd be like if I knew people were jumping into my stream LOL. Iracing let's you save the race or any portion of the race after its finished. You can then go back and watch any car from any camera. I've used a separate free program to upload a couple clips to YouTube.

I wonder what a good car would be to run a survival distance challenge at the regular Nordschleife without the pits. This league could probably run vintage F1 cars and last until we run out of fuel but that could take forever.
We could make it a several hour race as to where you would definitely run out of fuel if you were to drive the entire time. If it's a distance challenge, people could drive at their own leisure and take breaks when ever they need to and whoever drives the furthest in a 10 hour time limit for example, wins.

Hmmm interesting one Tyler. I for one would drive any of the vintage F1 cars here for whatever distance but I suppose a true endurance event should be in a car proper to that your of racing. Not sure what other vintage cars there are but happy to look over them to see what I think we could use.
